  1. What was the Cuban baseball schedule like? Did Dayan play a lot more ball this year than he has before?
  2. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) Well, that sucks. Question, do you keep Carwin on the card or do you pull him until Lesnar gets better? According to Meltzer they are planning on moving the match to the 1/2/10 card.
  3. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/report-le...f-ufc-106-20560 Reports have Lesnar out of 106 with illness, Dana doesn't think it's H1N1, wouldn't be shocked if they try to get him on the New Years card or the Super Saturday card.
  4. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) Apparently the medical tests just reinforced their qualms about his two torn biceps muscles and multiple concussions. I don't blame WWE - that's a big financial risk if the guy turns out to be another Kennedy. There were some reports that Bryan Danielson's future was tied to Nigel's, Meltzer said that's not true at all and he still should be in WWE
  5. Ricardo Almeida blew his knee out, so he's out of the Fitch fight.... Fitch will now be fighting Alves on the 12/12 card
  6. http://sherdogblog.craveonline.com/blog/2009-10-21#20439 Rolles Gracie signs with the UFC, it will be interesting to see how the UFC handles his connection to the family.
  7. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 10:02 AM) Hendo is talking with Strikeforce about a contract because his side and the UFC are pretty far apart still. I hope Hendo doesn't go to Strikeforce. There's not much for him there. Also, Condit vs. Daley has been made which should be an awesome fight. I doubt Condit is going to mess around with Daley on the feet now that he's training with Greg Jackson. The AZ Combat Sports Condit might have tried that, but Jackson should have him being smarter. mmapayout.com has a good article about his renegotiation tactics... basically he said he only wants to sign with UFC, then UFC cut off negotiations and then his manager said he's not really that close to signing with Strikeforce... eventually I see him back in the UFC, that's where the fights and money are IMO.
  8. I really hope this is true because it has a chance to be awesomely epic!
  9. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...84&zoneid=2 Wand vs. Akiyama on 111 in Australia... plus pics of Wand post surgery that removed some of his scar tissue
  10. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 01:39 PM) Ditto. All I've heard so far is Meltzer saying rumors started last night, WWE pushed the news quickly so it didn't appear on wrestling sites before an official announcement and everyone who works with him was shocked, didn't see it coming
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 09:31 AM) Shane O'Mac sez "See Ya!" from WWE.com wow, that surprises me, Vince has kept all the top tier in the family. Now with Shane leaving and Linda focusing on a political run, that leaves Vince, Steph and HHH with all the power. This is a story that I REALLY want to hear the real story.
  12. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/base...gels/index.html Abreu rejected a 2 year 16m extension from the Angels, so there's your starting point
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) If he did it would have to be a long term deal with raises most likely. I don't think he will go less than $4 or $5 million and at least two years I'm not sure what the numbers would be, but what other teams would have realistic interest in him?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) /points up Also if you show up at court and the officer does not they may drop the case for want of prosecution. I received a ticket for talking on a cell phone, got in an argument with the police officer and he finally said "Im not even going to show up." I went to court, prosecutor continued the case because the officer didnt show, at the continuance officer didnt show again and they were forced to dismiss the case. if you're there and the cop isn't and a prosecutor asks for a continuance object and plead not guilty... the prosecutor can't prove anything.

it will depend entirely on the Judge and prosecutor... if the prosecutor is cool and you have a good driving record he or she likely won't drop it but may reduce it to a parking ticket or a non-mover. They could be a pain and refuse to do anything and just offer you supervision and a fine. Don't forget you get two supervisions a year on movers or Jessie White starts getting cranky and can and will suspend your license. From sitting in traffic court for 2 years I would advise don't try the "come on" tactic, from my experience that would tend to tick off a judge, especially if there is a lot of attorneys or people in the court, he's not going to set a precedent for that. I've seen judges get ticked at prosecutors for not offering a better deal and giving only like a $5 fine plus CC and a week supervision.
  16. so do we wear memorial rubber bands on our faces or what?
  17. the Huet situation is really tempering my excitement for this team going forward, their offense is so strong and will only get stronger when Hossa comes back, but the goaltender is scarring the hell out of me!
  18. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) Peavy is a much better pitcher than Buehrle. I'm sure Buehrle can see that they are trying to put the club in contention to win a world series too. I doubt he is that bitter about it. and MB is not bitter about it at all. I have an excellent source about how happy MB is
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) I saw a picture of the ball and the team had somehow labeled it as the authentic ball. I'm not sure for what milestones they do it at, but at least for the major ones you hear about them putting special balls into play for authentication purposes, again, they may not use it for player milestones that aren't major.
  20. the Bader/Schafer and Hardonk/Barry fight on the 104 undercard will be shown on Spike... I like this trend and hope it's a regular thing for the UFC. Obviously Zuffa is still scared to death to put Okami on a live show, he's still on the unaired undercard
  21. It's tempting to with the 3/4 of the season he played in 2008, but to me it's still a huge risk to invest major money in him
  22. WEC was good last night, especially the main event. Really worth catching it for the main, it will be in fight of the year discussion.
  23. it will be interesting... when the XFL was around I had heard the NFL owners really didn't mind it because it was an OK minor league that they didn't have to spend a dime on. From my understanding the UFL is just a gamble by rich folk on the lockout. Basically they're trying to establish something so that if the lockout occurs it's an easy/established league for locked out NFL players and even if it's only one season, they can make some money, and the players can as well, on bascially 4 all star teams
  24. he had a great year, but his history shows we can't count on a duplicate, a solid one year deal I have zero problem with, anything beyond that is a mistake IMO. I think they should wait until the FA hit the market, let's see what Matsui, Damon, etc.. are asking for before we ink pods
