  1. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Scott Fletcher ^^^ -Steve Rosenberg -Wayne Edwards -Eric King (loved his windup) And The Deacon was always a favorite.
  2. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 24, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) You know, this reminds me... way back in the first season, Jack was randomly "seeing" his dad around the island... this was never explained. Now that we know the island has crazy powers and the dead can be alive and people can "not" age, and locke has healing powers... perhaps his father is alive again? oddly enough, its just a thought. The thought did cross my mind, given the island's healing powers and the fact that his dad's coffin/body was in the plane. I think it's great that even though Ben's been exposed as a liar and a POS, I STILL find myself hoping the Losties will listen to him. Case in point, his plea for them to not use the satellite phone. This is a testament to a superb acting job. And Kate looks pretty hot with some makeup on.
  3. QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 18, 2007 -> 01:54 AM) 3 and a half songs through Boxer by the National and am already blown away. Have never heard this band's music before. But this album is really, really good so far. Alligator has gotten more play on my ipod than anything since summer of '05. I thought it would be one of those albums that gets a lot of play and then I'd tire of it but that's just not the case. Boxer is a nice follow up; I'm happy with it. Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers deserves mention too as it's also pretty top notch but I can't get into their self-titled debut. I'd love to see these guys live. I know they were touring with Clap Your Hands last summer or the summer before and The National were headlining. I heard after CYHSY! played, half the audience would leave before The National took the stage which is sad since CYHSY! blows. I see they're playing June 07 at Metro, god I'd kill to see that show. Unfortunately they're not coming my way.
  4. Even though he didn't seem to think much of the Sox, Harold Reynolds was really good on BBTN along with Kruk and Ravich. Those three had great chemistry. The show took a dump after he left, probably only partially due to him leaving and the rest attributable to the gimmicky crap, as somebody else already pointed out.
  5. Is this the same condition Marilyn Manson had?
  6. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 15, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) you have great patience. I was fiending for some new Wilco so I had to take a listen or two, but seriously, what other band would be cool with streaming their whole new album some 2 months before it is released. I Wilco. I agree it's pretty cool that they stream the album in advance but I could have done without the guilt-trip email they sent yesterday urging people on their mailing list to buy the CD. I mean, I'd have done it anyway, but it was a little much. As for the new album, I like it a lot but I tired of it pretty quickly. They're my favorite band and it's still some great material, certainly in the upper echelon of anything else out today, but not their finest effort in my eyes. I'd say my favorite track is Side With the Seeds and I really like that they let Nels go nuts. And I like what they did with song structure on quite a few songs, where the chorus is just Nels solo-ing with no lyrics.
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 11, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) See, this is where I am confused. Willie Harris is on the active roster, isnt he African American? http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/team/roster_...ve.jsp?c_id=atl I just dont understand how the Braves got singled out. Because it is Atlanta and there is a high population of African American people? Isnt the same true of Oakland, Chicago, New York? And this statement: Doesnt Willie Harris negate this statement completely? Isnt he from Georgia, near Atlanta? I just dont get it. I think the point was that on the Jackie Robinson anniversary they didn't have any blacks on their active roster. Willie got called up since then. Oh Jesse... Isn't this douche a Sox fan?
  8. It's great to see Jose with his ERA currently down to 4.10 after the horrific start to the season. If he can get a couple more nice innings here and get it under 4, Danks (4.33) would be the only starter with an ERA north of 4.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 2, 2007 -> 08:18 AM) 78, 6'1" Screw softball, it counds like we should be playing WSI in basketball. haha yeah, I hear they have a dude with a torn labrum. He probably doesn't defend the post very well. ...27, 5'9"

  11. Cleveland's performance thus far is quite the turnaround from the past couple of years. They've been below their pythagorean record at least the past three seasons, and last season they were 12 games off the predicted pace, an MLB worst. This should have been an indictment on Wedge's poor managerial skills but thanks to the killa stache, he kept his job.

  13. They originally picked up Casey because they it was such a righty-dominated lineup, and if you put Shelton back in there, it would remain a non-balanced lineup. Granderson (L) Polanco ® Sheff ® Maggs ® Guillen (S) Pudge ® Shelton ® Monroe ® Inge ® First base and DH were where they could have upgraded big time over the offseason. They did well with Sheff at DH (well... maybe), but based on production alone, Casey was a debatable re-signing.
  14. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:44 AM) If only it were the NBA's final night Final night of the regular season, which was a pretty big night for determining playoff seedings. Very cool compilation. I saved all the homepages of the major sites after the World Series victory and I enjoy coming across (and on) those when going through my pictures folder.
  15. I can't believe I missed almost the whole thing watching the stupid Bulls game. Anyway, congrats Buehrls. All the more impressive to see a pitch-to-contact pitcher do it.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) Scouting Report: Never before seen by White Sox hitters = Trouble. (Look for a line of 7 2/3IP 1ER) Looking pretty good... When does it cease to be 'oh we faced a great pitcher, that's why we sucked' or 'it was the first time we've seen this guy, we always suck in that situation', 'it's cold out', etc. and instead become WE ARE NOT A GOOD HITTING TEAM?
  17. I guess this dude's lived a pretty tough life if this doesn't make the top of the 'worst things i've ever seen' list. I still think it's absolutely unacceptable that there wasn't more urgency to get word out to campus. Flood email inboxes, flood the campus with security and police, put up road blocks, have RA's alert the residents what's going on if they're asleep and haven't checked their email... Those are four extremely simple measures that should have been common practice after 2 people on a college campus are murdered. I don't buy the analogy of a college campus being like a city in itself. Cities aren't interconnected via email. Cities don't have RA's looking over residents. And I really don't think this is hindsight. This should have been common sense. Hell, even if the second incident hadn't happened and you're a parent of a VA Tech kid, aren't you pissed off that more extreme measures weren't taken?
  18. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) I know they normally drop the guns but normally theyre wearing gloves or something I thought. The whole thing just seemed careless. Ya, I see your point about the physiological part about his first kill. I thought he was wearing gloves. I dug the episode and it had some great one-liners. Also, I heard Dan Jiggetts has a cameo in next week's episode.
  19. Seems like a strange law. Presumably they've done their time and in the eyes of the justice system are rehabilitated (or at the very least rehabbed enough to re-enter society). Whether they are or not isn't what important. If the rehabilitation system in place isn't believed to do anything in the way of changing offenders and making them better prepared to flourish in society upon their release, then why not just lock them up for life? I'm not sure if I buy into what I'm saying, but if I was one of those dudes this would be my line of thinking.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) "VICTORRRRY!" -Jonny Drama haha I'll take it. Feels great to get the first one out of the way.
  21. I called Comcast (well, not Comcast in Chicago but Comcast in New Hampshire) and the lady said that it wasn't going to be in their system until next week. I don't know if that means we can't order it until next week but the free preview will be starting prior to that or if nothing will be available until next week. There was an announcement on probably Tuesday by iNDemand that when and if an agreement was reached, they would have it available to order for consumers within an hour. I guess that was bogus.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) So is it official, no more Xtra Innings on cable? Or is there still breathing room? I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic about it right now. I've been following it on this site and the dude running the site has been updating it regularly. If you scroll through the comments there are some encouraging tidbits. I flew home last weekend for the sole purpose of setting up a slingbox at my parents' house. For the $550 I spent on airfare and the slingbox itself, I'm far from happy with the picture quality. It's comparable to mlb.tv in that the data transfer speed is in the range of 300kbps to ~1mbps. The only upside is I'll be able to catch Bears and Bulls games. This sucks but ...
  23. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) The thing I do not like about this situation is that our catchers have no shot of defending against a knuckleball (ie see Boston last year). Dude, don't worry about that. If it comes to that point, KW will make a last second trade to reacquire Chris Stewart. He'll be jetted into Chicago and get a police escort to the park to catch Haeger's start. Trust me, I know how these things work.
  24. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) Does anyone still have Ozzie's email address? I think I might make a personal plea for BA. ozzieguillen13@hotmail.com, if you were serious. And he actually wrote me back last year. Granted, it was a 3 word response.....
