Kind of slightly bummed Bears didn’t do this. They had to have had the ability to pull him. Either way me complaining does no good. Let’s go Poles/Flus. Most importantly - Fields - I hope you are putting in a ton of work this offseason and take things next level next year!!!

Wait - Harbaugh went to Miami?

No Pep - he is staying put but some Smoke Brady might be headed to Bears as QB coach. (Joe Brady not Tom). I want Callahan a lot as oline coach.

Now go get me Pep or someone else real good to help with Fields. I was once excited that the Bears hired Terry O’Shea so hopefully this isn’t that equivalent but it seems like people think he is a super bright offensive mind.

This move has me super excited. Tremendous hire and great to see they are adding to the front office.

This - they could have had literally the same content but if they did it in a better order we all would have enjoyed it better. Like you I liked the backstory but when it was broke down into so many small pieces it just got annoying.

Vuc played trash defense as did the others. Pathetic overall defensive performance and real bad coaching not adjusting to that torching. Just a hard game to watch. Better clean that up. With that said - if they hit more of their wide open 3s they win that game. But three straight games with weak 2nd halves.

Alright - lets keep the streak alive with a 3rd straight win, in this case on the road.

I would like that move very much. They did hire a db coach and lb coach from Colts (not sure on what their roles will be on Bears staff).

I like Gary Kubiaks son. Presume he is out in Minny with the change but I thought he did a nice job as OC last year. Cousins had a pretty darn good year. If he is half as good as his dad he will be a good one and I love zone blocking / shanny running style.

Pep being involved in this is the one thing that gets me excited - and to your point - if he really just loves working with young QB's - that would be great. I have assumed he may want to move into an OC role and be able to show case that (but maybe to your point that isn't actually what he is interested in).

Yeah - I'm not worried about defense - but in particular - you get a bunch of smart people and one who hasn't led a full offense - and do you end up with chaos, egos and other stuff. I don't know - just something to watch for.

The one thing I will say is - it seems odd to have green / first time OC's coming in when you have a defensive based HC. I would have expected an OC who had been there. Don't get me wrong - seems like bright individuals - but they are just so green and if you get too many smart minds and a green chief (as OC) - will you end up with the cohesion needed.

I don't remember this - but it could be true - I know there were some buffet tables flipped by KW from time to time in the clubhouse. Or I think it was KW that did that.

Seems like they are trying to get this guy for OC and Pep for passing game coordinator/QB coach.

I am hoping that more than Poles is doing the interview.

Just get Doug Pederson and keep DeFillipo. Pederson is a super nice dude by all accounts and know how to run an offense and design them around his QB. He knows Filipo well from his previous time and I like there chances of helping Fields.

One could only hope. That or I hope he spent a lot of time perfecting his game. Dear lord was he bad in the booth.

Yeah - not that position necessarily correlates to vision - but both of these guys understand the importance of the trenches (and I think there organizations also have shown that knack - Eagles and Chiefs have invested heavily in the line; just look at how he Chiefs retooled between last year and this year after Mahome's got hit too much in the Super Bowl). The quote from Pioli is pretty exciting. Honestly - I am pretty stoked about Poles.

Yeah - I assume all new defensive staff. Offense will be interesting though. Maybe Doug Pederson comes to run the offense. I keep throwing out names haha. I'm sure even with 20 names thrown out as potential OC's I will be wrong and it will be a name I didn't include.

I will also point out - Beckham was one of the players I was more wrong about - in terms of how their career panned out. I thought he was a shoe-in for 2000 hits and at a minimum a long above average career. That rookie year his swing was compact, with power to opposite field. Dude was an extra base machine, but between his rookie year and following year - something happened mechanically and he could never get back to that short swing he had. Defensively he had plenty of great plays.

Haha - I just assumed when he was commenting on games that hew as already officially retired. Little did I know he was hoping to get one final call to play some more 2B.

Tabor headed to Panthers for the same rule. Kind of bummed cause I think special teams was pretty solid. That said - can't blame Tabor for going there and maybe the new HC was going another direction anyway. I would have thought if Tabor could stay in Chicago he would have preferred it - more safety with Eberflus vs. Rhule (who is clearly on the hot seat).

Congrats - I really wish Lavine somehow was starting too. He really has been so unselfish and welcome of Demar. Lavine will obviously be on the team though.

Reports that Poles has targeted Ian Cunningham, director of player personnel from the Eagles for a high ranking front office job in Chicago. I don't know much about Cunningham, other than despite some dysfunction between GM & HC - they have largely done a pretty good job on the talent front (IMO). I will also note that Cunningham has been with Eagles prior 5 years and before that was a scout in the Ravens org. Without knowing whether Cunningham is good or bad - I like the fact that while Poles/Cunningham evidently are close - his hire wasn't purely someone from his own org and Cunningham has worked in two orgs that are known for finding some talent. I am curious whether this will be an add or is it a replacement. I am hoping to see a bit of an expansion of the front office (from what it was). I am also curious to see what happens with Poles/Champ Kelly.
