  1. If Sarge Jr. plays like he did the past two years this isn't a bad move. That said its a lot of money but the Angels desperately needed help in CF and help defensively and Matthews does both. But wow, 5 years is too long.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) Sounds like Alamo Bowl for Iowa. They get a better bowl in 2006 when they are 6-6 then we got when we were 8-3 in 2000. Boo. Its great to travel well. This is good because we still have a bowl to sell recruits to. Our season went as bad as it could get and they still were 6-6. Its a long ways from when Ferentz first came to down. That said what an incredibly dissapointing season, but I'm glad I get to see them one last time on the year.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) I am pretty sure you can set up the 2nd wireless router and just configure it to only distribute the signal and not try fighting with the other one for command. But would I be able to hard plug into that 2nd router (which is my main goal)?
  5. Jeter should have won it.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 11:23 AM) What exactly is it that suggests Nomah will be playing 3rd? Did somethign happen to Betemit? I don't know if you caught the Times/Register after Pierre signed, but Nomar said he was very open to playing 3rd base and Coletti mentioned that as well. Specifically they were talking about how Loney would play first with Nomar at 3rd. Personally speaking I think it would be idiotic because I think Betemeit is pretty damn solid. And by no means was it 100% set in stone that Nomar would play 3rd, rather it was just said as a possibility because they want Loney at first or in the field (and obviously he could also play RF, but from the sounds of it they are trying to find a Rfer).
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) I enjoy "How I Met Your Mother." Ya, its a good show. Don't get to watch it too much but when I do I laugh.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 08:57 AM) some told me that NPH came out last week... kind of surprised by that one. Ya, it was funny...was at a party and after it we were going to go see Borat...first thing that comes up on my friends cell phone is a message saying NPH came out.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Some people are blind to certain systems for instance... some people will only buy a ps3 no matter what because they had a ps2 and ps1 b4 that and its the same thing for people who had an xbox. Also there is the fact that the 360 came out earlier and right now is easier to get..... and than there is the halo which is a major selling point too. But unless you are a huge halo fan and have to get it, the ps3 is by far the better unit and considering what I said about costs its not really a big difference at all when it comes down to it. But hey, if you want a 360... im not going to stop you. Also the Wii is so different from both of these systems that if you have the cash I would suggest buying it along with one of the ps3/360. Xbox also has a firmware update that allows you to play *b*rned* games. So no mod chip crap. But ya, I think Microsoft is going to have to do something about the lack of wireless (having to pay an extra 90) and the fact that you have to pay for online service. That said it works seamlessly with your computer network which is a major plus.
  10. QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Just want to see how many ppl here play or played football on thanks giving. Me and some friends always try to make it out to play. Every year I have Thanksgiving with my family around 2 and than after that I do it all over again with all my friends later on in the evening (my friends mom has a zillion leftovers so we just all come over and mooch) but prior to eating the 2nd meal we have a yearly pigskin game.

I have two thanksgivings every year and the one I do with all my friends we do a deep fried bird in addition to a regular one and I think I'm the only one that prefers the regular bird. That siad the deep fried turkey tends to be real juicy, but I like the flavor from the regular bird (cooked in the oven).

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) There is a wireless adapter for xbox you can buy on ebay for cheap. It works really well. Is that the one thats like 90 bucks? Cause I'm hoping I could do it another way because that adapter is just wireless A which is pretty old school (unless I'm an idiot cause I thought N is going to be the latest version...when it comes up and G is the standard version, B was the one before that). If not I'll just have to suck it up and pay the 90 bucks cause I can't wait to watch streaming high def on my DLP.
  13. The Thomas signing was also awful. Nomar at 3rd base is gonna be a joke and he'll be hurt in no time. I don't give that much money to guys that have proven over a relatively long period that they can't stay healthy.
  14. I'm glad we did this. Nanita ain't going in the major league portion of the draft and I doubt Marshall will either, but none of them are Fabio Castro. Last year we had extra space and still had Castro unprotected and this year the Sox realized they can always dump these guys from the 40 if they need to, so why not protect them (especially in the case of Phillips). That said I don't expect them to all stick around, I just think it gives Kenny time to move some of them as throw ins.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) I'm surprised you of all people would consider Danks and Young equals. Young is one hell of a prospect, dont get me wrong, but getting an arm like Danks is much, much more valuable than an outfielder like Young. I like Danks, but Young was our first special prospect in a long time. I typically rate pitching over hitting, but not in Young's case. He could very well be a perennial all star and I rarely say that about prospects (especially ours).
  16. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) But that top of the order...whew...Pierre and Furcal. That's some major speed up there. Unless the Dodgers would want to part with Furcal? I think that will be a real nice 1-2 punch for the Dodgers and in the NL that will really be nice for them. A bit too many years/money but he's a good player who is vastly under-rated and appreciated on this board. Again, another team that can afford to spend an extra couple million a year as they work to restore there fan base now that a 2nd team has stole there thunder (see Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim).
  17. I'm pretty sure it was a tommy john that he had.

Alright, I have a netgear G wireless router thats in the upstairs of my house. Downstairs is where my computer is and it obviously is hooked up via my wireless network. What I want to know is whether it is possible for me to set up a 2nd wireless router downstairs (I have an extra one from work) and than hook up my xbox360 into that network (via an ethernet cable, which would prevent me from having to spend 90 bucks or so on a stupid wireless signal thing for the xbox). Plus I assume having something like that could also boost the signal strength for the rare times I use my work laptop wihle at home. I assume this has to be possible, but I want to make sure. Also does anyone know if its relatively easy to do or is it gonna be one big pain in the rear?

I'm gonna buy the 360 later today at Costco and set it up. I was won over when I realized I could stream high definition content I have on my computer to my big screen. Of course I don't have XP Media Center but apparently you can still do it, I'm just going to have to figure out how. Plus I can stream all my music over.
  20. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) Exactly. Time for someone else to get a shot, unless usc, nd, ark, and fla lose all lose another game. I don't care if michigan is indeed the #2 team in the land...what's clear is they aren't #1, and that's all that matters. And like Rowand, i'm sick of people touting saturday's game as the game of the century. It was far, far from it. The game of the century goes to the Trojans/Longhorns in last years National Championship game. Now that was an amazing game. This OSU-Michigan game was good and exciting but I wouldn't call it a legendary game.
  21. Iowa played a pretty solid game against Alabama. They led most of the first half until finishing the half down a bucket and than were not able to overcome a ton of foul trouble (big's were all in foul trouble) and Bama pulled away and won by 12 (there biggest lead of the game). Still, our true freshman Smith is looking fantastic, Freeman (whose already a good defensive guard) seems to have really improved his shot (and he's a good all around athlete) and we have the veteran Haluska thats a pretty darn good all around player (although I am curious to see if he can create his own shot). And down low Tate and Gorney look like they will be capable. In fact I think Tate could turn into a beast with time. Iowa has a chance at being better than I expected (which was a team that would find itself sweating out selection Sunday on the bubble). I think they are capable of planting themselves squarely into the tourney if they stay healthy and continue to improve (and Alford's players always tend to get better each and every year.
  22. Omogrosso....gonna be good.
  23. I don't get it, yes it was a close game (by the scoreboard) but at no time in the game did I actually think Michigan was going to win that football game. OSU was the better football team even after making mistakes and it will be an absolute JOKE if Michigan gets a rematch. USC, ND or Fla/Ark should be playing. If both Fla and USC win well that will be interesting as can be because both deserve it over Michigan but I can't make a legitimate case for why either deserve it over each other. And if ND wins I still think they are screwed just because of that loss to Michigan (even though we played like absolute crap with a zillion turnovers). Best case for Michigan is if ND and Ark win. Even then I don't think they deserve to play OSU again. Yada Yada yada....close score, but if you watched the game unbiasly I dont think anyone can tell me that it really was that close. People could say the Fiesta bowl at times last year was a close game (score wise) but as a ND fan I could tell you that we were completely outclassed by OSU and never had a chance to win that football game.
