Slave Labor. Pretty much everyone alive during that time and around them was essentially forced. Or at least thats my theory. Although Aliens would be way cooler.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Hey Jason, where'd you get such a good copy of this? I downloaded it off limewire. Although I googled it too and saw WSI had a cool page with other songs which I've been listening too. WSI also has a really good copy of the song (I'm assuming its the exact same copy as the one I downloaded off of limewire). Here's the link to that WSI Page
  3. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Great sweep for the Sox. When you play crappy teams like the Dodgers, the Sox have to win the series at minimum and do everything possible to actually sweep One note though - keep in mind that the winnign run was actually a lucky run since Pods looked out at 1B.....no biggie just a note. In a bang-bang play, who knows whether he was really out or not ONe more note - the ESPN announcers were certainly giving a lot of praise to the White SOx. I loved it Ya, Joe Morgan was really complimenting them. Hell, I was looking at my dad going when are they going to talk about the Dodgers.
  4. I must be the only one who says good riddance. I expected nothing out of Duque when they signed him and as far as I'm concerned he's done more than I ever thought he would (he is well over .500) and now Bmac's gonna come in and kick some butt. If Duque gets healthy later on fine, thats a good problem to have.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Haha that song is pimp. Bring that back. I'm planning on sending Brooks an email (as if he hasn't heard from enough people already, lol).
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) Jas, you said somethings just weren't right with Brandon when he got back down to Charlotte, could you elaborate?? Can't comment on that, but to say the least Brandon didn't enjoy Charlotte and that ballpark.
  7. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) I definately think that they should use it during the games. It seemed like our whole section was doing the go go chant during the 8th and 9th inning. It was awesome. Boz didn't like it at first, but I think he was getting into it later in the game. I was going nuts when they were playing late in the game. Its just so darn catchy. Plus it brings back some history to the club. I just think it would be awesome to make it a mainstay at the park.
  8. For those that don't know what I'm talking about: Go Go Go White Sox
  9. I've said it for a while, but Bmac is gonna take over the spot in the rotation and he's not going back to the minors.
  10. I'm assuming this was the song they used to play back in the olden days for the Sox. Anyway, I don't know what the rest of you at the series thought but I freaking love the song. Personally I think they should make it a part of the game, use it late in games as a semi rally builder. I'm probably crazy with this, but I grew up listening to the Dodgers game and they always start of the radiocast with Its a beautiful day for a ball game (The Song) and for my dad and even me (I'm not even a Dodger fan) hearing that song pumps me up (especially when it signals the start of the season). The Sox should so start using this more. End of randomass rant
  11. Looks like its more likely he's going on Monday now.
  12. Goosen choked like a mofo.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) what's the chances of Monday, I'm math impared 75%...I like hedging my bets
  14. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) It was a great game! We ended up standing over near the fan deck for 3 innings before moving to the 2nd row in the outfield near the Dodgers pen. Thanks again for getting us into the 100 level and it was very nice meeting the father of soxtalk. Father sounds too old...I prefer grand master Wait, on second though...if I'm the father, than I should check the mail...I expect gifts from you all

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) He already did the hardest part, founding someone that would breed with him I kid, cause I care™ Better yet...somone thats not his cousin or sister
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Is B-Mac pitching on Monday or Tuesday? I heard Tuesday originally and thats still the main indication, however there has also been some talk of him going on Monday. If I were to go out on a limb I'd say its a 75% that he'll start on Tuesday.
  17. QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) They were never the main team on WGN. Both teams got equal play on WGN. My bad, didn't word it right, but it was evenly based and than when the Sox moved to UHF, the Cubs upped there numbers (Basically replacing the # of Sox games) and then WGN became the superstation (nationally) and the rest is history. Regardless, the past is the past, and this is now....Sox got the best record in baseball, a good complete team, and if they play good baseball, they'll do alright. Just take it one day at a time
  18. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) I just remembered Texas bashed our brains in...I like him facing the Royas better Texas was also the one team that clobberknocked him in spring training (Bmac wasn't feeling good in the game either, had some issue with his finger and was sick). All I'm going to say is this, he's gonna get his first major league win against KC, whether its Monday or Tuesday.
  19. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) Damn Jason, you must have been busy today; flying back to Cali, catching the Angels game, and writing the article. Thanks for the info on the situation. You know it...On an unrelated sidenote, it was nice meeting you and hopefully you guys had a good time at the game. I know that may of been the best Sox game I've ever seen in person (in 2000 I saw them come back and beat the Halos and Percy in Anaheim which was the former #1). We were flipping out.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Venezuela = Santana, Zambrano, Freddy Garcia. They also get magglio. But I can't really think of any other stars from there. Panama= Carlos Lee. But that pitching staff could dominate. The lineup wasn't anything special. I think Mario Valenzuela was projected on it (former Sox farm hand). You know me, I can't make a post where I don't botch at least one thing
  21. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Me, I am basing the vacation time I have left on the world series, if the white sox make it I am traveling to whatever city it would be held. Hopefully the American League will win the All Star game and I won't have to travel anywhere. I've waited my whole life for this, I ain't gonna miss it. * Hypothetically speaking * Anyone else wanna join me? My hope is one round they play the Angels. I'll stay in town for that. Than the next round or the round they weren't in Anaheim I'd go see them (either in Chicago or in a city close to me). I have a few frequent flyer free flights saved up for this instance. When it came to the series, I hope they are playing SD or LA or even Arizona as I could make the drive and see some of the games there. Although I would make sure to see one World Series game at the cell and would ask everyone I freaking new with any potential connections to get me tickets. Oh my god, it would be amazing. I already got a world series fund saved up, plus the few free travel tickets (just waiting )
  22. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:05 PM) Argh... No, ESPN was misleading you.. The Sox used to be on WGN all the time back in the day, but they decided to move their games to a new channel. Which ended up not being a wise move. This is what they we're talking about. You can still watch them on WGN. They obviously read the article in the suntimes today. I disected the entire suntimes while on the almost 4 hr plane flight home
  23. QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) They've also said that the Sox arent on WGN TV anymore. They were referring to how the Sox were the main team on WGN way back when an Veeck (or whoever it was) ended up pulling them and putting them on some other station (UHF or something) and than of course Jerry bought the team and put them on cablevision (I think thats what it was called, which was a precursor to pay-per-view) and thas is when Harray left.
  24. Chisoxfn replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
Thankfully I have no kids. But Happy Fathers Day to you all Also Dad, my gift to you for Fathers Day, was that whooping the Sox just handed the Dodgers...YES!!!!!
  25. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Then why don't you go and marry them... Cause they don't allow gay marriages in Texas
