Accounting Firm that Audited Enron NOT GUILTY
Whats worse with KPMG is the firm is bailing on its partners and not protecting them on lawsuits. I've heard a lot of KPMG's real good partners are leaving too. I know they've had a lot of problems with tax shelters (the not so legal kind) and than on the audit side they haven't exactly been conservative.

Accounting Firm that Audited Enron NOT GUILTY
QUOTE(Fotop @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) Makes me glad that I'm a Finance Major. But it's not like the job market is all that great anyways. Going to be a FUN time locking down a job this year. Trust me, the grass is very green on the accounting side. With the additional SOX (Sarbanes Oxley..the 404 audit) work all the major firms are understaffed and they are hiring like crazy.

Poor Buddy Bell
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Ouch! They're already 20 1/2 behind us! He hasn't done jack s*** before with Detroit or Colorado. I don't think things will change here. Maybe Cincy or Colorado will be looking for a new skipper soon. Then Manuel can take the reigns there. I always wonder how the same retread can get hired so many times. Of course I considered Phil Garner in that mold and he actually did a good job with the Astros last year.

KPMG is the next most likely to pull an AA, imo.

Brian Miller Released
I'm assuming he doesn't have much stuff. He gives up a boatload of hits without striking out that many.

FutureSox Update
Nope, I can't touch the futuresox.com domain. I wish there was something I could do...I've begged and pleaded and made a few calls to England. Finally though it looks as if I've found the right avenue. The form I filled out said 5 days so I'm hoping somehow for once It will be done even faster. The key to this issue is that the original company that set up the domain (I bought it through the company that originally did FS hosting and now they are like non-existent) needs to release the registar and give me control. There is no dispute in the fact that I'm owner, its just bs type stuff to get me in control (I can only hope that company responds quickly though and than says yes).

FutureSox Update
I know I have made mention to it but there were some issues with the domain and the site has been down for about 4 days now (happened at the worse time too). During those 4-5 days I've probably sent out 50 emails and have finally started to get some responses and have filled out and faxed a form back to the company to dispute what has gone on. They told me the issue should be cleared up in roughly 5 days (which will put me back in control). There may be another 24 window to reupdate the dns once that goes into effect, but after that the site should be up. Before I leave town on Wednesday to go to internetless Iowa (ie my grandparents house) I'll be emailing Dan a series of draft articles that were meant for the site. If the site is back online they'll be up there (hopefully it will make it back up by draft day..cross your fingers) If it isn't we'll just have FS coverage on this site and if you know people that frequent FS and they ask about it, please tell them it will be up in a few days. All our emails are down and everything and its been a royal pain in the ass. Anyway just wanted to give you all a heads up on the situation. Once its back we plan on banging out a lot of really nice draft pieces, a couple potential interviews of draft picks, and of course the Dave Wilder interview

Ranking the General Managers
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) His formula? Like spending close to 150 million dollars? I'm sorry, but it's obvious that John Scheurholz, along witth the people who he's put around him, make thes GM/whatever. For Schueroltz to be behind Williams, whatever formula he is using is a total joke. I love Kenny Williams but Schueroltz is probably the best in the biz. You don't win 15 straight division titles by luck and its not all him but it starts at the top.

Vernon Wells on the trading block?
QUOTE(knightni @ May 28, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Dye, Baj and Tracey might get him. I'd be the happiest man alive if thats all it took. I'd be willing to give up Sweeney if it was necessary.

Accounting Firm that Audited Enron NOT GUILTY
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 31, 2005 -> 06:57 AM) Wow. There is still no chance of AA getting back into the game is there? It's funny cuz like a year before the Enron scandal broke, one of my HS teachers told us how his son-in-law was offered a great job at AA but turned it down and he didn't understand why. I guess he lucked out on that one. No, AA isn't allowed to practice. The only AA employees left are the attorneys that are around and the few people helping with the handling of all their lawsuits. AA was really really screwing up and it wasn't just in the Enron audit.

Outside the Lines
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) This is true, but it sure as hell seems to me he has money on the opposing teams more often than not. He makes alot of bone headed decisions more and i am not one of those people that says it after it happens. When i see something weird as hell going on i question it to see if anyone knows the answer why. More often than not he stumps everyone. I'll say this. I hate how he handles the bullpen but for the most part I love how he handles the starting rotation. Today was just totally boneheaded in terms of the guys he used off the bench. Can't wait for Gloadie to be back up.

5/30 Games
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) You know what, if Kenny needs to make a big move at the deadline, I hope that Josh Fields is one of the top chips, as opposed to a guy like Brian Anderson, who's hit everywhere he's been. I'm just sayin', it would be a real shame to see a second OF'er traded at or near the deadline (both guys who produced a helluva lot in the minors, too). Personally I'm a big Schnurstein fan. I think he'll slowly develop into a guy that could turn into a .300 hitter in the majors. It will be interesting to see how he progresses this year as well as to see what Fields does. I tend to agree with Keith though in the sense that even though the Sox have nothing else at 3rd (although I'm high on Schnurstein) I would probably deal him over Anderson as well.

Any News on...
I had heard that they would be signed. There was a lot of talk that Boras was feeling the pressure and if he didn't get them signed his clients would really get hammered this year (more than previous years). This is actually a semi decent sign cause it may mean a few more teams take a chance on a Boras client.

Worthless f***

SOX vs. Angels 5-30-05
What part of Everett and Timo blow ass does Ozzie not understand. Whether Carl comes through or not this is just a piss poor decision.

SOX vs. Angels 5-30-05
Why the f*** do you pinch hit Everett here. Iguchi is this teams best hitter.
