  1. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:13 PM) Has anyone mentioned that the White Sox are 10 games under .500 when playing teams not named the Minnesota Twins or the Seattle Mariners? I think we were just fooled by this team....too much smoke and mirrors for too long. Everyone knew Detroit was a better team going into 2012....it just took them until the last week of the regular season to exert their superiority. What's depressing is that there is so little to look forward to in 2013. The rotation will be Sale-Floyd-Danks QUESTION MARK - QUESTION MARK. And that's adding to the fact that Floyd and Danks are question marks in their own right. Sure, the team will be $24 million lighter with Peavy and Pierzynski leaving (although they really should re-sign AJ), but what evidence is there that the Sox will be spending this offseason? Not to mention the GAPING hole at 3B. Take the Royals and Tigers out of the equation and this team had a pretty great record.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 07:11 AM) Ran out of gas or got a couple of flat tires sounds about right. They wouldn't have been in position to win if they hadn't pushed their pitchers like Sale, Quintana and Peavy earlier. De Aza gets hurt, Youkilis is breaking down, Dunn pulls a muscle, Konerko needs wrist surgery a ton of rookie pitchers......for a team that was flawed to begin with its asking a lot for them to keep overcoming these things. I thought they would, but I don't think the future is nearly as dark as some think. Completely agree. Tough ending but it was a pretty fun year and one that has me feeling better about the franchises near term future.
  3. Glad they got Thibs inked!!!
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 05:54 AM) Im guessing that Forte doesnt play against Jacksonville on Sunday. While he had a decent game, he was definitely favoring his ankle after that first run of the game. Marshall is a damn beast, he was absolutely manhandling Brandon Carr all night long. And the defense was "bend dont break" all night last night, the turnovers were huge. Oh, and LOL Dez Bryant. Dude is way too caught up in his own hype. He will play and he had some really nice looking runs during the 1st half. 2nd half the Cowboys played with an extra man in the box which slowed him down a bit but it opened up the passing lanes.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 06:22 AM) That was just a thorough, team victory. You could see Cutler gaining confidence in that second half, confidence he sorely needed. Things are looking good with the Jags on Sunday afternoon and then the BYE. Jags have a good D and this is in the NFL. Bears better not get too high (like they did after the Colts win). Nice win and the offense made a lot of progress. Good job by the oline to protect and a nice mix of play calling.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 06:49 PM) Will they ever call a hold on Dallas O line? I was wondering this all game. My goodness, they must have gotten away with 10 blatant holding penalties.
  7. Just win baby, just win. DABEARS!
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 07:18 AM) If a decent offer came for Rios, he'd be gone in a second if I was in charge. Too much salary, and history shows he'll regress big time next year. I'd then slide De Aza to left, Viciedo to right, and go after another CF if I didn't get one in return. I won't be surprised when he's traded.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) Well, what is it? Certainly isn't this year. Then again, I haven't paid much attention to the history. I don't think losing a 3 game lead to be a giant choke. Especially when the team was limping late and to be frank had numerous pitchers that were well in excess of what they had pitched the past couple years and you had 2 of your 3 best offensive players dealing with injuries (Dunn/Konerko).
  10. QUOTE (WhiteSoxNews @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) What part of the team is in a larger slump, the WhiteSox pitching staff, or their hitting offense. What are your thoughts? How is this even up for debate? The rotation hasn't been bad at all during this losing streak. Offense has been brutal all month.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) He apparently hinted at it according to Boers and Bernstein. Bring back DJ and reunite that great booth. Chemistry between Hawk/Stone is bad, so I don't have a problem with it.
  12. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 08:51 AM) Honestly the offense wasn't any better than last week with exception we faced a crappier team. Cutler has played like s*** even when given time the last 2 games and when the Colts got a little pressure early he even started like s*** that game. The defense was very good and we have got a lot of sacks last 2 games which is a plus. The Cowboys are 2-1 but like us it hasn't been the prettiest path the last 2 weeks so hopefully we come out and beat them and can go into bye week with a 4-1 record (Just assuming we beat Jags). Had they caught the ball, Cutler would have thrown at a 60% completion rate with zero picks and there would have been more points on the board. Cutler wasn't great, but he wasn't terrible either. Offense struggled to generate points and is still not playing crisp, but given the multitude of new personell, I expect it to take time. There were also a couple incompletions where Cutler had to immediately throw the ball away. I was tracking his passes and outside of a throw to Bennett, there wasn't much that Cutler missed on. There were a couple of times where he forced the ball to Marshall, but as a whole, he played relatively efficient given the drops, etc. Average game.
  13. City of Industry has also been one of the frontrunners for a new NFL team. Not many people, but a decent amount of business there. Population isn't the issue anyway as it is smack in the middle of a pretty populated area. Either way, Moreno has to get an alternative site so he has better leverage with the city of Anaheim.
  14. I'm pretty excited about the Bears. Must be the only one, but the defense has looked amazing and I expected the offense to struggle early as it created its identity. I expect it to potentially have a couple down games, but as a whole, continue to improve to the point where it is a top 10 offense in this league. This will be a very good football team by season end.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) Ten days off and a brutal performance. Offensively, I should say. Some bad drops but otherwise I didn't think it was all that brutal. Bears kicked the Rams ass. Should have had some more points but line was improved (not good, but improved). They did really struggle to open up some holes in the 2nd half, but I'll be happy when Forte is back against the Boys.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) A feature that has been included in other operating systems for years now. I've been using the map quest app for a while solely for that reason.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 06:24 AM) Ok, I'll say it...Google Maps was better. The Yelp integration was nice, but I miss the transit map integration badly. I like the turn by turn feature. That is why I hated google maps and the fact that I will now have that, which I can play through my cars radio, is huge.
  18. Will be there. Forget which game I have tix to.
  19. Great way to start the series. Keep on winning baby!!!
  20. Hockey is abysmal on TV. I just feel bad for the fans.
  21. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) I moved and I haven't seen a game in a month. Are they all going with the stache look? Ya; A good chunk of players are sporting the rally staches.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) I'm over getting mad at Peavy. He is what he is. A pretty good, definitely not great, starting pitcher. He is hittable and the wheels can fall off at any point. He's OK, definitely in the upper half of starting pitchers, but he is far from dominant. He's not worth some huge contract, but a ton of starters in the bigs are overpaid as well as him. IF top 20 is upper half, then sure. There is no arguing that he has been a top 20 to top 25 pitcher in all of baseball this year. There are, if you assume 5 starters per team, over 150 starters. That puts him far more then just being in the upper half. Plus, what is it with some of you all. He gave up 2 runs and got the win.
  23. Love it. Sox win comfortable and Tigers blow one. Huge game tomorrow night. Lets go Sox!!!
