GT: White Sox @ A's 7/25, 3:05 CT, CSN
Would like alittle more consistency from ST posters. First it was "damn Huddy is a stud" from his last start and now "Huddy is overrated." He'll be more than fine no doubt in my mind. Pretty much an adjustment period for him. He was brutal the first month for AAA before dominating the last two months. He would be damn good if he was pitching like a reliever, but he is taking his slumps as a starter with more innings, more patient hitters, etc.. Honestly he is one of the least of my worries if he'll still be here in this pennant race.

7/23 Games
I like Gilmore alittle more than some.. but I think people are gonna be even more disappointed if/when he moves up to that Barons ballpark with his under-developing (so far) power, unless he still wants to continue to hit .330+.

Prince Fielder Speculation
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 11:11 PM) Again, this is where the market benefits the Sox. No one wants to pay the kings ransom for Prince and the Sox could pay less for Dunn and Fielder's price only goes down from here, so they may forcer the Brewers hand. Dunn is signed for two months (possibly three for a contender) and will be a Type A free agent. Prince is signed for one year and 2 months (possibly three for a contender) and will be a Type A free agent. The Brewers will be fine in value if they hold on to Prince for the rest of the season.

Magglio Ordonez Seriously Injured
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) In other words, he's bad. He's the Jim Hendry of the American League. No. He is either a rich man's Jim Hendry or Jim Hendry is a poor man's Dave Dombrowski. Dave is a much better GM. Hendry would never have the balls to sell high on his prospects to get a Miguel Cabrera type superstar.

Prince Fielder Speculation
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) If they are going to give us Fielder, my guess is the deal has to include Beckham with Hudson, Flowers for sure and maybe more. The GM will get run out of town if it's Viciedo in place of Beckham. Oddly enough, Greg is the only one that seems to hit the nail on the head. Most executives and guys with sources (also from what I've heard) have indicated any deal with Prince has to start with Beckham (or they cannot see any deal being made if the deal does not have Beckham + a prospect in it). Obviously KW will not do that. (especially with Beckham hitting again, and what we view him as) Now, I can see their asking price lowered possibly this comming off-season or by the deadline next season where a guy like Huddy would probably be the main prize (especially if he's more established, though who knows if the sox would need a 1B/DH by then) but as of right now, Prince (for us at least, maybe not other teams with better farms) is much more of a pipe dream than Adam Dunn.

July White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 05:27 AM) After not even viewing this site in weeks I decide to see what's going on. I start reading at page 21 of this thread and see two pages of bickering, sniping and name calling. Now I remember why I stopped coming on here. Sad to see... your a very good poster Yas. Hate to see when guys like you, qwerty, be good, etc.. "take a break." Brings the site down quite a bit.

Why doesn't Ozzie DH Viciedo?
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Does Steve Stone need to call out Ozzie for not starting Dayan?? It worked with Lou I said it before here if Steve Stone was not employed with the Sox, he would of called out Ozzie long ago on it.

Juan Pierre
QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) Pierre hasnt hit well enough to win one. Bingo. Someone finally hit it dead on. Sad to say it comes down to that, but that's the way it goes.

Saladino is gonna be a nice prospect to watch.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Only because of the fact that there we're a lot of King James' throughout history. I still didn't like it due to the fact he had no rings. I was gonna say... I like the King Felix nickname.

White Sox Trade Catch-All
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) I always felt like Greinke would end up on the Braves. They've got the pieces to do it. Don't know how much they want to overpay, but that would be incredible.

Bulls really like Asik. I believe he will get every opportunity to win the backup job over Thomas who is 38. If he winds up not playing well/adjusting to the NBA level, Thomas will easily step in and get his minutes. That is what good depth does. Bulls still need another shooter, but this is a very deep team.

Music Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Does anybody here like Nicki Minaj (for her actual rapping ability, not her Barbiedoll body)? I know she is annoying to a lot of people but about 10 days ago she started growing on me. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) She did a freestyle that I watched somewhere that made me take notice...but other than that, I can't stand her voice enough to give her a legit shot. Ya I never heard of her prior to Luda's new song a couple months ago. (and Usher's new one) Just another trend artist in the game that lacks longevity IMO. Plus a quick google search sees she has fake assets.. (though I still still mess around it )

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) Tonight's Futurama was great. I wasn't really sold on this season, but now I am. Agreed. Glad I caught most of the new episodes I didn't see. (missed one episode as I was busy screwing around with my new cell phone) Good to see it back.

Alberto Callaspo to the Angels
QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) What this really means is that we'll get to see more Chris Getz. Ned Yost said "Getzy is BIG in my plans", whatever that means. I honestly thought it would finally open the 3B spot up for Gordon. Ah well.

Regardless who NO gets in a Paul deal, unless they are trading Paul straight up for a guy like Rose, Williams or Wall, they are not gonna get equal value for a stud like Chris Paul.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) We've never seen a true lefty power hitter play 81 games though at PNC Park. You also have to wonder if he'll get better pitches to hit due to the Pirates being out of more games, as opposed to the Braves being a lot more competitive. Not arguing this year, but in his career? I think the Pirates will also be right up here in about four-five years when their guys develop.
