  1. Who are some other pitchers that are gonna get big raises in arbitration or that will be free agents after 2005 that might be on the block? Ben Sheets was a name that was thrown around a little last year. I wonder if for the right price he might be available.
  2. Hermanson sucks. We should have got Osuna or Shuey. I have no idea why we got this scrub. His numbers suck.

NO WAY WOULD I TRADE WILLY!!! He is a future .330/.450/50SB player! I wouldn't do that. There are plenty of other pitchers out there that fill our SP role without giving up two good players. I'm scared of Garlands potential so I don't want to deal him. As much as I would want Hudson. What other pitchers will be free agents after 2005? THey are all trade possibilities.

Drew is a cripple. The most games he has ever played in a season was 145 and that was this year (his contract year of course). Before that he never even played over 140 games!!!! How could you even consider this piece of s***? Sure he has talent but who is going to replace his talend the other 40 games he doesn't play. NO ON DREW!
  5. santo=dorf, Your avatar is AWESOME! Easy E Rules!
  6. Just a heads up. It's been scheduled before and not end up being on. If you aren't in the chicago area you can listen through there website at ESPN RADIO 1000.
  7. My bad. I had read somewhere that his GB/FB ratio was over 5. It may have been at sometime during the season or something. I checked ESPN and you were right.
  8. I hope plan B is Hudson. I really believe Beane would deal Hudson cause he probably won't extend his contract, he's got arms coming up and he needs bats. Since they dealt Redman they would probably require a pitcher in return which in our case could be Cotts or could be Garland. Even if we don't get Hudson I would prefer a ground ball pitcher over a power pitcher just cause we play in Coors Lite. Derek Lowe had a high ERA but his GB/FB ratio was over 5. Which to me means he was getting the ball up, his defense sucked, or just bad luck. He would be a good gamble and could end up relatively cheap $5-8/year. Plus I'm pretty sure he consistantly has a low number of walks.
  9. This song is for you now: Jose, Jose , Jose , Jose, Jooooose, Jooooooose
  10. How about the World Series we are gonna win without him???? Bring up McCarthy!!!
  11. I don' want Castillo or Podsednik. I think Harris can put up just as good numbers as Castillo and Podsednik sucks.
  12. Dec 7 is the last day teams can offer arbitration to their players. If we sign someone before then then we have to give up a draft pick. We we sign them after that then we don't have to give up a draft pick. Also, alot of players are getting alot of attention (Pavano, Wright, etc.) so the longer they wait the more they end up getting in the end.
  13. I don't know why everyone likes Posendnik so much. Especially over Rowand? I don't think so. Rowand is younger, better hitter, more power and just as cheap.
  14. I want Hudson bad. I wouldn't him playing for the Sox either....
  15. I read somewhere that the sox had offered 6 years $90 million.
  16. If my definition of a quality start is correct >=6IP
  17. I looked over Vazquez's game log and compared it to Garlands. They seem to have about the same number of quality starts. Vazquez appeared to be as inconsistent as Garland. What is the definition of a quality start? 6IP
  18. I say screw Johnson and Vazquez. We should try to pick up one of the big 3 from Oakland cause they are younger and cheaper or pickup a free agent so we don't have to give up any offense or prospects.
  19. Pitching wins ball games. Our offense is fine, we need to upgrade our pitching. Our pitching is OK to keep us in it right now but we need another big starter and a reliever to really put us over the edge.
  20. We could meet 2 of our 3 needs (starting pitcher and leadoff hitter) by taking Brown and Lofton off the Yankee's hands. I'm sure the Yankees would pay at least 50% of Brown's salary (it's a contract year for him so I'm sure he'll dominate) and supposedly the Yankees want to get rid of Lofton too. We could probably get both of them for next to nothing too.

I hope you are not talking about giving an unproven pitcher a 3 year $36 million dollar contract. No way will that happen. Anyone that gives him over 3 year $27 million dollar deal is nuts.
  22. I'd like to see who the Top 10 were last year and compare them to this year. That will let everyone know how over hyped alot of prospects are.
  23. Your other options are to watch the games over the internet on www.mlb.com. Their single game price is around $2 and the entire season is like $40. I'm sure it will work with dial up internet but would be alot better if you had DSL or cable internet. I watched one game last year and it was pretty good.
  24. We all know Reinsdorf has money. I think if we get Johnson JR might pull some money out of his butt and really put together a contender. This is the same guy that spent $30million/year for Jordan & $10million/year for Belle. I just don't think he is stupid enough to just spend money and expect to win (reference to the Rangers/Mets).
  25. What right moves did he not make? We probably had one of the most talented teams in baseball in 2003 but they just didn't get the job done. I don't agree with everything KW has said or done but he has put a quality team on the field year after year. Last year sucked cause we lost Maggs for 3/4 of the seasons and Frank for 1/2 but we still finished 9 games out. I'm tired of everyone bashing KW. His job is to put a good team on the field year by year. It's the players job to then win.
