  1. I say leave Willie in the lineup but swap him and Rowand. Let Rowand lead off. Yeah Willie has more speed but the only thing he has used that speed for so far is to run back into the dugout.
  2. Speaking of contract negotiations. I came across this website that has salary and contract information for all major league players. http://www.bluemanc.demon.co.uk/baseball/mlb/mlbcona.htm There are alot of overpaid mo-fos in MLB. Abreu??? Give me a break.
  3. I over reacted when I said the bullpen sucks. What I meant to say was they suck with inherited runners. It seems like 75% of them have scored this year.
  4. Yeah they're ERA is low but it seems like every inherited runner this year has scored. Like the two just now the Politte inherited.
  5. I say we give Danny Wright another 3 years. In the mean time we can continue to make excuses for his s***ty pitching. s*** or get off the pot.
  6. Just think of how good our pitching is doing now and how much better they'll be once they stop walking everybody. WE NEED DAN WRIGHT TO PULL IT TOGETHER. s*** OR GET OFF THE POT.
  7. I would give Maggs 5 years for $60million but no more. The Mariners said good bye two three future Hall Of Famers: Randy Johnson, Griffey and A-Rod, and they are always contenders. A's said good bye to Giambi and Tejada and they are still contenders. Magglio is good but unfortunately he plays the most replacable position in baseball, the outfield. Don't forget we have Bochard, Reed, Sweeney and Anderson waiting in the minors.

    Koch

Koch needs an offspeed pitch. It appears as though all he throws are fastballs, hard sliders and hard cutters. I think he could be awesome if he came up with a change up or splitter. It would at least keep the batters honest.
  9. Politte is a short reliever. He did his job for 1 1/3 don't press your luck. And bringing Marte in for Koch was a total Jerry Manuel move. Yes there are 161 more games left but the good teams win the games they are suppose to. Like when you are up by 4 runs in the 9th and have to get out the bottom of the KC lineup. I bet we lose the division by 1 game. This one.
  10. I want to see Cotts out there. His numbers from the minors (I know it's just the minors) were NASTY!!!! He could be a real stud.
  11. I'm going for Kornerko. He's got the potential to destroy.
  12. Maggs is as good as gone. We'll probably have an outfield of Lee, Rowand and Reed next year. If Bochard doesn't make a splash this year he will probably be dealt. Is Kornerko going to be a free agent after this year too?? If so that is another $8mil freed up taking us to $28mil. Then we could get that much needed left handed bat named Delgado and if Loiza and Garland have good years extend their contracts. We could end up with tons of talent if our prospects come through: Pitching Cotts - this year or next Rauch - this year or next Diaz - this year or next Fielders Reed - this year or next Bochard - this year or next Valenzuela - within 2 years Gload - this year Sweeney - within 2 years Anderson - within 2 years
  13. If Rowand has a good season and any of our young outfielders have a good season then watch the Sox make a half ass offer to Maggs at the end of the season. Then watch him go and Reed, Bochard or someone else replace him. I wouldn't pay him over $12million/yr. He didn't hit over 30hr and didn't even have over 100 RBI. If you want over $10million a year then you should be putting up numbers like Pujols.
  14. Black Jack rules. He is one of the best pitchers I've ever seen. His stuff was never that awesome but he threw strikes and wasn't a pussy.
  15. mmmmmmm a box score. I can smell baseball coming....
  16. Velocity means nothing. It's all about control. Just ask Keith Foulke.
  17. I'd love to be a pitcher in the American League right now. There would be no greater feeling then going into Yankee Stadium and shutting down that entire lineup. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it only takes one good pitcher to shutdown 9 great batters. And that pitcher is Schoenwais
  18. I'm saying that the production they lost by trading Soriano and losing Boone has not been made up by gaining A-Rod. They are still down a good player. Not as if they need it though. The A-Rod deal probably wasn't done for the numbers but to rub it in the Redsox face.
  19. Add .5 to the Cubs ERA cause they are in the National League, no DH.
  20. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but the Yankees basically swapped one good hitter for another. They still haven't replaced Boone's bat and the health of their pitching staff is still a weakness. I'd also like to add that Tom Hicks needs to get out of baseball. He is the biggest dumbass on the face of the earth.
  21. Our top 3 starters right now Buehrle, Loaiza and Garland are still better than KC's May, Anderson and George? and Minnesota's Radke, Santana and Lohse. I think Colon is a stud but he is overrated. He has great stuff but his ERA was over 4 for most of the season. He gave up 2 home runs to Ichiro in one game for god sakes. If Garland starts pitching with some balls and one of our prospects steps up then you'll never here Colon's name mentioned again.
  22. I don't think KC was a fluke last year. They had a great year and didn't have Beltran for most of the first month and didn't have Sweeney for 1/3 of the season. So a healthy Sweeney, Beltran and Gonzalez could put up some big numbers. I still think our pitching is better though.
  23. Was this on their website or a magazine?
  24. This is what the rumor was per sportsline.com the griffy/reitsma for koch/konerko is the first part of the blockbuster. then the sox send thomas to the dodgers, the reds send casey to the sox, the dodgers send perez and a prospect to the sox, the sox inturn send that prospect from the dodgers as well as one of their prospects to the reds. also the dodgers send a middle infielder to the reds for mike matthews.
