  1. Bears needs to capitalize here. Atlanta's offense is no joke. Points. We need more points.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) My god.. Kerry Collins is bad. Yea unless the Colts D goes Ravens early 2000s, their season is already doomed. This season will end any debate that Tom Brady is on Peyton Manning's level. This sucks for the Colts now. But in the long-run, this could be huge for them, if they're as bad as many think they will be. I compare it to the '97 Spurs. If David Robinson doesn't miss 76 games that year, they don't get that Tim Duncan fella.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) Happy Birthday to both of you. Remember Felix, the refs are still out to get the bears. And the Bulls, Illini, and Blackhawks (that's assuming refs come into play in hockey). Cheers birthday fellas.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Zach Stewrt's start here is what I think is key to whethegr he might be in our rotation in 202. You ahev to be consistent and win . Can't go from a superb one hit shut out in one game to getting blown out in the next. Let us win this one and keep up the pressure. Man, I'm not one to point out grammar/spelling mistakes. I'm certainly not perfect in that department. But what the hell? lol. And you've had quite a few of these of late. Do you post from your phone? And what do you mean by "keep up the pressure?"
  5. Oh, and we most definitely have a race in the AL west. Don't let the Angels get in. Weaver/Haren/Santana >>> any top three from the AL (assuming the Rays don't pull off the miracle).
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) Red Sox fans should be very afraid...Rays now 4.5 back. Still extremely unlikely. But other than Lester, that rotation is in shambles. That would be some kinda story, though.
  7. Wow, yeah, totally misused the word. I know what I mean. The word eludes me right now. We remember 9/11 every year. Are we supposed to remember it on a more profound level because it's the ten-year anniversary? Do we mourn it less next year because the 11-year anniversary doesn't sound as sexy as the 10-year anniversary?
  8. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) To those of you not turning on your TVs tomorrow, might I ask why? Football. And that's the ONLY reason. And when I'm all footballed out; tv goin' off. I don't need to be bombarded with 9-11 overkill just because of the mythical 10-year anniversary. I don't want to hear about conspiracy #1373262423. No more "how has America changed since then?" It hasn't changed at all (well, other than tighter, and in some cases ridiculous, airport security protocol). I don't care what celebrities think. I don't care that bomb-sniffing dogs have been named after victims. It just goes on and on.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) 1) How can you complain about Ozzie's managing when we won the game? That doesn't make any sense. Why not be happy that we won? 2) I agree Just Win Baby! That is all that matters. Wins and losses. 3) Juan had another good game. Just admit it. He is a very good baseball player. lol. You beat me to it. I had planned on posting something similar.
  10. Ozzie, to me, is the worst World Series-winning manager of the last 20 years.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) Personal goal for today and tomorrow: Avoid as many references to 9/11 as is humanly possible. If not for the Bears game - I'd totally turn off all TVs, radios, and computers in my house all day tomorrow.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) Do not be so quick to dismiss Juan. I am betting he won't be back in 2012, but 45 RBIs for a lead off batter isn't bad He's already been dismissed. But he has hit well with RISP. I can give him that much.
  13. I think De Aza has damn near as many extra basehits as Pierre does in like 500 less at bats.
  14. LF and the leadoff spot as of right now should belong to De Aza. All this guy has done is produce.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) Rios seems to either ground out, pop up or K and awful lot Welcome to 2011?
  16. White Sox baseball: where pink slips don't happen under any circumstance.
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) This is a game which has historically captured raw data and has presented certain statistics to determine value throughout a players career. I believe in fact that they have peddled cards with a picture on the front and a select set of stats on the back. So what I don't understand the resistance to taking the same raw data and or statistics to derive other output from it. Nothing wrong with adding dimension to data that is already being collected. Baseball seems to jumped on board, so what's the issue. No! It's much easier to see a .280-ish average and run with it.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) Jacoby Ellsbury now leads all of baseball in fWAR. I was considering him for MVP before, but now I think he has a decent shot to win it. After all, he plays on a good team and Bautista plays on a mediocre one. He's having a year that mimics most of Rickey Henderson's prime years. I have no idea where the power has come from. I'd say it's between him, Bautista and Granderson.
  19. Big fat WHO CARES (not aimed at you, flavum. Just the entire Peavy saga). Did you hear this on the radio?
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) The Sox are as talented as anyone in the AL Central. For one reason or another, guys like Peralta had a career year while Dunn/Rios were awful. Also, credit goes out to Detroit for being aggressive at the deadline and locking up the division by adding Fister and others. Yup. Young and Fister (especially Fister) have been huge for them. Meanwhile our only realistic option was to slash payroll.
  21. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Your argument has become.. Lets use Ozzie as the scapegoat, because this team isn't as talented as others in our division. Am I wrong in stating that? No offense. But that's a joke. Nobody outside of Detroit thought coming in the Tigers had more talent than us. And the White Sox have perpetually underachieved with superior talent during Ozzie's tenure.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) IF there was no draft pick for him, I'd probably go ahead and pick up his option, because even if things went badly he'd still be tradeable again midseason. But with how he's performed with the Sox, I'd rather have the sandwich pick if it is an option. That's a risk I'm not willing to take. And what the hell would the market be for two months of Jason Frasor? You've already got $10 million committed to Thornton/Crain next year. You've got Santos/Reed from the right-side. Another $3.5 million dollar reliever would be foolish, IMO.
