Final Four
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Joakim Noah has set the record for blocks in a finals game in the first half. He's got the MOP locked up if they win tonight. He's probably the best all-around player in the country.

Article in theTribune....
QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) I would be more worried about a player who admited the other team is better. They all need to say that they are the best. Only the Sox are correct and we have the trophy to prove it. I have no problem with him saying they're better "this" year. However, most of the guys over there think they were better "last" year.

2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
Just finished watching the Braves/Dodgers game. The Braves' bullpen is as bad as advertised. They were up 8-1 and 11-5 and barely held on to win the game 11-10. People think are bullpen is suspect? We have the '01 Seattle 'pen compared to Atlanta.

Finally, some common sense
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) Oh the coach may indeed be a jerk. But that is no reason for a $3million payout. I agree. It just seems that this judge is saying verbal abuse is OK.

Few thoughts from the game
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) 2000 Don't you remember? Frank was the reason we lost that year. Everybody else stepped up. Maggs, Konerko, Lee -- all dominant.

Finally, some common sense
I agree that the suit was ridiculous. But since when has it been acceptable to call people names as long as you're "pushing them to excel?"

This is pretty cool
I can't even remember how I discovered Soxtalk.

Flags?

Funny Indians Prediction
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) This made me laugh. I'll be the first to say we did have some good breaks last year, but I'm a believe in you make your own breaks and the Sox did that, just like the Twins did the past few years. Are you trying to tell me the '05 Sox weren't the only team in modern sports history to catch a few breaks? Go figure.

Looks like Sabathia is headed for the DL. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=As1x...ov=ap&type=lgns This is why I have no problem with having 6 starters.- 2006 MLB Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 07:15 AM) Good Lord. I honestly don't know where to begin on that. LOL. I don't even know how to respond. I'm amazed that somebody can be that uninformed.- 2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
The Reds' pitching is as bad as ever.- Rowand to attend Ring Ceremony
QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) And gets an infield single to third in his second AB (it was tough play for Rolen, but he had it and made a horrible throw to first. Homefield advantage called it a hit though ) Too bad the Phillies are getting raped.- Films

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) Ya he is, I was actually pretty disappointed with him yesterday. I expect 3 homers tomorrow. 3? Mike Cameron hit 4 in a game once. If he can't top that, see ya.- Sports Illustrated KW article
KW has evolved as a GM considerably since '01.- Rosenthal Notes
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) If Anderson plays good defense it would be. That would be a .750 OPS from Anderson. Rowand had a .736 OPS last season. I don't consider that an upgrade. He would just be giving us what Rowand gave us. And I would be happy with that.- Rosenthal Notes
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:24 AM) Ah yes, the anonymous "out of town" scout sees BA one game and makes a proclamation. I agree with you though that BA is a good bet for alot of strikeouts, however, he's also a good bad to improve on Arow's terrible OPS. A 250/310/440 season is what I'm thinking for BA--and that will be a good upgrade from Arow of 2005 at the plate. .250/310/440 wouldn't be an upgrade.- JIM FOCKING THOME
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) It'll be interesting to see the mood around here when has a 3 K game. You mean to tell me that Thome is not gonna hit 2 home runs every game? That it's possible that he could have a bad game? Get him outta here.- Thornton last night.
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) According to statistics based on balls put in play, Politte was the luckiest pitcher in baseball last season. His fastball was down a couple of mph, and didn't seem to have a lot of zip. It's still early though, so hopefully his arm strength will build up. McCarthy looked great last night though, which was good to see. Also, Thornton's never going to have pinpoint control. If he can throw strikes, he'll be a useful reliever. Yippee, more "luck" for the White Sox.- Thornton last night.
Poeple just need to be patient with Thornton. He's a project. Give Coop some time to really work with the guy. You can see he's already having an impact. Combined with his last spring outing, I believe Thornton hasn't issued a walk in almost 4 innings. I'd be willing to bet he never went that long without walking somebody last year. - 2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
