Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Hasn't been great and he's given up 0 runs through 4. As long as he keeps doing that i dont care how he looks. I agree. But you have to figure KC will break through at some point if Jose doesn't settle down some. That last forkball was nasty.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
Jose looks like dog s*** tonight. If we were playing any other team besides the Royals, they would have 3 or 4 runs by now.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) PK is swinging the bat as good as any Sox player I've seen in a long time. We just need to keep getting guys on base in front of him. Everett slumping has resulted in fewer chances for PK to do a lot of damage. PK hasn't looked this good since the first half of 02.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Scott Elarton is awful, and he shut them down big time last night. He's not awful, he's inconsistent. He is 8-7 on the season. And there's no shame in getting shut down by Lee and Sabathia.

Sox vs. Royals 9-7-05
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Tigers with another pathetic effort tonight against the Indians. How can that much offensive talent suck so bad? The Tribe have some pretty good pitching.

Jose doesn't look all that great right now. Thankfully, these are the Royals.

Borchard wants a chance, or else
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Yep, but at a hitters paradise and when Brian Anderson hits over .300 in his 1st stop there, it's not going to be enough. I know. I wasn't saying it was. I was just surprised he hit for that high of average over that amount of time.

Borchard wants a chance, or else
Joe actually hit a very solid .287 in his last 109 games at Charlotte.

Eating Crow: Paul Konerko
Want to know how good Paulie has been? Numbers since the all-star break: BA .333, HR 15, RBI 33, OBP .404, OPS 1.032. This is the Konerko we remember from the first half of 02. Keep it up, Paul.

Jose has pretty much owned the Royals. I expect more of the same.

Should McCarthy move to the rotation?
I think it's a lose/lose situation. If Ozzie goes with Duque, and he doesn't pitch as well as we hope, Ozzie's a moron for not going with the kid. If Ozzie goes with B-mac, and B-mac, like a lot of 22 year old rookies would, chokes on the national stage, in the post-season, Ozzie's a moron for not going with the experienced vet.

Magglio Ordonez
I'm with Wite on this one. Maggs has to feel awfully stupid right about now. Of course, he'll never admit it.

Derrick Focking Lee
Lee has had one hell of a season. History says it's a fluke. But I can't hate on what he's done in 2005. I'm just glad this great season he's had still has the Flubs nowhere near the playoffs.

"where would he play?"
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Still, the fact that he's going to be out for the next 2 games should not make people happy that the Sox didn't trade for him. You can't be pining for him one second then you don't get him, he misses 2 games you you're glad you didn't trade for him. That makes no sense. Of course, missing two games isn't that big a deal. But when you have Griffey's injury history, it can be. Griffey's games played from 2001 through 2004.) 111, 70, 53, 83...That means he missed 331 games in a 4 year stretch. If that's not injury prone, I don't know what is. And if it turns out he is out for the season, THANK THE f***ING LORD WE DIDN'T TRADE FOR HIM!

Should McCarthy move to the rotation?
I'm not sure 2 starts, all be it two dominant starts against the 2 best offenses in the AL, is enough to bump El Duque to the pen and promote B-mac to starter. The Sox have gotten this far with the 5 guys they've had all year. No need to to make any big decisions right now. However, if B-mac continues to pitch like he has been, things could change.

vote for paul
Paul hasn't looked this good since the first half of 02. Keep it up, Paulie.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!&#
A little more drama then I would've hoped for after being up 5-0. But each win counts the same. Tonight gives us a 29-15 record in one run games on the season. That's definitely a plus going into the playoffs. 16

Bill Melton
What's wrong with Melton? Seems like a very knowledgable guy.

Bill Melton
I'd be down with that.

9.5 Games
QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) Playoffs my man. Birmingham and Kannapolis are in, Winston-Salem I don't know because they are tied. That's true. This might be a really dumb question. But do any of the post-season games come on tv?
-
No respect? Underrated?
PK is a tad underrated. I'll give him that. But I don't think he's worth 12 million or whatever I've been hearing.

Boston Watch
Homefield to me is very important. I don't care what our road record is, you would always want to play more games at home than on the road. Game 1 of the ALCS in Chicago sounds a lot better to me than game 1 of the ALCS in Boston/New York/ect.
