Holy crap that picture is scary.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 1, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) The Tigers have faired pretty well against the sox and twins since he opened his mouth. Green? 1-4 record against the White Sox isn't "fairing pretty well".

Garland Haters and Lovers prior to 05'
BobDylan replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Add me to the lovers list. I've always been a big Garland fan. I've somehow always liked him more than any pitcher we've had on the staff for awhile. -
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) How strong an arm do you need to hit a cut off man? Seems to me that the only time a strong arm would come into play would be at SS or 3B.

QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) soggy bread is gross Agreed. They can be really tough to eat.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) Doesn't think we'll run away with the division. New excuse: "They're 21st in fielding %." :headshake Thinks the Sox should skip Contreras or El Duque every once in awhile because of their age. That 4 error game probably shot that down.

They'll care when the White Sox are printing our World Series tickets.

I stumped it on baseball. What the hell?

QUOTE(Spiff @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Maybe people are afraid of success. If we keep winning they'll have nothing to b**** about. Amen.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) I was listening to the game on XM. They use the home team broadcast. the tigers broadcasters were commenting on the hot start of the Sox. They said the hot start won't last because Contreas and Garland won't be consistent, Hernandez won't make 25 starts and they have bad infield defense especially that shortstop. :banghead Yea, and Detroit's going to get hot any minute now.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Sorry chief but I'm addressing a great pattern over just he last week that has included Gammons, Rosenthal, Donovan, and Brantley just to name a few. People at soxtalk don't know how to disagree with someone. I disagree. We know how to take a shot in the mouth if the information is right. Most of these "experts" don't know s*** about getting their facts correct.

There is smoking in every venue I've been too. I love it.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) No s***. It shouldn't always take a 14-4 start.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) If b-mac is brought up i might shoot my foot. I'll shoot my other foot.

This may not be a popular reply, but I liked Jerry Manuel a lot. Yea, he f***ed the team on a consistant basis, but underneath all of that he was one hell of a man. I met him on several occasions and he even signed a baseball of mine with "God sees greatness in you." I respect the J-Man and hope he can find success elsewhere in the big leagues. Get him a power team with some good pitching and he's your man.

Awful Experience at Sox Park (Cellular Field)
BobDylan replied to southsideirish's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Why can't the White Sox do something about this problem and have people at the top of each aisle chain off the stairs until the inning is over or play has stopped? When play is stopped you can let the people back down. Other stadiums do it, so I know it can be done. What stadium does that? -
6. Minnesota Twins (8-6). The Twins have the vicious Johan Santana, they have the promising Joe Mauer, and they have the devastating Joe Nathan. These things are good. But without question, the Twins' greatest resource is Batgirl. Only Batgirl has the stones to call Ozzie's club the "B---- Sox." Only Batgirl has the focus required to go all game-face on her own kitties: "That I'm-so-cute-I'm-a-kitten thing is getting way old, you hear me? Way old." When the Twins win the AL West, there'd better be a seat at the glory table for Batgirl. It'd be interesting to see the Twins win the AL West, considering they've won the AL Central the past three years.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Plaschke likes our chances, Smith does not. Smith says Twins will win the division like the past 3 years, Smith gets the point from Statboy. Can't disagree with either. It's still the Twins division, we have to knock them out. But I think the big difference this year between others is that the Sox have evened out the teams bullpens (Twins maybe still a little better bullpen), but the White Sox also have 4-5 above average starters and the Twins just 2, maybe 3. Not to mention the White Sox improvement on offensive balance. I take the White Sox, but Smith wasn't wrong in what he said.

Being a student of that college, most of those people need a swift kick in the ass in terms of politcs. They have an extreme liberal outlook on things and act as if the United States breaches on every human right they have. It makes me sick sitting in class and having a discussion about the U.S. Goverment. Some of the kids just don't get a damn thing. Granted, I'm not saying Bush is a savior or anything remotely close, but to say "The Axis of Evil"? Bull s***.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Steve Phillips. The guy is the GM of ESPN radio...right? Why do I find it so damn funny that he keeps putting himself on as a "guest"? Everytime I hear him I just picture him calling into the show and saying he wants to be on the show, and Mike and Mike just roll their eyes and "play along" with him. What kind of "expert" is he, really? I remember Farmer ripped into Phillips before a White Sox game recently. It might have been on opening day. "You'd think he'd look at the roster before predicting the White Sox to finish in fourth place. Third place? Okay. Fourth? You wonder how much this guy can evaluate talent."

QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) I had to read the article to know who he was. I never watch "American Idol". I've obviously heard the name but never put it to a face. Likewise.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Saying stuff like that does nothing but harm... I don't think he cares. I'm glad he doesn't care. I like a manager that won't take s*** from anyone and will speak whatever he damn well cares to speak. I don't believe in talking by the book just so you look good...it's phony. Keep it up Oz. Speak your mind.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Funny, Crede is hitting the same or HIGHER than AJ Pierzynski, Jermaine Dye, Jose Uribe, and 0.003 points below AaRow. Let the Crede bashing have a couple days off, until he does something stupid like dive for a ball coming his way!! OMG what is he doing?!?! :headshake THose players have all established themselves in one way or another. Joe Crede has NOT. This thread is ridiculous, but the Crede bashing is merited. -
No Deng + No Curry = short playoff stint. Get well Eddy.
