MLB 2020-21 off season catch all
Dahl for 3 mill is nice. Good move by Rangers. As much as I would have liked Dahl on the White Sox or that price, I'm not sure that there was room. I don't even know if I would have rather had Dahl over Eaton... Dahl hasn't been good.

Old: Mega Hendriks Speculation Thread
Lynn + Eaton as our offseason would be a failure for me. F. They have work to do.

Extensions You’d Like to See
It's nice and all when you put it that way, but looking at the otherside from the player's prespective... if they could get a huge contract right now that foregoes any risk of injury or decline. White Sox could make a very compelling contract extension to Giolito that would set him up for life... even if he does forego the huge paycheck.

im saddened that we haven't signed liam yet

Sox sign Adam Eaton 1 year, $7m plus option
You are really comparing apples/oranges there. Abreu at 1b/dh vs. Eaton at corner outfield. Abreu's speed/defense hardly matters and his handedness didn't matter. Also, even with decline you'd expect a league competent 1b out of Abreu. Eaton could be detrimental to the team on a level worse than Mazaraa... and we had 10's of other OF options available to us at cheap. I just hope the plan is Eaton as a 4th OF... and we bring in a better OF.

I'm hoping we sign him up soon/tonight. Then turn our focus to an OF... Springer?

Would be nice to get Hendriks for sure. That is a quality upgrade. Would really like to add another quality OF and a quality SP with it too, since, ya know, we haven't really spent too much money. Give me a run at Bauer (I'm assuming fail) and then go get Kluber/Paxton or trade for Musgrove. For the OF consider Dahl/Pederson due to their capability to play the field, then look at Schwarber/Ozuna/Blackmon (trade)/ many others. Adam Eaton is a 4th OF, not a starting OF.

Sox sign Adam Eaton 1 year, $7m plus option
I keep coming back to this Eaton move and wondering why the hell did we do sign Adam Eaton. He's getting older, more injured, worse of a player, not as capable of a defender. I get the idea that prime adam eaton is precisely perfect for this team make up, but this is garbage eaton. Soooooo many other options out there and we jump the gun with Eaton. Just very odd.

Michael Brantley Thread
Not sure why they want Brantley when they can get Pederson/Dahl/Kyle Schwarber to stand in the OF a few times? Might be cheaper too.

I agree. A C rating fits that offseason IMO. If they can add in another OF like Joc/Brantley/Schwarber/Dahl, and maybe upgrade Q to Paxton/Kluber or better, and maybe add one RP like Bradley the grade could turn into a B to A- which would be pretty impressive due to TLR's negative factor, haha.

Sox sign Adam Eaton 1 year, $7m plus option
Man, I really don't know... ... not super thrilled with either move (lynn or Eaton). The White Sox filled holes, and I'll admit Eaton fills them nicely if he's superb, but you have to squint really hard to see him being that piece. Further, instead of looking years a head we are only making moves for the immediate next year while giving up a bit of the future. Not super thrilled, but i'll hold my more aggressive emotions to see what else plays out this offseason.

Sox acquire Lance Lynn for Dane Dunning and Avery Weems
This is probably a fair deal considering my wide range of emotions i feel from it i hate giving up dunning?, but the white sox had to get a top starter... it was necessary. now i just ask that they take a stab at bauer

Kyle Schwarber signs with Nationals: 1 year 10mil
Would have np signing Joc, Schwarber, Dahl all to 1-3 year deals depending on AAV. Some good left handed bats, you can never have too many bats in the long gruelling season! These guys cost so little, only issue would be how many roster spots do we have

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Trevor Bauer is the gem of the offseason. The OF has plenty of MEH options. Nothing perfect, but some fine options at decent costs. SP is bleek after Bauer. Bauer you can get for just $$$, it would be such a big reward. plz plz plz sign him (I don't think the W'Sox have a chance, but I'm hoping it works out).

Michael Brantley Thread
Just say NO to M. Brantley. Old, no defense, bit unreliable with injuries. Good hitter, but I'd rather be a year early than a year late with him.

Most GM's/teams don't even know their budget yet... ... things are going to be really slow

Joc Pederson: How long will he be a future White Sox?
Would love joc.. i think Springer would be fun, but he would totally derail this teams options to exoand with his contract joc allows us to platoon him and engel in rf and get a lot of results without breaking the bank plus... jocs power at guaranteed rate?? Awesome would love if they got bauer tho, sp is not the area where you skimp around...

Love your thread but that yankees trade makes not a lot of sense for us i like the oakkand trade a bit

Offseason Targets
Agreed. That is effecting many people's lives as workers in the league. Honestly, pathetic.

Offseason Targets
Pretty assinine to want to trade Cease/Dunning for Lynn. Lynn is old and a 1 year deal. There's no gurantee he's anywhere aas good aas he's been the past couple of years for the next year.
-
Offseason Targets
You can't have that attitude. The Rangers were asking the moon for their guys the past two trade deadlines. It was 100% the right move for the Sox to stand pat. The rangers screwed themselves by asking for too much.

Offseason Targets
Kopech coming off surgery and has never won a Cy Young. Big difference.
