  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) He doesn't look comfortable on balls to his left. His dives in Seattle were very strange, almost like he was just flopping down. That wasn't his good way anyway, I thought. Most of the great plays he makes, that I remember, are to his right. And his incredible arm strength.
  2. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) HUGE understatement. He was godawful. I think he's even said as much in some bits. Which is why I'll wait and see on Fallon. I can't imagine how it could work, but the same was true of Conan, and damned if he didn't come through in a big way. I see this as a Chevy Chase Show scenario. Fallon better have some AWESOME writers or else he is absolutely doomed. Conan could write his own show with one pen tied behind his back and an eye dangling out his socket and be funny. Conan has always been funny, he was just awkward because he wasn't in front of the camera. Fallon, I don't know how much he has written, but he sure is good at mugging for the camera.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 14, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) I might be listening on XM. Wave at me during the game. I'll see you on the radio This is how I picture you getting satellite radio in Montana:
  4. Here's the rub...Conan is funny on his own, as seen by his stints on SNL (The Penis Sketch) and teh Simpsons, which most people would say is the Golden Age of the Simpsons. Fallon...to put it simply...is the village idiot.

  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 13, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) I tend to disagree. I think he is in the O'Brien mold. Goofy, but funny. Maybe, if he could just stop laughing at his own jokes.
  9. I'm going to try this one more time...if it doesn't work...I'm retiring it: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU WHITE SOX!!!
  10. KW: Carlos Lee to the Brewers for Pods and Vizcaino Ozzie: Agree with the El Duque decision Cooper: 4 straight complete games in the playoffs (yes that reflects on him)
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 13, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) So how bad is it I didn't realize Tex was joking until about halfway through the first paragraph in spite of the green at the top? I think you need to step away from the computer for juuuuuuust a sec. Also, I didn't read the Moronotti article...didn't have to. Just saw the headline and it made me laugh...Pot, meet kettle. And to add one more...ss2K5's post count. *snore*
  12. Anything Mariotti related, although today's was pretty funny from a man that doesn't allow you to respond via e-mail. But yes, Mariotti.

  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 11, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) Thanks for the details. Always here to help!
  16. way to fight that one off, CQ. It's really too bad we can't have 9 CQ's batting for the Sox.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 11, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) Looks like Gavin didn't have too great of an outing today. Can someone fill me in? Gavin didn't have too great of an outing today.
  18. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 11, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) I think the nurishment in the rice would be the same, no matter whose name was on the outside of the box. So who bought the Big Salad?
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) OOOOh I almost forgot. My most unfortunate haircut is when I shaved my pubes bare.It looked ridiculous and it was the itchy and scratchy show that seemed to never end. So to those that have never done that please don't try it,it doesn't make it look any bigger I promise you. Delete Thread!
  20. I'll tell you one thing...Pat Foley isn't living in a van, down by the river.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:16 PM) I wish a reporter would do an indepth piece on days off for players. Let's say a DH takes a day off. OK, does he still hit BP the full time? Still do all the other stuff? Get to park early, et. all? That means all he does not do is take official hacks in his four plate appearances. Is a day off beneficial to a DH? Or a first baseman?? I mean they still are doing very little physical activity. I think days off are overrated. Now a week off for Swisher might get his head out of his butt. Or play Anderson a full series and rest him a full series to see if BA can actually hit better than Mr. sub .200. A WEEK?!?! I don't think so. Swisher is guilty of only one thing...trying to do too much. I believe he wants so bad to pick up this team that he's pressing. They all need to relax, which a day off (or more blow-up dolls) hopefully would do.
  22. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:20 AM) No matter what, both Cedric and the Lake Travis PD are going to look bad. Nobody is going to completely determine who was in the wrong here, it is all heresay, a group of people partying vs the police(who might or might not be crooked). I think the DUI is going to be dropped due to the public scrutiny now, but there will still be people who think Cedric was drunk because he refused a breathalyzer, and there will still be people who think the police overreacted and shouldnt have peppersprayed Cedric. It is lose-lose for both parties Unless some sort of video surfaces of the police being complete douchebags or of Cedric being belligerent and drunk. too bad the police boat doesnt have a dash cam In Austin, there are lawyers that advertise as the DUI Guys or something like that. Basically, they say, no matter what, refuse a breathalyzer and either give the police the lawyer's card (if you have it, which if you do, that probably doesn't look good) or just call their number as soon as you get to jail. It is ingrained in every drinkers head. Especially college students. These schysters even have the gall to use those mobile billboards on the back of trucks motor around 6th Street and the Warehouse District. Again, not saying it's right, but hammered into people's heads.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 7, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) I'm starting to think about drilling a well in the back yard of our 3-flat in Chicago, just for the chance. I think it might be against the condo association by-laws though. Unless you hit paydirt! Then at the next meeting you can yell, "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!"
