Tony Pena pitches floating fastballs
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Why do we keep going along with this myth that Coop fixes guys that are flawed? How many guys have gone through our pitching staff that he couldn't turn around? MacDougal Aardsma Riske Koch Vazquez Linebrink Vizcaino Rausch Pena There's probably more I can't think of right now. Because the ones he did have turned into some of the better pitchers in baseball. It's your successes that are going to make you.

Tony Pena pitches floating fastballs
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) They're watching the make-believe version of Tony Pena because it helps them when they complain about the Pena-Allen trade over and over, and over, and over... Pena has been awful for us. What are you talking about?

FIRE WALKER
The best defense of Walker is that our players won't get any better if he leaves. So basically, we're all in agreement that a move would not hurt.

What to do with Peavy?
It's not an arm/shoulder injury so I don't buy that we need to protect him. If he's healthy, he's healthy and needs to go out there.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 02:00 AM) In 05 it took Ozzie way too long to remove Carl from the 3 hole. I wonder how long it will take him to remove Dye from the 3 hole this year. Or bring him to the bench permanently. We have our new 60 million dollar man sitting out 2 of 3 games now.- GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) Is the game thread as vile while Buerhle has been getting lit up lately? You're comparing that to Buehrle? At least Buehrle is able to let the other team hit him.- GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT
Did Ozzie bring out his DFA papers to the mound?- GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) despite my previous post, i happen to think the Sox play better on the road and this "make or break" road trip will finally bring out the best in them. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) If I see a "are you in or out?" poll I will throw my computer. Oh come on, those are so much fun though. If we lose tonight it has to be made.- Weirdest Baseball Moments
QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 10:49 PM) I wish that I could remember who we were playing, but I remember Pablo Ozuna at the plate. The pitcher threw the ball, it bounced "in front" of home plate and into the catcher's mitt, and Pablo swung at it "after" it was already in the mitt. Hawk was laughing his head off wondering...."What the heck was that?" I think he said that was the first time he ever saw someone swing at a pitch when it was already in a catcher's mitt. The bounce in front of the plate made it even more hilarious! Anyone else remember seeing that? And have a better memory of who that was against? I remember that. So awesome.- U of I
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) Not having choices of where to eat would drive me nuts. My son is at Texas State and they have seven or eight campus dining halls plus all the food exchanges at Blimpies, Zatarans etc. It takes some adjusting to the food but she should be fine. At Illinois, most everyone ends up leaving for an apartment after freshmen year, which is what I did. Except I am of no use in the kitchen which has made quickly realize I was lucky at hall to have a dining hall in my dorm, ha.- U of I
Yeah I had a corner too which really worked out well. Food is not very good, but that's about the only complaint with Bromley. Everything else is far superior compared to living in one of the public dorms.- U of I
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) She's in Bromley. She joined like five organizations over the weekend. So far she's enjoying it. I lived there last year. Awesome place.- Who is our OLDEST poster?? POST YOUR AGE!

19- White Sox Should Make a Run at Billy Wagner
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) So if Wags just went on waivers there is no way he makes it out of the NL No. He'll almost certainly clear. We won't put in a claim, either. - White Sox Weekend: Officially Un-Rootable
