  1. QUOTE (Beckam4thehall @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 07:13 AM) Ok, This kid is amazing. 17 doubles at the end of this recent Yankee four home game series. I love him in the second hole and I think he'll be getting into the Hall of Fame. And I know people are saying its his first year he won't be good in the future. Well, If he can have this order that we're in with Nix and Getz at the bottom of the order than Pods. We can win a lot of games. And hell I say who gives a f*ck about Ramirez. I mean Getz can hit a double. Nix can move him over or in. Scotty can Move him over with a bunt or so. And Beckham can bring him over as well. And those three old guys in the middle of are line up can get a couple runs there. We can be a good team if we can do it. If he retired today, I think he would be about 50/50. I'd give it another week before considering him "lock" status, IMO.
  2. Detroit is tied 5-5 against Baltimore in the 9th. This could be huge considering they're at home and Verlander started the game (8IP, 5ER).
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) I hated seeing Poreda and Russell traded, but the only thing that concerned me about the trade was what if the White Sox fall out of contention in 2010 or 2011? Do they deal Peavy? On the other hand, if he rehabs with the Barons, my wife knows the wife of his hunting buddy. I may be able to have a meet and greet with him. If we were to deal Peavy for whatever reason, we could probably very easily get a better package than what we gave up.
  4. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) I think we all pictured him getting more fastballs hitting in front of the 3-4-5. Despite that, his average is lower than last year .... He's hitting .292 in the 2 hole this year.
  5. Alexei is a beast in the 2 spot...but it's hard to argue against Becks right now. In an ideal world, I'd make Beckham as 3 hole hitter sooner than later. It's obviously going to happen eventually, and it certainly seems like he could handle that now.
  6. QUOTE (Stocking @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 01:32 AM) why even put him in a situation to run? You guys are thinking with your cub hate love. I'm thinking he hasn't seen major league months in months and going against the Cubs is a lot better than going into Fenway, Yankee Stadium, or the Metrodome. Those are your other options if the timetable is to be believed.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) No, nobody can have Mark Priors perfect mechanics Wonder if it's the end of the line.
  8. QUOTE (Stocking @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 01:18 AM) i give zero chance Peavy pitches against the Cubs. They don't, nor should they, want him on the basepaths with his ankle. I will be extremely disappointed if he is given the ball. Err, this believing its an away game right? Meh, his ankle is going to take more of a beating pitching than it will running.
  9. We play the Twins on the 31st fwiw.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 11:43 PM) And I dont get why everyone is freaking out that Peavy needs to pitch against the Cubs(not aimed at you RME JCO, I heard a bunch of callers the last few days calling in the score saying that Peavy MUST pitch this game). Its 1 game, not a series, and its interleague. It's the perfect time given what we know about his timetable. Plus he'd be seeing no DH against a non-divisional opponent. The other options are @NYY, @Minny, @Boston, or Boston at home. For a first start back? I'll take my chances with the Cubs. Obviously though it really just depends on how he heals.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Can we take the Pods bunt out of the playbook? Please? Let's taking bunting out period.
  12. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 07:28 PM) hitters dont get a chance to review each specific guy thoroughly. ...they should.
  13. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 07:25 PM) The problem with Buehrle's increased attention recently is that all these ML players were watching him work the last two starts. Today the book is definitely out on him dam Tivo MB has been a full time starter in 2001. There was already a book on him.
  14. Sounds like they see Bacon long-term at 3b?
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 05:37 AM) They'll need someone to be their catcher once Posada is done. They need someone now if this series is any indication. He's doing just awful out in the field.
