  1. Attempting a comeback with the Twins, watch some Twins pitcher go down and this guy somehow steps in and wins 20 games. Do I think that's going to happen, certainly not, but this is the Twins we're talking about.
  2. Tennessee showed up today, so far anyways. Looking to run the clock out.
  3. Everyone that's still doing this, congratulations, it's been about I year now if I remember correctly. About a week ago I started doing 20 minute runs every day to go along with my 30 minute bike ride every day. I need to lose 3 pounds still to get to my weight goal, but now my more important goal is to get to the stomach line goal. Right now I've 2 inches off still, but hopefully I'll make it.
  4. I'm ok with it, if he ends up starting most of the games in Center Field we probably are in trouble, so hopefully we find some CF player. I'm ok with him at bat as long as he doesn't try to hit a homer every time he's up. It seemed like that's all he tried to do after his clutch homers late in the season.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) Sportscenter reporting it like it's a fact. Yeah I heard that too. Pissed me off.
  6. It's a sad day, I'll miss watching him pitch on TV. I wish I would've been able to see him.
  7. Corey Hart would be awesome. Rickie Weeks and Bill Hall have fallen big time in value, but I'd take one of them with Corey Hart.
  8. I don't care about shoes, aslong as they're not muddy or something.
  9. yeah he's been to the World Series twice, but hasn't won a game there, haha.
  10. Sweet, can't wait to see what he does with us in the future.
  11. Baseball Reference's Stat of the Day featurs Nick Swisher in 2008. He has the 6th highest OPS in the last 20 years while batting under .200. Rob Deer is 1 and 2 on the list. The 2004 version of Jose Valentin ranks 8th. http://www.baseball-reference.com/sotd/
  12. I'd pass on him. We have AJ, plus Varitek is coming off a terrible offensive year. Do I think he'll be as bad as he was last year? No. But I think he's past his prime.
  13. 200 mil for Teixeira? No way he's going to be worth that for the next 10 years. With the Pujols/Gehrig comparity, I don't like to compare players from vastly different eras like they played. It's hard to say what each player would do in my opinion.
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Jeff Passan's Ultimate Free Agent Tracker Yahoo Sports baseball analyst lists 183 free agents, ranks them, and makes comments about each. Some of the comments are pretty funny... especially on the lower ranked guys. Nice that it lets you view them by position too. There are a lot of funny comments. My favorite might be Carl Pavono............hehe
  15. I'm ok with this deal. I liked Swisher as a person, but didn't like how he played this year.
