  1. I knew it didn't look right.
  2. Did you guys see the Ashley Tisdale pic? Those are some huge nips
  3. Something about that tugjob did not seem right
  4. Whoever produced that Britney song has some talent
  5. Gallagher was definitely the most impressive from this draft, but other position prospects which caught my eye were Mahin and Johnson. Mahin finished up the year with an ISOP around .240 so he was mashing. I think in college he played RF but most of his starts for GF were at 1B. Logan Johnson started most his games at 3B and drew a ton of walks which he has been doing throughout college and had an OBP > .400. But like you said these guys are at least 22 years old.

  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) Besides that, one of these outings was in the rain and the other against Detroit was, if watched carefully, one with good results but he gave up some deep shots that are bombs anywhere but Detroit. He's not to be counted on for anything other than fifth starter and that's probably being nice. Shouldn't there be something said for having to pitch in the rain? Getting rotation on wet leather is difficult. After the rain picked up, Floyd and Carmona starting throwing two-seamers almost exclusively. Anyway, I don't think anyone here would count on Floyd to be more than a fifth starter. But if he could give us more quality starts than not at league minimum from that spot, it would be nice. I think people would be surprised if they looked at the quality start percentage of both our staff and other pitchers around the AL.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) Gavin Floyd is not a quality starter Since Coop changed his windup Gavin has 4 quality starts out of 5
  9. Lillibridge may have been a B-level prospect prior to the start of this season, but I'm not really convinced he's anything more than a C at this point. This year his batting average was down, K rate up, and BB rate WAY down (cut more than half). He stole bases at a nice clip during his Richmond stint, but that's about it. It's not like he's being pushed or young for the leagues either, he turns 24 next month. I have never seen him play so I can't say much about his D, but his fielding stats aren't spectacular at SS, he played CF in college and I heard the Braves may try him there pending a Andruw departure. If he were the main piece in a Garland trade, I would be disappointed.
  10. A funny piece I found on the Rickey Henderson Wikipedia page There's a bunch of other good stuff on there.
  11. I don't know what to make of Kotchman. He was once a very heralded prospect. His batting eye and plate discipline are very good, as he's drawn more walks than strikeouts. The walk rate isn't all that high though, so he could stand to be a bit more patient and boost that OBP. The main question is, where is the power? If it develops, he could turn into a pretty dangerous hitter. But as of now he's definitely lacking, his home/away splits are pretty dramatic. He's basically a singles hitter on the road.
  12. AJ has never been the MVP of anything for the White Sox and he's just not good this year
  13. Bangin' body. I think the real reason she was kicked off is that the guys sitting around her had trouble getting their tray tables down.
  14. A meaningless win doesn't help me forget that my favorite team is still s***
  15. The end of 'Nesun Dorma' gets me everytime
  16. Think we'll see 'the opening act' tonight?
  17. Zumaya's only chance at avoiding injury is pitching out of the pen, and even then I think he'll have major arm surgury sooner or later.
  18. He's got Guillen twice on two diggers
  19. He added a double and single, and tacked on another RBI. Great night Jimmy
  20. Gallagher homered, he's one of the bright spots from the top half of our draft class
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) What is your evidence to this as I am led to believe the Reds and/or Pirates have the worst systems in the MLB? How many other organizations fo you regularly scout? The Sox are near the bottom due to serious lack of position prospects after Fields' graduation and Sweeney's lack of improvement. The Reds surely are not the worst system. They have four top 25 prospects including Baseball America's 2007 minor league player of the year.
  22. Whitesox.com has Gavin starting on Wednesday against the gambler.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) I'll never understand why so many NL teams challenge the #8 hitters with runners on base and two outs. Zambrano just did this to LaRoche and it cost him...and as I type Loaiza hits a 2 rbi single
