QUOTE(Wanne @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) ummmmm....okay Frank...if you say so. Maybe not ten years ago....but anymore...you're just an injury waiting to happen. If there's one thing we've learned about Frnak it's that he doesn't think before he speaks.

autistic kid scores 20 points
LosMediasBlancas replied to thedoctor's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) My question is how the hell didn't this kid get into a game before this. I haven't seen the video, but even if he was just left wide open, to hit 6 three's in 4 mins and score 20 points clearly shows the kid can play. Great story for a kid with autism like that. Because a lot of coaches in HS are dicks who have no business coaching kids. A kid on my HS basketball team, had not played one single second in a game in the 4 years he was on the team. When the final minute of the last game of his senior year came around, the kid said "screw this" and put himself in the game. Our coach called a time out and yanked him off the court. -

"The Man Whose Arms Exploded"

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Eh, I kind of wish no one saw this. The American general public is getting brainwashed on the steroid topic left and right. I hope people take what is stated in this piece with a grain of salt, unless of course you like storing away false information and passing it on to others so that more and more people continue to believe these lies. Trust me, I know the deal. There is a huge difference between using and abusing. -

Yep, it's been on before, but I keep missing it. I thought others might want to check it out as well. -
I saw them on the news yesterday. Cute as hell too.

How about "Le Freak", it's that "AWWW, freak out" song. or "I will Survive" the gay anthem by Gloria Gaynor.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) yep, cant say s***, but can blow people to pieces with machine guns. i completely understand. It's all about not saying things. You can think it, hint at it and even show it, just don't say it. :headshake It's not just an FCC problem either.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) Personally, I'd go Buehrle-Garcia-Contreras-Garland-Vazquez, which isn't a choice on your poll. I think the first two are your veterans and have been more consistent in the past, Contreras goes before Garland because he is more dominating when he's going well, and Vazquez last in large part because he's the new guy. You could easily move things around though. You gotta love this rotation, considering that even your number 5 can be an ace type pitcher for long stretches. Yep. I don't care how good '05 was for Garland and Contreras (well half of 05'), they're not better overall pitchers than steady Freddy. I wouldn't be surprised to see Contreras slip to the 5th slot late in the season.....if he's still around.

Thank you, I am blind now.

SPOILER: I guess this guy was injecting directly into his arms, so at some pint they became infected. He decides to perform some surgery on himself and drains pus and blood from his arm. Have a nice big dinner before you tune in. -

Baseball Prospectus: "Prior has shoulder problems"
LosMediasBlancas replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:04 AM) FWIW, there was a very optimistic article in the Sun-Times this morning, suggesting that Wood is ahead of schedule and Wade Miller is also progressing nicely. Wood was supposedly popping the heater in there pretty good, not holding back. Like I said, take that for what it's worth, but they seem to really believe that Wood will be in the rotation sooner than later. His history makes me wonder how long he'll stay there, though... Read that too, smoke screen, spin move. -
Baseball Prospectus: "Prior has shoulder problems"
LosMediasBlancas replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
I can't remember the last time I saw either Wood or Prior smiling or kidding around with the media. I understand they've had a rough two years, with the injuries, the Cubs doing so poorly and the Sox winning the WS, but when you start the season with a s***ty, defeated attitude, you're f***ed. The other day Wood was getting into his car and with toal sarcasm said: "Hey guys, always a pleasure" to the media. It was the 1st day of ST, what's he pissed about already?? Prior is another ray of sunshine, always mumbling and dragging around like his dog died. Maybe they really are still injured, or just hate the Chicago media and maybe they're great teammates behind cloosed doors....I can't tell. -
Darren Daulton is doing too much acid
LosMediasBlancas replied to WhiteSoxfan1986's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
At 44, Daulton is not nearly the same guy he was at 24 or even 34. "I didn't have my first out-of-body experience until I was 35," he says. Curiously, the epiphany occurred at one of baseball's holiest shrines -- Wrigley Field. "I hit a line-drive just inside the third base line to help win a game," he recalls. "The strange thing was I didn't hit that ball. I never hit balls inside the third base line!" He left the ballpark in tears. "I told my wife, 'It wasn't me who swung that bat! It wasn't me!'" he says. "She thought I was Looney Tunes." She's not alone. Just one more event to add to all the great history at Wrigley. -
I think I've posted this before, but 54 W. Hubbard in downtown Chicago is said to be haunted. It is now an office building, but used to be a courthouse. Many people were hanged there. The tenants say they see a woman dressed in early 1900's attire roaming the halls and around corners. The White Sox connection is that the Black Sox trial was held in that building.

Nah, I read the story and thought about posting it, but I figured we all want to forget about him.
