  1. When EE hit that I said YES! to no one in particular .
  2. What's this checking in with Laila and Ozzie stuff ? Every time they do it so far which is 3 times, I don't hear anything .
  3. That's my adopted prospect right there !!
  4. Thank you . I would have liked to see him running on some kind of hit and run and see if you could create a hole in the infield. Even a straight steal would've been good to give McCann a chance to knock in 2 when Twins probably don't risk throwing to 2nd. I don't think 1 run stands up all game.
  5. I don't get this tweet. First off he say not sourced so that means he didn't get the info from the Sox analytics department but goes on to say the Sox analytics department LIKELY does not believe Renteria's lineups are optimal. Why doesn't he just say he thinks the lineup isn't optimal instead of phrasing it the way he did and throwing in (not sourced ) and (my opinion) ?
  6. All the money went to White Sox charities. It's cool and probably a tax write off too. The end. No controversy here.
  7. He never left the game yesterday after he fell.
  8. 162 is definitely a relic and shortening it would definitely help ease the strain on players after that grind which wrecks a lot of pitchers for the following season. Lowering it to 100 though seems unlikely since then players salaries probably go down drastically. If they keep escalating it's always going to be the richest teams competing for the championship . Expanded playoffs in baseball keeps the mid and low budget teams theoretically in the hunt longer. Also a shorter season means baseball in November should become a thing of the past . We can still have the Fall classic if the season ends in late summer. All these high salaries along with a larger than ever divide between the classes just will keep pricing out people who can no longer afford to go to a game. Maybe baseball can survive without fans but I think that they would rather thrive than just survive. The problem is the players and the owners only want to get richer and that will ultimately be a huge problem . But I am always surprised that anyone really cares about how the playoffs are formulated for this year. All I give a shit about is that the Sox have a good team again and more teams in means more chances at a title. For a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 12 years and hasn't been to the playoffs 2 years in a row in it's long history, I'll take it, no matter how baseball cuts the pie.
  9. Luis Gonzalez has actually looked good so far. Very small sample size of course but 20 PA's ,550 OBP ,more walks (4) than K's (2) but is was an NRI so he wont make OD roster.
  10. I'm pretty sure Greg means when Ozzie gets revved up and with his accent it's hard to understand him all the time.
  11. Yes they did they announced it an inning earlier during the game.
  12. Too bad the Sox won''t get a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th.
  13. That MLB contest with the 100K prize only pays out if you pick all 15 games right on opening days. Plus you are only allowed 1 entry. Should make it a !M for those kinds of rules.
  14. Collins should make the opening day roster and has a good chance to stick all year.
  15. He;s been talking all the time about wanting to start as if him being in relieve was distasteful to him.
  16. Looks like one of those games where Yermin or Collins will walk it off.
  17. Might not even miss Kopech if Cease and Lopez both are better than last year and if one of them is significantly better. Then there are wild cards coming off injury like Rodon, Lambert and Dunning. If the Sox end up jettisoning Herrera and Fulmer before the season starts or slightly after if they are ineffective and replace them with guys like Lambert, Dunning, Heuer. Would be a lot youth in the pen but it's decent depth in my eyes.
  18. Well as long as we are claiming to be right . This my post with the names now plugged into it to prove I was right. Our best hope is they get 2 headliners 1 from the starting pitching group (Keuchel) and 1 from positional players (Grandal) then mix and match to maximize power, (Grandal, Encarncion, Mazara) OBP (Grandal,Encarnacion) left handedness (Grandal, Mazara, Gio Gonzalez, Keuchel)) , positional versatiilty, defense (Grandal) and the bullpen(Cishek). If they keep these things in mind there are plenty of names that could be had on reasonable deals. Hahn basically followed my plan to a tee. And with Robert looking great and Cease looking pretty good and Lambert Dunning and Rodon all looking like they could contribute significantly it's looking even better than I had hoped for this year.Sucks to lose Mazara for however long it is though and Kopech.
  19. I said social distancing in the dugout not the training room. I have not seen that. Players are very close together unmasked. It's easy to see watching any highlights of the games. I only asked if you can confirm what you said about wearing masks in the training room by actually being in a training room lately. If the answer to that is no i will still trust that they are wearing masks in there because you say so even if you haven't seen it with your own eyes. I'm sure you might still have connections in that regard.
  20. If by "good to see me coming around" means I completely disagree that we can all agree bmags was right then yes I am coming around. But hey if bmags feels vindicated by the Dodgers signing him to a long term deal then I do agree he has every right to feel the way he feels after we were meanies to him.
  21. Yes we can all agree the Sox could have traded for him , without crippling their young pitching staff , still had a chance to compete this year ,signed him to a $350M contract for 10 years and approach the Dodgers and other teams at the height of the salary structure and kept on making the playoffs every year . Lead pipe cinch.
