  1. Now can the Sox pitching hold that juggernaut of a Tiger offense from scoring in every inning.
  2. He ripped the fat 3-1 pitch just one of those things . Yonder strayed too far. His run meant nothing.
  3. Tigers looking like they could get 15 runs tonight with a lineup that didn't have 1 guy with 10 RBI's yet.
  4. Also acquired Banuelos, McCann, Herrera, Josh Osich and Colome along with Preston Tucker and Brandon Guyer. Rebuilding teams do this a lot ya know. Most suck and continue to search.
  5. It's always interesting how the sons of former MLB players do. Among the current guys in majors or minors doing well are Bellinger ,Tatis, Biggio, Bo ( not Dante Jr.) Bichette, Guerrero Jr., McCullers, Jr. Dee Gordon, Mondesi, Joc Pederson, and Travis Shaw. Often forgotten is Robinson Cano's dad had a very brief MLB career. Of course many more sons never carve out much of a career but when they do some surpass or equal their fathers careers like Griffey, Jr. , Bonds, the Alomar Brothers, Buddy Bell ,Prince Fielder, and Bob Boone and then his sons Bret and Aaron. The Sox haven't had much luck with father/son combos .Vance Law, Jerry Hairston, Jr.,Nick Swisher , Jaime Navarro , the Alomars , Griffey, Jr. LaRoche at the ends of their careers. Steve Trout might be the biggest success the Sox had with a son of a former MLB player. Of course there are guys like Tatis Jr. and the late developing once he left the Sox organization Carlos Martinez.
  6. I know I looked which is why I said he had to be at .270 at some point in A ball
  7. Yep. Kool-Aid is just hope in a hand basket. Positive or negative comps are just different takes. Of course the negative guy is the more knowledgeable and the hopeful positive comps aren't being realistic . I remember at one point I said I just hope Moncada is as good as Whit Merrifield . I'm still hopeful he can be even better but we are far from a conclusion. Merrifield has made a nice name for himself . Nothing spectacular but a solid all around good player for 3+ seasons. He didn't even get a sniff of the big leagues until he was 27.
  8. Yes it is. I'm sure when Rod Carew was in the minors not many thought he's end up in the HOF . I'm pretty sure at one point in A ball Carew was around .270. Everybody makes comps around here. If I have to see Darwin Barney comps for Madrigal then I can handle a Carew comp from a guy who wishes it comes true more than he thinks it will come true. We get plenty of honest negative opinions.
  9. Really have to give Engel credit for making it as far as he did.
  10. Abreu 3/5 HR, 5 RBI McCann 3/5, HR , 4 RBI Sanchez 3/5 Moncada 1/4, 2 BB Banuelos 4 innings, no runs, 1BB , 4 K Final score : White Sox 12 Orioles 2
  11. Have to feel for the guy which makes Zach striking out the side in his 1st rehab appearance all the more impressive if he knew what happened to his brother befoer he pitched.
  12. I'm glad you brought this up. I was looking for it coming into the thread and if it wasn't here. I would've posted it.
  13. How cool would it be to keep seeing Burdi and Hansen looking good,
  14. He reached my goal this appearance to get the ERA under 5.50. I guess Renteria took him out with a small amount of success rather than have him finish the game as I preferred.
  15. Frankly I despise the word headcase applied to any pitcher. It's not an easy game. and those who struggle are just searching for what works best for them against the best hitters in the world.
  16. If Carson can get that cutter under control and hit the outside edge against righties he might end up useful. He's getting swings and misses on it but they aren't in the strike zone.
