  1. lead off double for Moncada
  2. Guess we are assuming Dave actually knows or made some pretty safe guesses. Anyone think there will be a few more to Birmingham and Charlotte ? Major props to Caulfield for being spot on about when the promotions would happen despite others being soooo sure he was wrong. Makes tons of sense. He's earned some time back in the bigs. It is very cool. Wondering how much longer Dunning will be in AA. He's had 10 starts there and just cruising along. Very good numbers all around and hasn't allowed a HR .Would love to see Dunning with Kopech . Maybe some of Dane Dunning command can rub off on MK. On to Kannapolis !
  3. While I agree that the biggest obstacle to a successful rebuild could be upper management I disagree wholeheartedly on rushing prospects is a main reason for failure. I think when there is failure people want reasons and the easiest one to pick is that they were rushed. You speak as if Rodon's , Fulmer's and Moncada's problems are the product of being rushed. How can you be so sure that is the reason ? There could be multiple reasons when you talk about how human beings perform at the highest level of competition in their profession. The main one being they just can't cut it talent wise and every effort to get them to max their talent just didn't work . People just develop differently and applying one reason to those who you deem as being rushed is rather asinine. Plenty of young men are bought up very young with great track record in the minors . Some succeed some fail. Some with not so great track records in the minors also come up. Some succeed some fail. Some take years to have the light switch go on. They all process information differently or take time to find the right combination of adjustments or advice to max their talent. Some never find the right combination. Being rushed is just a lame way of trying apply a logical answer in your head to explain why things didnt work when in reality no one can understand why things didn't work. The human mind and body in relationship to peak performance is much too complicated for anyone to understand why anyone fails or succeeds.
  4. So when are we getting the story on how it went ? I have to live vicariously through you guys.
  5. Every question , every possible pitcher or position player we have or think is a staple for years to come will drastically change in a year and then in another year and also when the Sox sign whoever they manage to sign from the list of FA's. Plus I have been preaching forever to anyone who thinks the whole staff is coming from the prospects and who thinks when said prospects fail or get injured we are doomed, that the number of changes still to come will be mind boggling. Anyone trying to project much of anything seems to be doing it just because the ML team is bad and the only thing to talk about is the prospects. I will just sit back and relax and try to pretend that the Sox rebuild will be as successful as the Astros and Cubs.
  6. There was a post also that said the Sox better not bring him up this year I assume because of how bad he has looked lately and I thought hmm there's like 4 months left in the season all Kopech has to do is have maybe 4-5 good/great/dominant starts in a row that shows some command of his pitches. I think he can do that . He had a crappy month as well last year and then rebounded very nicely. On the other hand I have been one of the few who think we will see Eloy up before Kopech but it's entirely possible they are brought up together.
  7. Not only that but I don't think the Sox have won 3 in a row all season and then no Rodon or Anderson in the lineup. He must have been pissed when he saw that.
  8. That guy placing the $5000 bet on the Sox must be pissed off right about now.
  9. It was actually the first 4 figure bet, $5000. The Governor had placed the 1st legal bets, $20 each on the Devils to win the Stanley Cup and Germany to win the World Cup .
  10. https://sports.yahoo.com/first-four-figure-dollar-bet-150004920.html The first four-figure dollar bet in New Jersey is on the White Sox to beat the Indians.
  11. Sox get another shot at a 3 game win streak. Will it finally happen ?
  12. Surprised I haven't seen any tweets about the last time in one game there was a 3-6 and 3-5 DP on ground balls. Jose made some strong accurate throws on those plays. The 3-5 was particularly impressive.
  13. I've also consistently argued on here about framing stats maybe not as have you done showing the inconsistencies but more along the lines of it's not just a catcher thing. It involves a pitcher and an umpire but that could be where the inconsistencies come from . Year to year a catcher has different pitchers to catch and different umps behind him. We all know umps have different zones and pitchers can have reps that get them calls while other get the rookie treatment or because of lack of command just don't get the good calls on pitches others do get. Some pitches, like a curve bal,l the umps seem to do a worse job on calling them strikes especially ones at the bottom of the zone which is where a curve is really most effective.
  14. Must be pretty rare to have a 1st baseman turn 2 DP's the way Jose did tonight.
  15. 8 straight games now without a run given up by the bullpen
  16. Hard to belive we win much of anything with that OF but Tilson hasnt been terrible and the defense with those 3 is much better.
  17. I went to one of the playoff games against the Angels . The clinching game if i recall. Anyway everybody have fun tonight . Everybody wang chung tnight.
  18. I think we see close to 20 promotion/demotions with all the accompanying emotions .
  19. If the bullpen can stay as hot as they have been maybe the Sox can finagle a decent prospect by packaging a few of them together. Unfortunately it's a long way to the trade deadline giving the BP plenty of time to be bad again. That's just the life of relievers , There are reasons the Sox have played very close to .500 ball over the last 29 games and it's mostly the bullpen while dumping Fulmer and the emergence of Covey.
  20. Avi 1 for 2 with a walk with Charlotte Tuesday night batting 2nd . Taken out early since it was his 1st game .
  21. Avi 1 for 2 with a walk with Charlotte Tuesday.
  22. This was the 7th game in a row the bull pen has not given up a run. Remarkable !
  23. Nice to see Davidson get a couple of doubles. He had been struggling since the back issues. Great pitching once again. Who are these guys ? Sweet start to the game with the back to back HR's by Moncada and Yolmer.
