  1. Penny didn't look bad today. Final line doesn't show it because Petricka gave up a bomb with Penny having left a runner on 1st , but for the most part he kept the ball down and threw strikes.
  2. Rodon the Reliever lights out and Hawkins just wow !
  3. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 20, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) I thought this game will be on MLB NETWORK? Showing Athletics at Rockies instead.... Yea it blows > I rushed home from work because I dvr'd it this morning when its said Sox v. Cubs and now I come home to Rox /A's and not showing Sox/Cubs till 6AM PST when I'll be headed back to work again . Aholes
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) It's not rap. It's awful 80's bubblegum pop. By a band from the UK called the Ballboys but changed the name to Outfield for the US. your list is limited by the way. It should go from ABBA to Zappa. No music collection should be complete without some Mothers! Oh come now ptatc do you really think a guy like me wouldn't know the Outfield isn't rap ? I was just stating that my musical tastes do not include rap when I know a lot of the younger folks on here like it. And saying Abba to Sex Pistols was not an alphabetical list it was variance of musical styling, that soft rock pure pop eurobeat to the maniacally ear pounding anti-establishment declaration of war that scream F you at everything punk rock. Sorry my friend no Zappa but I do have ZZ Top , The Zombies and Zager and Evans . oops left out Warren Zevon . My ipod lists it under W.
  5. Trailing the pack by 14 lengths Gordon Beckham starts making his move. Coming up on the outside now trailing by 7 lengths after a massive display of raw power today with 2 doubles and a HR , secure in the knowledge that front runners almost always fade and rarely win the race.
  6. At least the guy has a built in nickname bashers can use in a game thread. Just take the R out of Brad Penny.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) That song is the best thing about his signing and makes me reconsider my opinion on it. It's a classic. My ipod has almost 4000 songs on it and that isn't one of them . Of course I'm also old and picking from about 50 years of rock music. And my musical taste is all over the place from Abba to the Sex Pistols . Sorry rap fans can't stand it
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) Absolutely love that Hawkins is still getting PT. Got to be a big time confidence booster for the kid. I hope when is does get assigned down, he mashes in AA. Have you seen any of the interviews with him in camp ? Dude looks 30 at least to me. As young as he is the guy is a big man.
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) Robertson in to pitch the 6th . Promptly gives up a walk to Phillips and a HR to Frazier.
  10. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Yeah, but in the past they have allowed AL teams to use a DH no matter who the home team is. I don't recall any of our pitchers batting yet this spring, and we've played away games against LAD, SD, COL, and ARZ. Guess the Reds didn't want to cooperate with that plan.
  11. OAK and Seattle playing on MLB network. Semien 0-3 ,Bassitt 2 perfect innings.
  12. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 02:28 PM) Quintana is batting? What? Why? NL home park I'm guessing ?
  13. Nope 2nd and 3rd no outs and Marquis pitched out of it . 4-1 Sox
  14. Beltre pops out for 1st out of the inning . Marquis still in to face Avi. Might not be pretty .
  15. Q singles ! Bonifacio doubles. Marquis gotta be done.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Beckham double..wow. Over Hamilton's head apparently so must've been well struck.
  17. Bonifacio has 2 errors today playing second base but the 1 run the Reds have is earned.
  18. Beckham gets his 2nd ht of the spring, doubling to bring home Wilkins who was on 2nd base after a walk and balk.
  19. Sox just went ahead in the 4th. Bonifacio and Avi walked , Alexei brought them both home with a double. Up until that point Jason Marquis had been perfect through 3 .
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 08:17 AM) Right now, hard to say, but I think he'd be on par overall (just better at some things, worse at others). This 30 PA in Arizona are really only a small part of the evaluation for me, and the stats are not even a major part of that, as I detailed in the article. That too. Though he still really only has a short time in AAA, which is a concern. I think the time is now for Micah without extra seasoning in the minors. As you said he's got options to burn and he brings the most to the table of any of his competitors. Certainly a case can be made for Sanchez but he is almost 2 years younger and Micah seems very mature and ready for the challenge that lies ahead. It wouldn't hurt Sanchez to spend another year in the minors . Micah's speed will only play for so long as that mid twenty something age turns to 30 quickly . If his speed is going to play I'd rather it be sooner than later. BTW it's caveat emptor not umptor .
