  1. All right boys Easy does it. Just have to be patient with Weaver . Like any pitcher who throws junk he relies on a hitter getting himself out more than anything. This game should be just as entertaining as the others. Just saw Flava Fraz aka the Toddfather on MLB network talking with fellow Jersey Boys Mark DeRosa and Al Leiter. Quite entertaining. DeRosa brought up that the Sox defense is 2nd in defensive efficiency ( whatever that is ) . Showed highlights of good defense by Frazier, Lawrie and Eaton. Talked about defense and attitude than anything else.
  2. QUOTE (Brutus @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:59 AM) Hello everyone... New to the board. GO SOX! Hey Brtus welcome ! Tell Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Swee' Pea hello . Also tell Wimpy he owes me for that hamburger. He's got until Tuesday to pay me.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) Meh if Sands holds on or the ump makes the correct call on that check swing, it's fine. I like the Robertson call. Sands did hold on, he never lost possession or bobbled it the yet some how he didn't have it ?
  4. Hmm interesting doubt they say he had control of it but it was pinned to his body by his arm and didnt look as if it was bobbled just rolled it down his arm to his hand.
  5. Thought for sure Richards would be gone after last inning. Pitch count up there and was all over the place lat inning until Sands swung at ball 4 and Avila couldnt catch up to the heat.
  6. Having Melky bunt while batting lefty and being one of the hotter Sox hitters is questionable especially with the bottom of the order coming up.Had to they'd put a runner on 1st to set up a DP .
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Time for Avila to go deep. Deep enough. Nice bunt AJ . Let's get more .
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Didn't see it, but DJ and Farmer said that his foot didn't get to the base. Well they are just plain wrong , his foot hit the base hard.
  9. In the Sox last 5 wins the have shut out the opponent 3 times and held them to 1 run twice.
  10. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/173...eason-dominance Article about Latos command of the strike zone and his approach.
  11. So far Latos has been the best addition the Sox made this off season.
  12. I still question having a thread pinned that no one has posted in for 4 months especially when game threads sometimes have good discussions going on in them and are booted to the archives almost immediately. Not only that but since now I've posted , it will be the very 1st subject listed on page 1 . Shouldn't this be in the diamond club ?
  13. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 07:01 AM) Maybe it's just the dreary weather, but coupled with the last few games, there is a very funereal atmosphere going into this one. This would be a very bad time for Latos to finally come back to earth. Well I think it's high time we put the fun back into funereal. Lets make that fun real
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) I'd go Kahnle. I'd agree based on the Sox not wanting to mess with Charlotte's rotation but if they don't care about that might be Gonzales or Turner for possible long relief.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 08:41 AM) I like turtles. I was trying to remember where I heard that and I'm pretty sure it was something on Tosh.0 . with a little kid.
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) This house needs some updating actually. I dont think he gets near the asking on this one. Facetious or no ? House built in 2010 and looks amazing in a crazy rich area.
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 01:56 PM) I admittedly have a higher estimation/valuation of Saladino than his numbers would warrant. And I hate rents....their high failure rate just does that to me. That the winning organizations don't dump their good young players, also does that to me. I'd rather that approach than than Kenny Williams 3/16 methods. But par usual, here come the pejoratives for Sox prospects.... "utility infielder" just like Trayce is a "4th outfielder" and Semien and Phegley (who out-hit 1/2 the Sox regulars last year) are scrubs. While Cooper was pining and awing over Hector Noesi, Bassit was putting up solid numbers for a back end starter. Let's not forget that utility infielder Escobar, who has outplayed every Sox SS since the Williams traded him. On what basis is Saladino a utility infielder... Because Cooper and Ventura think he is? Because he's not highly ranked? Sometimes solid, but not spectacular minor league numbers translate to solid major leaguers. Check out the Giants infield sometime. I'm kind of with you on this only because giving up 25-30 years worth of players for 1 year (in hindsight) of a sucky player or 2 years of players who still have to prove their worth feels pointless. It's so easy to say what we gave up is trash but maybe the light goes on somewhere along the way for some of these guys. With guys like Jackson and Latos on 1 year deals and Lawrie and Frazier on 2 years sustaining anything positive the Sox get might prove difficult.Yes everything feels good now but it can easily turn around quickly when others teams start getting 4 runs a game.
  18. It's a beautiful thing when most of page 1 is filled with " And that's a White Sox winner."
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Everything he threw yesterday has decent movement. Latos throws a lot of different pitches, cutter, fastball, 2 seamer, curve ,slider , splitter and changeup. He knows how to keep hitters off balance when he can command those pitches.
  20. There used to be a running joke about Paul Konerko and his house. Forgot what it was but PK is selling his home if anyone is interested for a mere $6.9M. Link has interior and exterior pictures. http://www.latimes.com/business/realestate...0414-story.html
  21. Seems like forever that Suzuki, Plouffe, and Dozier haven't contributed mightily to Sox misfortunes. As Hawk says," It's not who you play it's when you play them." Pitching has been beastly. If Latos can be solid at 4 not even as good as he's been but ERA under 4.00 Sox make the playoffs, if key players remain healthy.
  22.
