Avi is hitting right handers very well so far with an .837 OPS He has far less AB's against lefties but (SSS) terrible stats. I would imagine most of those AB 's against lefties came while he was struggling. If he ends up hitting well against LH and RH it would be great.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 11, 2016 -> 06:17 PM) I'll always have that 9 or 10 pitch at bat of his that led to a walk a couple days ago in my memory bank. What a man. What a player. What a legend. Sad to see him go. So are we going to see a Hector Sanchez appreciation thread ?

I'm thinking no Lincecum for the Sox with the Ranaudo pickup.

Couldn't a batter theoretically defeat a technology that calls pitches by making his strike zone smaller by crouching more every at bat ? Ricky Henderson walked a lot because not only did he have a good eye but he also made himself smaller. So then theoretically could not a team of small folks make a mockery of the game just by standing there and basically dare the pitcher to throw the ball into a very small strike zone ? The 1st question I asked is serious. The one about little people not so much.

Thanks for sharing . Good one,

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) Are we having fun yet. ? Might as well get 10 runs at least because Rangers might score just as much. Was really hoping I'd be wrong.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Final score might be 11-10 You had a chance.

Why isn't Lawrie sliding directly into 2nd base ?

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) How come Carroll in the 7th? Are you sure you pay attention to the Sox ? Check the bullpen usage in the last 2 box scores , especially last nights extra inning game

Pretty gutsy performance by Rodon pitching as long as he did after the rain delay.

Way to go Avi ! There's the " at least 10 " I wanted.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) Latest inning GS since Sept 30th 1916 from Happy Felsch for the Sox. So is he now Happy Frazier ?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesomeness !

Can Robertson have 2 blown saves in one game ?

Nats and Strasburg just agreed to a 7 year $175M extension. Wow !

Good outing Gonzo !

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 8, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) Is Hawk missing his 2nd favorite day of the year?!? Is Gordon Beckham playing today ?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) He was swinging at pitches that would have resulted in a DP even if he hit it Exactly pitcher wants to keep ball down looking for the DP and he should know that and make the pitcher come to him.

It's taken me a while because I wanted to give Abreu the benefit of the doubt, but I'm really starting to question his baseball IQ. He's constantly swinging and missing the curves down and away when he gets behind in the count and he should know they are coming. Or that last AB the pitcher probably didn't throw one strike and Jose should be looking for a ball up that he can drive and he K's on a ball way low.

That sucks couldn't get the new slide rule at 2nd call a few games ago and can't get the plate block rule call either.

Doesn't look like he ever touched the plate.

If the Yankees continue to stink it up Carlos Beltran wouldn't be a bad addition. He's a free agent next year so not a long commitment . He's making $15M this year so prorated and maybe the Yanks eat some of it and the price is in range.

Q ! Abreu ! Eaton ! Robertson ! Base on balls !
