Not really....wasn't this biggest positive from having the money by shipping CLee getting AJ? Either way...the guy I miss is Frank. I guarantee we probably would be looking at a 9-10 game lead still. Which has always been posing a question in my mind...was Frank allowed to come back too soon...and would it have even mattered with his injury?
-
"I did it because I thought it was better for the team and better for him. I move a lot of people around in the lineup. Just because he moved a couple of spots down, that doesn't mean nothing. If Carl has a bad feeling about it, get four hits and I'll move you back." This pretty much sums it up....'nough said.

Today's the day....I've heard for the last 3 years what a lights out, big-game pitcher this guy is...well Freddy...it's put up or STFU day for you. If Freddy lays a f***in egg today....I'd seriously think about including him in some sort of package in the off season.

I know this was probably hashed and rehashed....and second guessing has become second nature...but I just sat there all night wondering why.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) You can't say "f*** this team" (or "f*** the white sox", whichever you prefer [doesnt matter since they are the same]) or "see you in 2007 when you have balls" (or something along those lines) and still be a fan. Saying "f***, we suck right now" is different, as you pointed out before. I must not have got that memo....thanks for tellin' us what we can or can't do when we're fans. Obviously everybody on here is a fan....or they wouldn't be on here....ya think?!?

I'm tryin' to look at the bright side and hope maybe I can make some good quiche sellin these...or at least update my sig for the next month with it.

I'm not underestimating the fact that Cleveland could have a pretty big letdown after a huge series with the Sox (as well as looking ahead). Tampa's played fairly well as of late...and hopefully KC can pull their head's out of their asses for at least one game.

I'm not sure I'm diggin on that too much...all the time off. Hopefully he'll be sharp. I'm just lookin forward to seein him throw again.

Wanne replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
go to chisox.com...no pics...but at least ya get to see it again...along with Crede's blast. I'm still all f***in jacked up!!!! That's why I love AJ...s*** like that. You hate him if he's not on your team....but GODDAMN I'm glad he's on the Sox!!!!! -
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) That was classic. WGN showed it....that was my FAVORITE moment of the season by far!!!! I'm so jacked up right now!!!!!

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) It's us against the world. f*** 'EM! Let's GO!!!! I wish they'd take this attitude to heart and puff out their nuts!

f*** the grind Ozzie...there's under 20 games left. You do this stuff in July and August....NOT September!

They ran out to a huge lead, got bored and lost their edge. They weren’t used to being targets everywhere they went, unlike the Yankees, who know teams like the Royals eye them as their World Series and they’re prepared for every game. So the Sox go into a stadium with like 158 people, in the rain, and don’t play it like it matters. The result is they scored 14 runs the last two days and lost two games. But these big series with Minnesota and Cleveland might be just what the doctor ordered. They’ll need to focus and mentally prepare, and they should be ready for the challenge. If not, the Sox are in danger of suffering a monumental collapse, but it’s not the ’69 Cubs, a great team that never fulfilled its destiny. Yes, the 2005 Sox will forever be known as chokers, but in reality they’ll have been a good team that forgot how to play great. That wouldn’t be a disaster. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/rozner.asp?id=95169

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) and Iguchi is f'n clutch. Yeah...when he's in the lineup.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) If this team doesn't make the playoffs, say goodbye to PK, and I'll be shocked if we raised payroll at all. And I agree that this will have a negative impact on the franchise. We have a lot of bandwagon fans, and there's going to be a lot of pissed off jumpers. Our loyal fans are not enough to result in great attendance figures no matter how the team is playing. I think that's what this one dude started a thread with yesterday and implied this and I think kind of half-jokingly said they should move team cause attendence will plummet....only to get met with everybody jumping all over his ass. I agree with ya though...besides the diehards...people will not waste their time and money on them unless they make significant improvements. Obviously the winning with speed, defense and pitching isn't working at this point in the season.

How the hell can you blame Ozzie for Carl being a complete dips*** on the bases and taking us out of a possible few more runs. 3 OUTS ON THE BASES EARLY ON! I'm tellin ya...I don't give a s*** if Ozzie doesn't thing goin off would help....but it time...you've got nothing to lose.

QUOTE(Hermanson32 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) If the Sox lose tomorrow it's just about over. Ozzie better go in the f***ing locker room and just throw a chair or something and absolutely let everyone have it. GET THEIR ATTENTION OZZIE! They are taking this lead they once had for granted and it's getting pathetic. The Sox owe their fans more than this. I'm waitin for that too...it's bound to happen at some point. He's been fine when it's all been good...but if the Sox blow this lead...I look for Ozzie to EXPLODE!...which he should instead of suckin ass with these guys all the time and bein buddy-buddy. I'm ready for one of these... http://www.moviewavs.com/0068546127/WAVS/M...am/lollygag.wav

QUOTE(Hermanson32 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) This place treats members way better than WSI anyways. Cheers to Soxtalk! Amen!...this site ROCKS!!! I never knew about it until WillieHarris on the bears board told me about it...after I b****ed about getting banned for a week. I equate WSI with when I played ball in college. When we took 2 vans for short trips...there was the party van...and the goody-goody van. We always lost the goody van and hit nearest drive through liquor store for cervases...this place is the party van! This post has been edited to remove objectionable material. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) The White Sox are 8 games up on New York for the Wild Card, if you wish to look at it that way. If the Sox back door into the playoffs via Wild Card...they've already lost...meaning...if they lose this lead and don't win the division...their confidence will already be shot and they'll be done...simple as that.

I almost think I'd send Frank up there with a cast on instead of some of these enemic putzs'. To say Frank wouldn't help this team right now is ridiculous. If he's not brought back next year...I'll be pissed. How many more games do you think having Frank in the lineup would we have won already?!?...I think we'd be at least 10-11 games up right now.
-
Just came over to post this. That's the thing you rolled the dice on with Griffey...not if he gets hurt....when. And you can bet yer ass he probably would have done something and gotten hurt had he come over. I hate to see him hurt again...but am very glad this deal didn't get done now.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) It's about f***ing time, and I'll be happy if they win about 5 or 6 more in a row. We're due....long overdue!

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) Wouldn't Joe Borchard or and god help me greg Norton look good agaisnt a below average righty? The kind that we seem lost against (Towers, Meche, etc.) I am not saying these guys are the answer but what is the purpose of Jon Adkins? Borchard can strike out as much as Rowand and Dye but can still get a run with one swing. I AM NOT SAYING HE IS THE DIFFERENCE, just an option as s***ty as it may be. I brought up Borchard over the weekend only to be met by rasberries. He should be here soon enough. I mean why not...like you said...at least an option who couldn't do any worse than some of these skirts right now.
