Does anybody still have hope?
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) Not the greatest player ever, just one of the most important players to the 2005 White Sox offense. Yeah...if he gets on base...which seems to be a pretty tall order for any of these dudes anymore. Sure glad we built this team on pitching and defense. One minor oversight....2 or 3 runs a game isn't too much to ask for is it....GODDAMN!

If your gonna whine and jump off a cliff
I'm so tired of these chicken-s*** heartless f***ers! When Paul Konerko...who has the leadership abilities of a cold sore is who you're relying on to spark your team...that pretty much says it all! Somebody...GODDMAN...step up...and more than one at a time if ya don't mind. Who was the dude who threw a no-hitter about 10 years ago and lost?....think the game went into extra innings. I think it was the Sox and Tigers. Thank God football is here...cause these guys are truly gonna blow it if they don't get their head out of their collective asses.

WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE(Hanky Panky @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) I'm thrilled that the offense came through in today's (actually yesterday's game b/c it's 12:30 a.m.). Good job boys. I'm even more thrilled at the Count's performance. He scattered eleven hits & gave up only one earned run. Most importantly, he walked none. I'm not tryin to piss in anybody's Cheerios or anything....but GODDAMN...we had on good inning. The Sox scored in 1 of 8 innings today...combined with a horrid streak of 2 runs in 3 days. So...I'm still not jumping on the "We're Back" bandwagon yet....sorry. I'd still like to see a couple of runs per inning here and there...not this, score 3 in the first and don't do s*** the rest of the game which has been there M.O.

Hell...I'm ready for Borchard
I can't believe I'd ever utter those words again....but GODDAMN! If there's not a deal done soon (if there even was gonna be one)...they better pull the trigger soon. And guess what Hawk...they'd find a place for Griff to play. It may or may not happen...but if these guys don't start gettin their collective heads outta their asses....something MUST be done...and Morrisey can go F himself and his feel good article. Remember when Phil was coach of the bulls....when he was pissed at his starters...he'd sit all their asses. Skiles has that same approach. Maybe Ozzie should take notice. Crede...bench. Even ARow is pushing it. And guess what...I don't give a s*** how good Uribe plays short...if he doesn't quit puttin his foot in the bucket on every goddamn pitch....have a seat. I'm not even go off on my Greg Walker tirade. IMO....Greg Walker = Tits on a Frog!...worthless.

What this team needs
This is what this team needs....they're mentally constipated!

What should Ozzie do....
Needless to say it's pathetic watching these guys now...as I'm sure alot of you agree. But what do you think Oz should do? The run production has been a friggin joke. The pitching has been adequate....but GODDAMN! Granted...some of Oz's moves have been a little questionable at times...but there's not much he can do if nobody is producing. So what... a) Just let them ride the hitting slump out? b ) Go off? c) Get involved more with Walker? d) Have a kegger or 2 with the boys? I'm at a complete loss. Personally, I'm almost leaning towards (d)...I swear. Hell...some of the best games I've ever had I was hung over as s*** going on not much zzzzz. Guess it takes your mind off of stuff. Bring in a f***in hyponotist or something for Christ sake! I haven't jumped off the ledge yet.....YET!

What's the best sox game
It was 1989....the Sox played the Angels at old Comiskey. We were down the 3rd base line on the lower deck in the last row before the walkway. They had a make-shift beer vender (50gal drums full of ice and beers) along the rail right directly behind us. We didn't have to leave our seat once or wait for a vendor...nothin...just turn around. The best part (if it gets any better than that)...there were 3 gorgeous girls sitting right in front of us that we hit it off with. After the game we went to Lake Shore Drive with them and back to their place and pretty much partied all night. To this day I have no idea if the Sox won or lost?!? God smiled on us that day!!!

6th August Game Thread - Sox vs. Mariners
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) but the guy has great endurance and stamina for a 40 year old. He has too....have ya ever seen his wife?!?.....She's pretty hot! I was talkin to this women out at Peoria Sports Complex one spring game a few years back...very hot...very nice. I had my son out there with me and we were out in the left field grass. I was talking to this woman for probably 10 minutes or so...pretty much fixated on how hot she was besides being really nice....and her kids where standing against the outfield fence. Then I heard her kids yelling..."Dad....Hey Dad...." to Jamie Moyer as he was getting his running in. I suddenly felt.......out of my league. Very nice lady though.....besides DAMN HOT! So yeah...probably a good reason for his stamina right there!!!

DeLuca's colimn today
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) We are not one of the 5 teams that Griffey could be traded to with out waiving his clause. Griffey stated nothing explicitly about not going to the White Sox, except for spring training in Arizona. Not sure why people read so much into these articles. SB No....he said Spring Training in TUCSON...not Arizona...big difference. He spent (how many years) with the Mariners training in Peoria? Also...he was always very cordial and receptive to fan requests out here from what I could see.
-
What's the waiver order actually...
So if it's common knowledge that a deal has been struck with a certain team...another team can claim in terms of trying to block it? And ultimately the team that put the player on waivers can revoke the waivers?...is this kinda how it goes?
-
What's the waiver order actually...
Just a question...I'm not sure if it starts (as you would think) with the team with the worst record forward or what?

DeLuca's colimn today
Seriously...why all the FU's tossed at Jr?!?....just because he doesn't want to go to Chicago? Don't take it so personal...I don't think it's about the team at all. He's mentioned that he likes the Sox team and that they're good...it just doesn't fit into his personal profile of places he wants to go...nothing wrong with that. How would you feel if your boss told you tomorrow you were being transferred to Phillly or NY tomorrow if you wanted...what would you say? (point being...away from what you're comfortable with). One comment he had that was hysterical though...."Spring training in Tucson?!?...." which translated means, "F-that..." and I hardly blame him. That was a great story about the boy...glad to see these guys could step up and take care of him during his time of need. Props to Jr! btw...I think Jr wants to go to ATL.

Griffey Deal never happened
QUOTE(Bighurt52235 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) "But..... Spring Training in Tuscon?" I thought that was pretty funny. That was funny as s***....and he's right! Tucson blows!

Dead arm period?
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) You got that right... "Watch out!!!!... Oh s***.. I think I just hit the car... " OUCH!... You guys are brutal!...but then again...I've never seen the dude throw.
-
Dead arm period?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) You can get a dead arm from pitching regularly, you don't necessarily have to be overworked. Exactly...and you know when you have it too. I'd get it for a stretch of about 2 weeks...but just takin' a week off or so does wonders.

Do the Sox need to look over their shoulders
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) If the Sox have the best record in the league at the end of the season and the A's get the wildcard we will meet in 1st round of the playoffs. Check out our stats vs them and see why some people are worried. What does that have to do with looking over your shoulder?!? Personally...I couldn't give a s*** less who the Sox play in the playoffs. To tell you the truth...I hope the Yankees start winnin and get the wildcard (doubtful). But it really makes know difference to me...just gotta take care of yer own biz.
-
Dead arm period?
It happens...and just about this time of year. It happens a month or so out of ST also. It's just something that occurs...and to tell you the truth...it wouldn't bother me seeing somebody like Adkins get a start (which is what he's been doing) to push everybody back a day or so.

Do the Sox need to look over their shoulders
I didn't know which post to quote...basically all the one's that said who gives a f***! a)...why would you even romotely care about somebody who's fighting for their division lead and a wild card?!? All the Sox need to worry about it who's behind them in the division...period! f*** the A's!

3 hole hitter
Leave ARow where he's at. The only other place I'd want him in the lineup is 2nd...and that ain't gonna happen with Gooch. Oz really doesn't have a whole lotta choice right now...and I really dont' wanna see who bat's third by who's hot...if that's the case...hell...bat AJ 3rd.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) I make mine in Microsoft Word. Yer s***tin me?!? Had know idea it had that kind of functionality. I've always had people try to send me logos they did in Word...but could never access 'em. Of course...I don't ever use it...or even have it...I'm strictly Mac and use primarily InDesign, Photoshop & Illus. BTW...don't you bums have jobs?!?

A Long Way Back
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) I can root for Honel, but he's likely done within the organization. He will have to be put back on the 40 man next off-season to protect him in the Rule 5 draft, and unless he puts up some impressive numbers in the second half, he'll be left off, and snatched up by another team. That doesn't mean he won't be back, cuz I don't think he'll stick in the bigs next season. It's going to be a long road back for Honel. There's no way the Sox won't protect Honel.

Rafael Palmeiro
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) Is Barry Bonds subject to testing this year? I'm still one of those conspiracy theorist who thinks Bonds is merely serving a suspension and not really hurt that has been portreyed to the public that way to save face of MLB....kind of like the theorists who thought the same about Jordan when he missed the '94 season due to his links to gambling!

For those that missed today's game....
