  1. I always thought it was excessive. Glad it was overturned given what happened after.
  2. first of many 0fers. I wonder if it's the cardinals that go Dan Quinn. They really should get an experienced coach for where the team is at.
  3. My guesses: McVay "retires". Given how things tend to work out for the rams recently, would be funny if Payton and McVay basically swap places and Payton goes to LA, McVay goes to booth. Was a nightmare year but I still think Rams talent is strong and Payton would rather work with a Stafford type. Broncos fire hacket, hire harbaugh. I think they are a more likely fit for Harbaugh since Paton is now in this weird state where he is sort of neutered with his terrible decisions. Harbaugh clearly wants nfl with rich owners that align with him. Carolina - I could see Wilks maybe staying for a year while Carolina sees what's possible in offseason, but I'd say more likely that they go after like Kafka. Arizona - controversial but I say they keep Kingsbury another year. Houston - made their decision, I feel like they'll have to go to college to get a coach, I don't know why. Not sure who fits mold but maybe Todd Monken return. Browns should move on but I think they keep stefanski. Atlanta - I gotta wonder where this is going. Hard to pull the plug after just giving Smith Mariota and saying fix it, but when you see someone like Dan Campbell integrating the young players and ascending to a winning record, it's hard to watch the falcons in a not great division just be nothing for multiple years under smith. I say he's fired Commanders - keep Rivera since everything will be a holding pattern until the sale. If I was Jets I'd fire saleh. That defense was incredibly talented, you made the gamble to go after playoffs with a backup and you didn't get in playoffs and don't have a QB long-term. I would imagine Jets will be the leverage played against baltimore in their Lamar saga. Then they sign baker mayfield. So I guess 6 new coaches is my guess. I'd say Dan Quinn gets a job. Kafka gets a job. Payton obviously, harbaugh makes move. Then last is todd monken gets a job.
  4. I have to say my memory of when Lovie was hired was that the club was in transition, in chaos, and couldn't find the coach they wanted so they handed it to Lovie who was well respected in the org. I kinda thought at the time everyone assumed he was just the equivalent of a placeholder. Didn't realize so many expected him as a long term hire. And given that Mills didn't really take the next step and the team didn't fare much better, not sure why you'd keep him around if you don't view him as the long term guy. But obviously that org is a mess, not saying it's good, just surprised that many thought lovie would be there past this year.
  5. Well... I would very much imagine that insurance recoups the sox explicitly for a situation like this. So they may have Liam's salary at neutral. And I would guess they definitely had insurance on his contract.
  6. That’s what we thought this year. The season will tell.
  7. It does look like survival rates in Liam’s age group are much higher, and hopefully he is in a stage 1 or 2 scenario. Godspeed. Terrible news.
  8. I hope Bears get some better luck next year on SOS. Been a brutal run recently.
  9. Man this stuff is so terrible. You know the odds are he will fight this and live a long happy life, yet also know that’s no guarantee. I really hope there have been some advancements here. That 74% rate someone threw out is not the most reassuring thing to see.
  10. Exactly. And the possibility of getting pick 31 and then a future first from colts to still then get Carter.
  11. I did yes, I don’t know why I always pair Wilson with Bryce. Is there a Bryce Wilson? Is it just generic last name substitution? We’ll never know.
  12. Also now that we have the number one pick I fully support all bears fans loudly talking about how they’d rather draft Wilson over fields. I hear he is a generational QB, best accuracy since Rodgers. Bears would need a HUGE trade to consider not drafting Wilson.
  13. It says 2021 right? That’s not impossible, given that fans didn’t get in until June. Shows how terrible of a business man he is though given how the braves pulled a 100 mill profit.
  14. No no let’s get young so that after he completes a thirty yard pass to the ten getsy can use his accuracy to run three straight times and kick a field goal
  15. Fields has led the bears to become a team that will end up top five in explosive plays. Any offensive coordinator would gladly work backwards from there, especially when the talent is so poor. Getsy has run the ball so much as part preference, part that his offensive line was immensely better at run blocking than pass protection. Fields number 2 receiver was a #5 on Getsys previous team. You can even hear from the coaching staff how much happier they were on fields progress vs the first few weeks. Bryce Young is a great QB prospect, and I think he’ll be good. He’s also very small, and could easily have injuries pile up.
  16. Lol if you think getsy scrapped his system. There was not much different than weeks 1-4 except some more planned runs and much better execution from Fields (including running when he should have ran in the first few weeks).
  17. Today really is the Super Bowl for the bears. They may very well be able to get paid by the Texans just to move back to 2, and then get paid by a team to get Stroud. I always felt like stroud would move up pre draft, but it’s still not a sure thing. For my whole life it felt like the bears were always one pick behind the fulcrum of the draft, just behind the team that had all the leverage to trade down. #2 should be strong regardless, but to really be the team holding the cards on how the draft will fall would be so sweet.
  18. I’d say Forbes is like consistently 40% below selling price. Sometimes more.
  19. There have been three writers now that have linked Gleybar to the Sox. Not necessarily the world beaters, but Bruce joins Bowden and then a few weeks ago Dan O’Dowd.
  20. For Romy, I think that’s true. Given Sosa and Jose’s age I don’t see them sustaining success in AAA this year as a block. They have a lot they can work on, even if I’d like Sosa to work on it in majors. But Romy is ideally our new Leury.
  21. Exactly. Also So strange how board buys into Joey gallo crumbling under New Yorks pressure but the guy getting crushed for not being the heir apparent to Jeter is never afforded same sympathy.
