  1. A big diff with Cam is look at the difference in how they ran with Cam. They ran Cam in goal to go situations like Tim Tebow. I do think it's notable how Lamar Jackson has showed how you can run with less punishment. I didn't think Fields had it in him but he has definitely taken way less hits running way more than he did last year. In the 173 yard game he was hit less than in the texans game. But yes, he still has to evolve. I think it's crazy how productive he's been though given the talent around him. I think our center is probably not as terrible as he was last year. But I think our RT/C positions are below average at best. Our receivers we know about.
  2. I think what gets underrated with Fields still is when Lamar Jackson took over I think a lot of us were like "oh wow what Lamar Jackson did at Louisville is translating". This isn't what Justin Fields looked like at Ohio State. I just will refuse to make a verdict on wilson, lance and fields because their progression has much less precidence. Teams are trying to take guys that had big play ability and bring them along. Not guy sthat showed they could manage the offense and cross your fingers they also have big play ability in NFL. It's hard, maybe it takes longer. But Fields was an incredible athlete who loved to throw it deep but had a knack for big plays. Gets to NFL and realizes what can be taken away, but learns he's faster than every lineman and linebacker. Soon he'll learn what that means for hitting the deep ball and middle of field. Or not. We don't know, there's no real comparisons here. We have Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. so like 2 guys.
  3. thank you Rejected, is a FA Willson Contreras Chris Bassit Nathan Eovaldi Tyler Anderson Accepted, is no longer a FA Martin Perez
  4. Yeah but Set-up men are like buying groceries. You pay what you have to. A closer is shopping for a car, way more irrational and romantic. And then graveman, who already had some success as a closer, becomes the budget closer and normalizes some of our bullpen spend. Probably not a great idea for a world series contender but hey.
  5. yeah I still think calling the yankees will be a good idea. The FA market for them doesn't look great, and they need to replace quite a bit. I think they'd love a guy they know will perform with the lights on.
  6. I don't really see 2b as a big priority but if you did, I think Vera hits a sweet spot. He still has a few years to build up his arm, and because of when he signed is still a 2 years from protection I believe?
  7. Basically replace josh bell with gavin sheets.
  8. Ah, I thought that was later. Yes, okay then I definitely think Josh from Soxmachine is just indicating he thinks sox should do what they can to get lowe by this roster crunch.
  9. Actually I'm not sure why the QO deadline should affect Lowe situation so maybe I'm wrong.
  10. I read his tweet as "the white sox should be doing everything possible to get Brandon Lowe since the roster deadline is 11/15" not "the white sox are going to get brandon lowe by tomorrow" in that way
  11. I kinda hope they win some games to fall behind bears in draft. They are either a QB trade up candidate or a massive trade down candidate. Either way, you'd want them behind Bears to have the opportunities for either. I thought McDaniels would work the second time around. I'm amazed how bad it is. That offense has the skill positions to be top 5 in NFL. It's amazing.
  12. I think people at $10M are hedging that risk enough. He'll likely get $15-16 just judging by some recent deals. I wouldn't touch him with ten foot pole.
  13. I think this cuts across a few of Hahn's tendencies...plausible. I would probably guess more than Vaughn goes out, and that people would be revolted by the return but it does save the Pads around $17M so I thought it was plausible. I did not tender Eaton. Team: C - Grandal, Zavala, Perez INF - Bell, Moncada, Anderson, Amaya, Mendick, Sosa, Romy, Leury OF - Robert, Grisham, Colas, Outman DH - Eloy, Sheets SP - Cease, Lynn, Snell, Kopech, Lopez/Martin BP - Hendriks, Graveman, Bummer, Crochet, Kelly, Diekman, Lambert Add $3-4 M for that random vet SP we'll sign. Positive accomplishments: - Increase in left handed power - Increase in defensive flexibility - Moves Eloy to DH - Maintains Bullpen depth Negatives: - SP will almost certainly bring you much less production than last year - Loss of huge amounts of offensive production from Vaughn/Abreu Overall, you'd assume to target this group at 81 wins again unless Moncada/Anderson/Robert/Grandal get their s%*# together. I kept Montgomery, etc for the most part. So a deadline deal is possible for starter if team is looking good.
  14. I doubt it was one incident given how Cleveland reacted. Probably just one incident we knew about.
  15. 2020 Cleveland basically gave him away because they were furious he went out with Plesac in Chicago, where plesac got covid, lied about it, went on plane with everyone, then got caught lying about all of it. Apparently the whole locker room turned on him and led to the trade. Nut bag might not have been best insult but yes maybe not the best person to add to the miserable mix that is our locker room.
  16. Josh mcdaniels doesn’t get near enough s%*# for the disaster that the raiders are this year.
  17. What a bs move from verstappen.
  18. Apparently the refs contention is that wasn’t also pass interference?
  19. LMAO ? that’s so good and pathetic.
  20. Oh interesting so he worked his way up to being an executive in one of the most successful orgs in the league before taking over a GM role and overseeing them make an ALCS, 2 WS births and a WS 5 years after their original? Let’s pump the brakes thinking he’s good.
  21. Where was click before Houston…anywhere good?
