  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) Doubts about there offense. Pudge, Dmitri, Shelton, Carlos Guillen, Polanco, Maggs, Inge Those are all pretty darn good hitters and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else. Maggs is looking like his old self too, which will make them even better. This is the best offensive team in the AL Central and one of the best in baseball. I've said that since day 1 too and they will prove just that. I think overall I'd take the Indians offense over Detroits. Individually Detroit has one hell of an offense as you've noted but last year they couldn't get a clutch hit to save their lives.
  2. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 02:11 AM) They have played 2 games vs KC and versus Texas they hit 6 HRs off knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. The Tigers are going to be better this year, probably 3rd in the Central, but I don't see them moving ahead of the Sox or Indians. 4th.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) Saved by the Bell = greatest show ever! ^^^
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) You guys are going to be at the Great American park too. Ahh f*** and to think i was going to get away from you all Oh way to go Brian, you planned the exact same trip as Jason. :headshake
  5. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) I've heard this can be really serious, potentally career-ending if they can't get the surgery right this time. Two surgeries can do alot of damage to tissues in your elbow. Not saying I'm right about it cause I never was a pitcher so I would have to ask some guys who have had more than one surgery. I pray he can come back and dominate like he once did. I think he's done to be honest. I hope I'm wrong as the guy really is a ton of fun to watch pitch but his arm is a mess right now.
  6. Cheat is going to be crushed.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Cinny should be fun..... :puke Ay, who votes that only Steve pays for gas?
  8. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Mike Davis will be named UAB Head Basketball Coach on Friday... It's a done deal. Good for him. I hope he does well.

  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) You love it. ^^^
  12. Honestly, what the hell is the point of starting this thread? We've all had our say on this topic mostly because of you defending them. The only reason for you to start this thread is to try and create an argument.
  13. Well good news for my fantasy team as I have Baez.
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) The Catch-All MLB Thread is there for a reason, you know... Aaron deserves his own thread for every at bat.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) Fair enough, but also it could be harder in the sense that you are no longer in a zone or hot. Much, much harder.
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Who the hell are you? LOL, I knew that was coming.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) Pwned!?
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) How is it there can be posters here with thousands of posts and I don't recognize the name? Where the hell have they been posting? Which posters do you speak of?
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) Who actively worked to PREVENT drug testing... unlike Bud Selig. Bingo. Fehr and Orza are at fault for the lack of a drug testing policy for so many years.
  20. QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Let's check. I think my last post was sometime during the playoffs, and before that was sometime last April.....not that anyone, even myself, keeps track. I come back to ST because my baseball addiction is back and better than ever. Not to beat dead horses, but Ill throw in a few kicks. For starters, if you think a city being "over-soxed" or, god-forbid, becoming a "Sox town" is a BAD thing, you need your head examined. Fans=money=payroll=players. Period. I dont care if the new blood are posers, fools, bandwagoners, or just plain newbies, bring em all on. Sorry if you have to leave earlier to park, sorry if the beer lines are longer, its the spoils of war. Speaking of spoils, the team, Oz, KW, JR brought the world series home! Remember? That thing that now defines our team and our baseball lifetimes? We should all be calm as Hindu cows right now. I know I am, but my fellow Sox fans frustrate me with all of this hand-wringing. Its not living in the past, its not blind faith, its trust. Not to sound overly rah-rah, but this team is much improved. yes, it has some flaws, but tell me what you would have done differently. Yes, another bullpen arm would be nice, but I have to believe KW and Coop know more about Thornton than I do, no matter how much Baseball Prospectus I read. I would rather have BMac in the pen and Javy #5 than BMac #5 and another minor in the pen. Thome brings us lefty power and BA, while still cutting his teeth, is a good replacement for Rowand. 2005's bench had Geoff Blum and Timo Perez, 2006 has Mackowiak and Cintron. Both vast improvements and great insurance. Thats what KW did this winter. Insured. We cant predict the future, we can only project, and why is everything always so doom and gloom here? Talk to me next homestand, maybe then well have a picture. Until then, the ledge should stored in the very backs of our minds. Yes, Cleveland will be very good this year, but are they perfect? absolutely not. They are exposed to the same risks as the Sox as is every team. Its time to show some trust, show some pride, and stay the course. Let the Cubs fans worry about how were playing, Im just enjoying the ride. -ZeroHour is a lurker on the SoxTalk message board. The opinions of ZeroHour are his own pipe-dream optimism and contain generalities that should be taken with a grain of salt. If you would like to enjoy the first Chicago World Series in 88 years, ZeroHour suggests cutting back on the sports radio. Welcome back and good post.
  21. QUOTE(soxhawks @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) I just wondered what the spin on this would have been if Bonds had said it Ha, good point. I actually hate Roger more then Bonds, not sure why but Clemens has always bugged me for some reason and I do hate Barry as well.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) I fully expected more. If we lose tomorrow, this place might explode.
