  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 05:53 PM) That's id you think Irving is the best player available, which many don't. I know I certainly don't.
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) Haha, I had to turn it off after my diatribe. But I just couldn't understand his rationale that the Sox need to keep putting Pierre out since they are "all in," and needing to get their money out of their investments. If they are truly "all in," then winning is clearly the highest priority of the organization, which should thus dictate benching Pierre in favor of Viciedo. I'm impressed that you guys can actually stomach any of the post game shows at all. Between horrendous callers and Rongey toeing the company line, it's impossible to listen to imo.
  3. Just thinking out loud but it's so odd that we're 3 games under .500 yet have a bunch of guys that can make a legit claim to be allstars.
  4. Ya but Humber struck out twice and left 3 on base, that's unacceptable.
  5. Too lazy to make todays thread right now but Dayan is stupid good.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) I wonder where Paulie is staying this weekend? Holiday Inn Express for sure.
  7. The Twins are so winning this division.
  8. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) That's stupid. Miami was not supposed to be this good this year. They had no bench. Give them some vets taking MLE or less and at some point they're primed to make a push for it. What now?
  9. Old, old, old. Have a good one buddy!
  10. I made pretty simple predictions in this thread but I was right on the Bulls unfortunately. Happy I was wrong about the Heat winning it all.

    i am drunk

Partied with Dave Bolland last night. He is a small person.
  12. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) Even the opposing team said the trade worked for both teams. That's not good enough. SMH. You want to develop players, but fail to realize Beckham is a big fat bust. Morel is mediocre offensively and the last guy we ever developed in the field was Carlos Lee under a different hitting coach. The coaches are the problem. The GM got the team the horses to compete. I would actually love to hear an explanation how this trade worked out for both teams. For the record, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this thread, it's 100 percent accurate.
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) I think this maybe one of our differences as well. Baseball is a past time and for fun. I treat it a whole lot different than life. I expect a whole lot more from my kids (B's are a disappointment for grades) and from my students in the classroom as well as patients in the clinic. Baseball is a diversion from life and for fun. Ouch.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 06:59 AM) Didn't read the post. Didn't care to. Firing Ozzie Guillen isn't going to win a division; nor is firing Kenny Williams. Can we put an end to these threads for a while? I know people want Ozzie fired, but not right now; that's an end of the season thing; an end of the regime thing. Honestly, even if you put "Discuss" at the beginning of it, and then quote an article - you are the dumbass that decided to quote the article. If the White Sox don't win the division this year, all of those in favor of a new manager will get one; all of those in favor of a new GM will get one. f***, just wait. f***ing NHL just ended. s***. GM I agree with. Firing a stupid ass manager mid season could actually spark a team.
  15. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) 04 was underachieving? 08? The great 83 win season of 04? With the division we're in and the money our management has at its disposal, winning 2 whole division titles in this time frame is a massive failure. I used to be a huge KW fan and I certainly don't hate him even now but if we fail to once again make the playoffs and continue to make horrendous roster decisions then it's time to blow this thing up.
  16. I just really don't give a f*** about the 70's or 80's. Minus 05(and yes that counts for a lot but it doesn't give you a life time pass) this organization under Kenny and Ozzie has underachieved, it's that simple. The 70's and 80's don't mean a damn thing.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) 1) f***, no more hockey games to watch. Best 8 weeks of the year are over. Now what? Watch the Sox race into first in August only to blow it in September. Out of everyone, I feel like you have more important things to do now a days anyways.
  18. If the Hawks and Bulls couldn't do it at least the Heat and Canucks didn't either. Thank you Timmy T!
  19. The day I gave up on this team was literally the day they started to make their move last month, so you all are welcome. But yes, I also thought Lilli and Humber were terrible. And I think our biggest competition at this point is the Chicago White Sox. I really don't think anyone else in this division is worth a damn but Minny is always scary just cause...
  20. Thank you Dirk. Haha LeBron. That is all.
  21. Ya, his ceiling has always been that of a reliever but he's actually a guy I'd take a chance on bringing back to see if Coop can work some magic. Too similar to Matt Thornton for me to not throw out that comparison.
  22. This is seriously a HUGE series against Minny. We can pretty much finish them off with a sweep or let them right back into this damn thing if we do what we usually do against them(and yes I know they'd still be way under .500 but they'd only be a couple games behind the Sox).
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 03:47 AM) I could compare J4L to Carlos Beltran too. He's almost certainly somewhat athletic, since he's black; considering the depth to which he follows White Sox baseball (and baseball alone), I'm sure he's played the game and is better than the average person; I'm sure he's hit a ball 350 feet in the air (hell, I've hit a couple), so he's got power; I bet he runs pretty quickly too. Did I cover enough of the comparisons, or is our very own J4L a legitimate White Sox prospect too? On second thought, don't answer that. What about his arm? Does J4L get good reads off the bat in the of? These are answers I must have.
  24. QUOTE (hawkubes @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 02:32 AM) its hilarious b****in about KW trading away Gio a half decade ago when he'd be our 7th pitcher right now. OK 6th with peavy hurt. Um...we're talking about a guy who has the 6th best ERA in the AL right now. He'd be our ace.
