  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) People need to let Row go. Embrace Brian as the younger, sexier, lower batting average but better fielding Rowand. You shut your mouth. Lies and slander.
  2. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) After this week the Sox could be down for the count.... Or knowing this team they'll go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak where we get a decent cushion again.
  3. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) I know he was good last season, but if we're counting this season, he's been an average to below average pitcher 4 out of the last 5 years. How in the world is he get labeled as our ace? Even with his recent struggles he has a 4.24 era and a better than 3-1 k to bb ratio. In the American League, that's well above average.
  4. Does this surprise anyone? Mariotti is a coward, period.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) We know, we know. But honestly, nobody besides you and Tony support that BS. To now be now 17-23 on the road after we were just 17-14 on the road is fantastic, right? To now be only 1.5 games up after just being 6.5 games up is fine, right? To not be able to open a local newspaper, flip on a local sports news station, or even ESPN itself is good, right? To hear it from a bunch of yuppy-f***s is fine, right? Sweet. It's OK guys. We're fine. As long as we're in first, it's cool. Even if we lose 10 in a row with an 11 game lead is fine, too, right? Please, they're far from the only 2 who believe that. This team certainly has issues but if you're biggest problem is that ESPN is going to bash our team then you need to stop following sports. Who gives a s*** what the morons from ESPN or the local radio stations think?

    QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) The Love Guru is getting raped and trashed. Supporting my thought that Mike Meyers is not that funny. I love the Austin Powers trilogy but god does the Love Guru look like complete garbage.
  7. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) Javy Grossman. We never know who we're gonna get out there with him....same with the offense though I guess. Javy and JC are struggling right now. I'm not very confident in Contreras but I'll bet that Javy finishes with an era under 4 this year. He's had 4 below average starts in a row now but none of them were horrible, it's not like he got absolutely crushed. He'll be fine
  8. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) We flat out got our asses kicked. Period. Exactly. The Cubs were just better this weekend. Hopefully our guys can forget about this series and we can get it going again in LA. Minny is on a roll so we got to start winning some games again.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) To quote Major League: "who gives a s***, it's gone" Agreed.
  10. That's just an odd start from Broadway there.
  11. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) This team will be dead and buried by the All Star Break PS. had it not been for a fly ball that Gardy Sizemore lost in the sun In KC, they might have blown the lead in 05. No. That 05 team was just better than everyone, so no again.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 05:41 PM) Worst case scenario is if Tigers are 5 back after tonight. Everyone keeps saying that if the Sox get swept tonight, this will be the series everyone talks about. However, it was the series last week at Detroit which could have turned the Tigers season around. Until they go into another slump cause their pitching sucks it.
  13. Me: "This guy isn't very good, as you can tell by the .199 career batting average." Wise homers Roommate: "Ya, he sucks."
  14. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) It wasn't called, though, was it? Wasn't there an appeal? It wasn't called, it definitely looked like a strike to me though. That being said, there is absolutely no way he swung.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:03 PM) Then if you want an argument that makes sense, what about sending Dotel in there? I love Ozzie...but I doubt there is another manager in baseball who would sacrifice his cruising pitcher through 85 pitches with a player hitting .200(Don't even bother bringing up that he got a hit, well besides the point). I could see why people would want to keep Danks in there but are you really going to argue about throwing Dotel-Liney-Jenks(at least that's what Ozzie had in mind) out there? Those three have been absolutely lights out while Danks has barely pitched into the 7th inning this season. Ozzie had confident in the best bullpen in the league and they had a bad day, that crap is just going to happen at times unfortunately.
  16. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) Why do you care? The thread is labeled "White Sox Loser" for crying out loud, you should know before entering its gonna be full of a bunch of people arguing on the reasons why we lost the game. Because its a Cubs/Sox series and both rivals hate each other from a baseball point of view I am going to be pissed about losing to the scrubs and will bicker. If it was any other team I could care less if we lost since this is really our only intense rivalry. I care cause your argument doesn't make sense. Your saying Linebrink shouldn't pitch in the 9th cause he's not used to it? Then why would a closer pitch in a tie ball game, isn't he supposed to close games? If Jenks was that much better than Linebrink then I could see your point, but Scott has been our best pitcher this year, it's not like we threw Russel out there.
  17. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 05:16 PM) Linebrink isn't a f***ing 9th inning pitcher, thats what I meant by atmosphere....bro, he hardly ever comes into the 9th inning to pitch including his entire career. Lets see....who did the Cubs bring in during the ninth inning to pitch? Gee....I believe their closer, perfect situation, and I've watched enough baseball in my life and teams typically bring their closer into the game in the 9th to keep the game going into extras or in the Cubs scenario keep the game tied. Now, were trying to hold them at 3 runs to go into extras, Jenks should be in with the game on the line. This really shouldn't be argued. Linebrink has been our best pitcher this year, why wouldn't he be in the game? It might not be his job to pitch in the 9th but it's also not Bobby's to be in during a tie ball game. You guys are just finding things to b**** about right now. The bullpen had an off night, it happens, get over it.
  18. Offense was garbage and the bullpen just had a bad day. Oh well, go get 'em tomorrow.
  19. QUOTE (Cowch @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) Rain delay? Looks like it's pouring there.
  20. Just excited to see a game again, it's been a while. I'm going to be watching this whole series with a lot of Cub fans, so this could get interesting. GO SOX
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Going to New Busch Stadium in July for first time. Anyone been? Curious about parking situation. When are you going? Cause I'm going on the 5th.
  22. Rowand44 replied to Heads22's topic in SLaM
    f*** yo dice.
  23. QUOTE (Fotop @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:45 PM) Time to float a crazy idea....ichiro? (not sure if this one's been mentioned yet) Think he's virtually untouchable due to the marketability he provides for the Marniers, but if they wanted to REALLY blow that team up and start over you'd think his name would be mentioned, right? He'd warrant a King's Ransom, but he'd certainly be worth it. /endpipedream Unless Ichiro actually does become available(which I doubt), I'm perfectly happy going with what we have.
  24. 48 k's in 33 innings for Dotel. Jesus.
  25. Well that didn't take long.
