I refuse to believe that A-row wasnt juicing at some point. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) I just more wanted to profess my love for drink specials. I thought they were getting a bad name, so I felt that if i defended their honor maybe they would go home with me. Remember to wrap it up. I've been down to little 5 in response to the above comments. I stayed at my fraternity house on campus and it was hell of a good time. Back in those days sleeping on the floor in a filthy house was considered heaven, and it certainly was.

2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread

Good, I hope young players keep coming back, it will at least make the talent level grow in college bball. PLayers take large jumps in their first few years in school. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 04:13 AM) Before this season I would have taken CP3 over Rose for sure. But CP3 has got big time issues with his knees, and we all have seen what happens to a PG when you lose your quickness and can't beat anyone off the dribble (Agent Zero). Right now I'd probably just lean towards Rose, although I think CP3 is a better "pure" point guard. What is a "pure" PG? I find it hard for anyone to argue that there is a better player that Rose at the PG position, period. Pure or impure (whatever the hell that means), there isnt another PG you would take over him if you were starting a team.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 11:21 AM) Yeah, I hear you, everything is distorted now. All the milestones for points and everything don't mean crap, as there are now 3 point games. You can't compare point totals for the length of a franchise anymore. I don't mind the point for the SOL, because if you lose a skills competition after 65 minutes you should get a point) but they need to make regulation wins worth more than an OT (or at least a shootout) win. Hawks do have a shot, it's just not the same Nucks/Hawks matchup as the past two seasons. In those matchups we were the favorite or even, in this one we are the clear dog, that's all. Let's just get this started and hopefully win one of the first two in Vancouver and go from there. We split the head to head this season, and its was very close, even in losses the Hawks outplayed and outshot the Nucks. The Hawks offense is just about the same as Vancouver's, its defense that will determine this one. I dont think the Hawks are as bad as their record indicates, and even still, they basically won what, 8 less games? Not too bad considering the injuries and how s***ty their luck was for long stretches.

We are going to lose about 50+ more of these. Better to not overanalyze each one, especially this early.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) $150 was somewhat hyperbole, although there have been plenty of times Ive spent that much. For $20 you can drink all you can drink at many places. You immediately have to add $10 for tips, thus my $30 as the minimum. Now for all you can drink we are normally getting in the area of 10 drinks. Lets say that we are at a normal bar, that would be around $50 if we are drinking low end beer or well drinks. Now you once again have to add at least $10 for tips. So sure, was I using hyperbole to say $150 versus $30. But even at what i would consider to be the cheapest bars, Im still at minimum spending $50-$60 and that is not including food, which these specials include (maybe not classy food, but a meal is a meal). So add on another $10+ tip for food. Once again, I was being sarcastic about the $150. but I guess even the most chill atmosphere isnt worth 2x the price of admission. Ive been to bars from Uptown to River North to the West Side. I wont even get into the West Side because thats an additional $20 or more on cabs. My point was more about the attitude saying that drink specials are for college kids only. Drink specials are for anyone who enjoys getting drunk and not having to pay through the nose. Whether you think $50 is a lot (some people dont) or $150, I prefer to spend less. I do plenty of drink specials. It wasnt a dig at that or anything. That whole stretch of Lincoln is aimed at a younger crowd, which is about when I used to go up there. I probably spent my entire 18-22 lifetime rocking up and down that stretch of lincoln as well as over to clark street. I find its a bit annoying the older you get, not because of the specials, because of having to deal with an age group that generally acts a different way than I do. In no way is that a negative, I used to kill it up there, and it was awesome.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 09:33 AM) Kendalls on Friday's has a special where you pay 10 bucks from 6-9 for unlimited beer, wings and pizza, I don't care how old you are, you can't beat that deal. I'm familiar with those, I used to take advantage of it when i was in college, which is who its aimed at.

It would be nice to oust the most annoying fan base in professional hockey once again. They are already talking about traveling here and needing guns and knives to walk anywhere in the city.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 03:31 AM) A) My good friend lives directly across the street from the Crossing and I know one of the DJs. In fact you've probably hit on someone from my high school there. B ) It's a Kansas bar. C) Not a fan of that place. Mediocre at best. You should go to Kelsey's or Kendall's on Lincoln. Yes, if you are between the ages of 18-21, Kendalls and Kelsey's are good choices. Otherwise, that entire stretch of Lincoln is not for you.

Stuck in detroit with no tickets to the game and nothing on tv, including the wings game. It's on in the bar, but it's filled with blacked out tigers fans. -
s*** I got a shout out? Nice. Anyway, hell of a lot of articles dissing Rondo out there today.

Celtics were frustrated. Tried to get more physical and it didn't work.

QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) The Sox with Peavy healthy could actually have the best starters in the AL to go with the worst bullpen in the AL. None of them have shown me much. And Guillen will wear Matt out. It's game 4 -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 05:53 PM) What exactly is his talent? Not going to play SG or SF in the NBA with no jump shot and a terrible attitude. Yeah, I think he proved that he isn't an NBA talent, at least not any time soon. He isn't even one of the top freshman in the Big Ten, let alone a top player in his conference or in the country. He has d-league or Europe written all over him. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 07:57 AM) Way to embarass yourself Butler. I don't even remember the last time I saw a team shoot under 20% in a regular season game, let alone the championship. Thank god I chose not to watch the game. Just reading the comments on Twitter was painful enough. I tried to watch it, really hard to do.
