Blums homer just shows how much of a team effort this whole thing has been and how much of a TEAM the white sox are -

QUOTE(daa84 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) on the sox website it said that the sox might carry one less reliever and have gload on the roster....i can see why it might make sense, especially since we could pinch run ozuna for konerko, and then use gload in the field, leaving blum to be Util. bench depth is way more important in the NL parks, but then again...the pen is used more too who do they leave off? marte? vizcaino? only real lefthanded threats in their lineup are berkman (who is way better as lefthanded hitter) and tavares. what do you guys think? description on the topic should read "one less reliever"....my apologies

QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Keith Olbermann just did a spot on his MSNBC show about the Sox reaching the World Series, and he had Dennis Deyoung (former lead singer of Styx) on as his "celebrity White Sox fan" guest. The one funny thing Deyoung said is that all these media outlets have been calling him since he's one of the few celebrity Sox fans out there. He named Mayor Daley, Richard Roper and Jesse Jackson as the only others he knows of. Oh, and he closed the interview by saying "Domo Eregato Mr. Roboto"... what a shmo. PS - For you young guys, that is a line from a Styx song (a really bad one). :-) i believe hes a graduate of lyons township

For those of you who are lucky enough to be attending these games, I hope you enjoy yourself (unfortunately i can't get out of Nashville to make it to the games), but I also hope you use your head and don't boo marte should ozzie be dumb enough to use him in a crucial situation. yes, the decision may be bad, but you have to realize that the crowd support in this type of situation really does make an impact. while i realize it didnt work for graffanino, that is the type of oviation i would hope marte would get if he comes into the game. Who knows, maybe itll help him get back to what he was 2 years ago, but please, be smart and don't boo.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Our Starters >>> Their Starters IMHO almost unquestionably, especially with colon down and lackey having pitched yesterday

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) These teams are really mirror images of each other, just look at the leadoff hitters and it's amazing how close those guys numbers are to each others. That all being said I wouldn't trade our pitching staff for their's. This is going to be a great, great series. No doubt in my mind. our starters cant let us fall too far behind. if we are down 3 after 5 or 6 innings, their bullpen is sick. escobar/shields/krod is dynamite on righties. keep em close, get the early lead. For count especially hes gotta keep chone of the bases. Dont let vladdy beat you

im not even joking, if we are winning by a large amount in game 1 i want to see bobby buzz the tower on ortiz. im not sayin hit him, but this guy leans out over the plate on pitches outside and likes to yank em. the key to beating him is dont let him get relaxed, keep his feet moving. a little chin music to set a tone

QUOTE(~~HighHeat45~~ @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Here is mine. I just tried to get a picture of all the players on the team this year. There are a bunch of guy that i left off because they didnt do much like Baj, Borch, Walker etc. Updated: http://media.putfile.com/Sox-Video-2005 nice job, the politte pic is from last year tho when eh walked the run in in detroit.....that jenks picture when he pumps his fists gets me every time...love that s***

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) We need to play White Sox baseball. That's all it will take. Good pitching, good defense, aggressive baserunning. If the White Sox do that, they'll win the series. ^^^^^^^^^^^ what he said is just about it. do it how we have been doin it all year. we gotta ride our horses (buehrle, count, pk, pods) and they gotta ride theirs (man-ram, ortiz) I cant begin to emphasize how important it is that we have the depth at pitching taht we do. we can bring mccarthy into the game at any point and he has already proven he can shut these guys down.

ive been aboard this site for this entire season and i can honestly say that this is probably the best thing ive seen on here. thanks guys awesome job

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Timo Perez, RF Tadahito Iguchi, 2B Ross Gload, LF Paul Konerko, 1B Carl Everett, DH Aaron Rowand, CF A.J. Pierzynski, C Geoff Blum, SS Pablo Ozuna, 3B Jon Garland, RHP thats a little more respectable than yesterday.....what i find funny though is that you have rowand, AJ and everett who have all batted #3 this year, yet we bat a guy who hasnt been on the team all year at 3rd? i guess i just dont get it

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Hmmm...El Duque, Marte or Viscaino? Sounds like a battle to decide who our worst pitcher is. Personally, since I really don't have a preference, I say you get the three together for a battle of rock, paper, scissors, and whoever wins gets the roster spot. My only hope is that whoever they select between those three, none of them see much time in the playoffs. If we are gonna carry 11 pitchers, who are the 14 position players? AJ, Widge, Konerko, Iguchi, Uribe, Crede, Blum, Pods, Aaron, Dye, Everett, Timo, Pablo, are almost for sure on.......who gets the last spot??? willie as PR extraordinare? anderson? gload? ill assume willie probably
