QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) you mean you don't know, :rolly check imdb for "snakes on a plane" Holy Hell. I thought it was some kind of joke. The site says it's a Horror/Thriller/Action. I figured it had to be a comedy if it were even real at all. Wow...

GQ's most hated athlete
Milkman delivers replied to Middle Buffalo's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) Why all the heat on Curt Schilling? Am I missing something. This isn't the first I have heard about people hating him. He doesn't shut up about anything. That's why people hate him. I'm surprised Ron Artest isn't on this. And I don't watch golf, but why is Phil Mickelson hated? -

I've posted links from progressiveboink in SL&P before. It's funny stuff. -
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Herbert Perry is still a free agent and he could play some 3B, 1B, and DH! He had to walk away from baseball because he was making everyone else look bad. He remains a free agent to give hope to those who need it.

He's gone. Let it go.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) Whoa whoa whoa. Dont go calling us dumb because you changed your argument. I quoted you above saying that Crisp would be a perennial all star at the lead off position. Now are are saying that you never said that. That is effectively disproving you with your own statements. He's thrown a lot of insults out in the last few pages.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) Seemed like this belongs in the "Off-season grades" thread. This is from cbsportsline.com: Winners, losers and Royals: You don't want to be a Royal Sox are one of the winners... And this guy was pretty hard on the Cubs. Almost too hard. Didn't even mention the Pierre pickup, and I wouldn't go as far as to put them in the D-Rays ranks... What the hell? From 1999-2004, Jim Thome never played in less than 143 games.

Indians acquire Jason Michaels for Arthur Rhodes
Milkman delivers replied to SSH2005's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't know about you guys, but I think this is Detroit's division to win. But those Indians, they will be the thorn in their sides. -
Now I'll cry every time I play San Andreas.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) so if not the red sox, yankees or jays who wins the al east? i also love how the red sox rotation is suspect. usually you say that when five mediocre players are apart of it. curt schilling and josh beckett are far from mediocre, wells and wake were both above average last year, and clement, arroyo, papelbon are more options. again though, answer my original question. This is the second time I've seen you use the term "above average" while referring to David Wells. What, exactly, is above average? A mid-4's ERA? Wells' ERA was 4.45 last year. That is average, at best.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) Did Herbert Perry really have a second occupation? Would not surprise me. Was there anything he couldn't do?

OT, but I once heard that Koala bears get high from eating Eucalyptus leaves.

81 Points For Kobe
Milkman delivers replied to Tadahito Iguchi's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) If his team was just as good I'm sure he wouldn't have scored 81 points, but they'd be scary none the less. Well, I don't watch basketball, but I imagine if his team was just as good that he'd have them traded. -
Dodgers, Blue Jays interested in B. Molina
Milkman delivers replied to Balta1701's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Frankly, there arent that many catchers I would prefer over Molina. Moline batted .295 .336 with 15 hr in reduced time this year. Plus he basically shuts down the running game of the opposing team. Yes, but he has what I call somewhat of a weight problem. I think he's great and am only pointing out that it would be funny if he were to gain even more weight. -

Milkman delivers replied to Balta1701's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) I would take Molina if I was any team at this point. Hes better than just about every catcher in the NL central, why dont they go after him? Ha, reunite him with his other brother now. That'd be cool Here's something to think about, though. Imagine how much fatter and slower he'd be after sitting out a whole year. -

Benson for Julio and Maine
Milkman delivers replied to Frank the Tank 35's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't think this deserves its own thread, but Jayson Stark has an insider article called "Innings-Eaters." For a starter, a measure of success is throwing 200 innings. Remarkably, three American League teams have at least four starters capable of this feat, writes Jayson Stark. Can someone tell me who those other two teams he's referring to are? Oh, and Anna Benson might be a crazy skank, but any one of us wouldn't pass that up...if we knew she was disease free. -

Did this actually happen? Or is it still a rumor? -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) There was a newspaper article that came out a couple of years ago that listed all kinds of off the wall laws that were never changed or removed through the passage of time, and most of them were hilarious. There is some town where the newly elected mayor is supposed to recieve his choice of the towns daughters and livestock from the farmers(probably where the Simpsons got it from, anyone remember the monorail episode where Quimby and the Mayor are going over the city charter?), and some places where horse carraiges are illegal. All kinds of funny stuff. And two comely lasses of virtue true.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) I thought Steve (Daniel Craig) was the baddest character. Nothing occurying within the film seemed to phase him or shift his resolve. Just ask the Swedish girl. Ha, but Hans came off pretty cold in that exact same scene, perhaps even moreso than Steve. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) saw Munich. I liked it but was sort of disappointed with it. I thought it turned into an action movie instead of an historical movie. The Screenplay was awful. However there were some very good performances including Eric Bana and Daniel Craig. It's loosely based on actual events. It wasn't meant to be historical, as far as I know. Also saw the second Underworld tonight. I'm not a fan of that kind of movie, but it definitely still kept my attention and I'd watch it again.

Your Favorite Character From "Office Space"

Saw Munich last night. What a great movie. Hans was the baddest character of them all, followed by Carl. Anyone else agree?

I like Wille for what he did in the WS, but I hope he falls flat on his face in Boston. I would've rooted for him had he gone to Colorado.
