QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) I realize that Verlander's a machine, but 131 pitches in April can't be a good idea, right? Although, his fastball was hitting triple digits throughout that 9th inning. Verlander wouldnt be the first pitcher that Leyland destroyed. Livan Hernandez wasnt a junkballer when Leyland got a hold of him, but his arm fell off shortly thereafter

So, Treg Setty and Dantiel Daniels were denied release from their scholarships to make sure they fullfill their academic requirement. Does that just mean they have to wait a few months? http://dailyegyptian.com/2012/04/19/setty-...enied-releases/

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Wait...isn't it the case that the #3 seed in the conference is going to go to the division winner in the East (The Celtics)? Or have they re-edited this rule again? the brackets they showed last night had the Bulls playing philly, then the winner of ATL/BOS, and the Heat playing NYK, then the winner of IND/ORL

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) Also, it's a game like last night that I really miss Kurt Thomas. Laying out Wade at some point in that game would have sent a message back, but Miami became the aggressor and that was basically the game. And it was absolutely ridiculous that Wade didn't get ejected. He didn't foul Hamilton, he purposefully body checked him onto the floor. And it happened RIGHT in front of the official. Flagrant 2 "is unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent." That play was pretty much the definition of the rule. Yes, especially after James Jones got ejected. That was a pretty bushleague game by the Heat

so this "chicago street brawl" that Punk and Jericho are having. Its going to be in the parking lot, right? Do you have to have a ticket to go watch it?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) That can't happen. Bulls will play Sixers/Knicks (or long shot Bucks) and then either Boston or Atlanta. Bulls will get the Pacers in the Finals if both get there. It's interesting that both the #1 seed and the #2 seed have difficult and "easier" 1st and 2nd round matchups. In the first round the Sixers stink (easier) but the Knicks (harder) have the potential to pull off the upset. In the 2nd you'd have either Boston/Atlanta (harder) or the Pacers (easier). If the Bulls end up as the 2 seed, it will happen. Which is what Brian is saying

One thing i read about the Avengers is dont bother with 3D, the post production conversion isnt worth the extra dough. But i have also read that it is awesome, non stop action

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) Vikings to the NFC West, Rams to the NFC North? Then again, the Cowboys are in the East, with NY/PHI/WAS, which makes little geographic sense either. Yeah that makes sense to switch them. It sucks to lose a historical rival like the Vikings for a dome team that nobody cares about
-
The Vikings are out of stadium options So theoretically, if the Vikings eventually do move to LA, what happens with the NFC North? I cannot imagine they keep the Vikings in the north, so are we looking at a mass realignment?

Dwight is going to destroy that team, and then bolt.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:20 AM) Ownership hired him for this specific purpose, however, and so they should probably support him a bit more. I agree with this, but Bobby really stuck his foot in his mouth with what he said about Youk. Heck, even his mea culpa press conference was awkward when he tried to explain what he meant, it made no sense whatsoever. If you question a players dedication to the game on national tv after 7 games, you better be ready to face the music, and it did not seem like Bobby V was ready for it
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) who gives a crap about what radio personalities think? i thought you guys cared about winning. Well this discussion isnt really about what we think, these arent our managers. Bobby V needs to think about the media, because the media in Boston is a beast unto itself.

it wasnt even a damn good post. sad

QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) Close and burn Pale Hose Talk and the NBA Thread. What is wrong with you. You cannot burn the internets.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) I think there should be a whole offseason sub-forum. So each "rumor" can have it's own thread, instead of one thread full of hundreds of rumors. Eh, I think this is tried regardless, and inevitably tons of threads are created until someone complains and would rather have a trade catch all thread so they don't have to go through so many different threads. We can't win with this. There are so many rumors every year, you just have to play it by ear. Or, you can just follow mlbtr

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) The bottom line is the Marlins' Ozzie crisis is now old news, has passed through the news cycle and like Rush Limbaugh he's now fine and safe. If the Marlins win, he'll be beloved; if they lose he'll be mocked/hated or igorned/ Beloved by who? Nobody cares

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) I'm seriously not kidding. It's becoming like Godwin's law...as a Soxtalk thread approaches its 3rd page, the probability of a Joe Cowley mention approaches unity. We had the same problem with Mariotti. Could you imagine if he had a twitter account in 05? We will just wait for the Cow to embarrass himself nationally(again?) and he will go away

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Joe Cowley mentioned in fewer threads. but i dont feel banning caulfield is fair, he didnt do anything bad

what a horrible thing to know your death is coming like that, and to also know that the stubborness of your own government will deliver you to that death.
