  1. I was listening to K C Johnson the other morning, and he was saying that Beasley measured out at around 6'7" 1/2 at one of the workouts he has been to so far. There is a whole lot of 6'7" Forwards in the league

  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 05:02 AM) i was not speaking relative to win/loss record, but more towards the flawed design of our offense, as well as our hitters inability to adjust to soft-tossing lefties and crush anything that isn't a fastball arizona has a pretty well-rounded offense, they can score off the homerun and manufacture runs. this team seems to be shut-down rather easily, and has become more and more frequent despite facing teams that the rest of the league has no problems with. Arizona started off really hot, but they have really crashed to earth in the last two months( April 19-8, May 11-17, June 6-8). They also have a streaky offense, but it is due to the relative youth of the offense. Mark Reynolds (84), Justin Upton (82), and Chris Young (72) are all on pace for more than 150 strikeouts this year, yesterday on the Score they were listing home and away average and OBP and Upton and Reynolds were in the tops for home and the bottom for away. There are plenty of flaws in the Arizona's offense, we just dont have to watch it every day
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) LOL. Oh my goodness. This has been the most negative, knee-jerk, "THE SEASON'S OVER! THIS GUY SUCKS! THAT GUY SUCKS!" thread I've ever seen. More to come......
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) How's DL a 1B necessitate bringing up an outfielder. Because you remove Swisher from the OF
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) Does anyone know of a program that can take songs from an ipod, and put them on a computer? My old computer crapped out on me, and I have a new one. I'd like to put the songs from my old computer/ipod onto the new computer, without erasing them. Copypod
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Giving him the US title his first match. IC title his first night on RAW. Angle with Flair and Orton. Come on, everything he had was a one night gimmick. The best promo he had going (with his bodyguard) got ruined by his broken shoulder. His angle with Flair and Orton wasnt anything but a push for Flair towards his ultimate ending. Carlito has been a jobber since he came to WWE, and he knows it.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 12:13 PM) Welcome back to Earth, Jose. This game is getting extremely ugly extremely fast. Anyone going into chat? Sorry my friend, Im at work today. Work computers dont support javascript
  9. WTF, how many different lineups will be posted today
  10. So now that Ramirez is starting again, are we still subject to "Told you so!"?
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) Carlito sucks. They could fire him. I wouldn't care. If he hasn't gotten over consistently yet, he never will, with the pushes they gave him. What pushes were those?
  12. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) I think last night was just one of those games, right? And given what happened against a s*** Rockies pitcher, maybe the debacle in Detroit wasn't all due to the great Tigers pitching like some people here tried to argue? But people will jump down your throat when you dare suggest the Sox are "back to normal." Because, god knows, a team getting hot for a couple games is a much better indicator of their hitting ability than the previous 2 months of the season. As opposed to people jumping down your throat everytime something bad happens insisting "the sky is falling". Some of us arent all doom and gloom and like to think that there is a shot to win the division. Sorry to ruin your fun.

    Films Thread

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) So, I'm sitting here listening to my ipod, and the Ghostbusters theme comes on. And it gets me to thinking, they're making all these sequels and remakes now. Why not make a third installment of this franchise? Give it a nice little wrap up, but leave out new characters and just run with the main characters (they're all still alive). I mean, I don't want to see Shia LaBeouf as Egon's son, but I'd like another Ghostbusters movie. They have tried multiple times to make a sequel, actually two sequels filmed back to back, but Bill Murray wont cooperate, he hasnt been interested. I guess the company that owns the rights is trying the roundabout way to find out if people are still interested. A videogame is being developed right now(I believe by Xbox, either that or PS3), and a new cartoon is being developed as well. If both of those do well I bet we see a movie within the next 5 years. edit: looks like the game is going for all of the systems http://www.ghostbustersgame.com/
  15. aaaaaaand..............lets play ball!
  16. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) I haven't seen a single response on here defend Pablo Ozuna. It seems to me that you have to do so, or come up with some alternative that's better than Josh Fields as his replacement. There is a place for Josh Fields in this lineup 3-4 games a week, or as a pinch hitter for interleague road games. He'd offer something that Pablo Ozuna cannot: better hitting, much better power, better defense at 3B. My defense is that if you DFA Ozuna then you have a weak bench in regards to the middle infield. Uribe has already been on the DL once, if something were to happen again then there would be no rest for Ramirez and Cabrera. And god forbid something should happen to either of those two, then there are truly no options for the middle infield. Pablo Ozuna has too much versatility to just dump for a guy who can play 3rd and maybe 1st.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) Just say no to Lofton. Go with what we have or look elsewhere. Anderson really isn't a bad option if Swish continues to struggle. Swish has cooled off again. One for his last 12 after going 8 for 14 vs. Minn's s***ty pitchers. Isnt this what the entire team did?
  18. is it me or does it seem like every time an athlete is pulled over he is driving on a suspended license?
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) Quick 123 first inning for Roberts. I dunno, I actually prefer Alexei in the 2 hole to Anderson on these days the way they're both hitting, and I like Anderson. Rogers?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) Trying awful hard to remake this team, aren't you? Its broken. And needs to be fixed with multiple posts.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns I have a hard time believing the source, as Donaghy is a bad guy and a convicted felon. However, when you consider the series being referred to here, it's hard not to believe him. Game 6 between LA and Sacramento in 2002 was the most obvious looking fix I've ever seen in major American sports, and it's not even close to whatever game i'd put in 2nd place on that dubious list. And the other series mentioned, Dallas/Houston in 2005, had some AWFUL officiating as well. This would be easy to lie about for Donaghy as people have suspected stuff like this in the NBA since the frozen/bent envelope gave the Knicks Patrick Ewing, but the series referred to in this story were fishy looking at the time to say the least. Already convicted? I thought the case hasnt even started yet? I agree that he is a bad source, but right now he is the only source. I still remember Mike Bibby taking an Kobe elbow to the face and getting a foul called on him
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 10:19 AM) Was I jaded during the Bulls dynasty? Did he cry about refs this much back then? Am I missing something? Oh yeah he did. Thats Phils deal, he cries about the refs all the time, he did it when the Bulls had him definitely. He was called out for it repeatedly when the Hack a shaq defense came to be, because of how hypocritical it was of him to foul the other teams best player and complain about his own best player getting fouled.
  23. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 04:41 AM) I agree with your answer, but the Sox offense was a big aide to him putting together a decent game. We left 40 runners on base in the first three innings. I cannot disagree with that either
