QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 11:10 PM) I did not think I would have this reaction to Watchmen... but words cannot express how good, original (I know, adaptation), and brutally awesome Watchmen is... I was captivated. I guess if you read the graphic novel, you won't like it as much, and I will be reading it now, but God damn, that movie was great. See what happens when you tell your wife she is wrong?
  3. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) "OWENS OWENS OWENS" The thing is, I dont even want Owens(I see him for the cancer he is), but what WSB said was just flat out wrong.

i refuse to wish someone a happy birthday who promises he will do bad things to me if the Sox lose. that sentence didnt really flow very well
  6. QUOTE (TLAK @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 08:00 AM) How did you like their "Brady Bunch" take me out to the ball game opening? Glad I have a remote. the "Take me out to the ballgame" rendition by Kaspar and Brenly rocking it out is making me quite sick.
  7. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) Cowboys released Roy Williams -- too expensive? Broncos signed Chris Simms -- rather battle Jay Cutler for playing time than Kyle Orton? Springs to Pats Too injured. Too horse collar-y

The new Star trek trailer is awesome, i really want to see it now
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) Well, there ya go. Pick him up now that he's won 1. But seriously, 1 playoff game. I know I was wrong, but 1 doesn't do me any good. Plus, all this thread is doing is wasting everyone's time. There's no way Angelo goes out and gets him anyways. Seriously, information on the internet is but a click away. Educate yourself when you make these arguments so your bad points arent exposed over and over again. Taking away the Superbowl, Terrell Owens has been in 10 playoff games In all of his playoff games he has caught 43 passes for 629 yards and 5 TDs, and he has won 4 playoff games, not 1. He has caught one of the biggest passes in SF history vs the Packers from Steve Young when he was sandwiched between 3 defenders and had his bell completely rung and still held on for the TD. Terrell Owens is far from the Playoff newbie you are making him out to be. His problem lately is that he hasnt advanced or made the playoffs in the last 3 years, so people are noticing it and calling him out now(like you). This thread isnt a waste of everyones time, it was about TO being released
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 12:54 PM) I'm always amazed at the stories of some of my friends who work for a small business, or even medium sized ones, that have trouble with payroll even when the company is doing good business Small businesses never seem to spend the money for the accounting that they need. My wife's place of employment(which I am withholding) is no different, they have had a few problems in that department since she has worked there.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) Are you kidding me...of course I'd love him on the Bears. I still prefer Holt though and I'd give up a lot to get him. Bring him in for a 3rd rounder, give him a 3 year contract. He was released, no compensation necassary

QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) I wasn't expecting much because I had read and heard that Kurt was kind of, not mailing it in, but focusing on lesser-known songs (which was fine by me) and playing mellower stuff (which wasn't, really), but they were ON that night. They even played "Smells Like Teen Spirit", which was becoming kind of a rare thing by that point. I wanted to hear it, since I liked that song a lot - it hasn't aged well, though, in my opinion. Sounds kind of dated by now. They were really, really good that night, though, and I was glad I saw them. This sounds almost exactly like what he told me. Who were they with that night? Wasnt it something like Alice n Chains?
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) I honesly dont know what to say when I see a comparison of Anthony Thomas and Matt Forte. They couldnt be more different of RB's. I think the point is that you cant judge after the first year, and trading a RB like Forte shouldnt be mission impossible because of his first year numbers. Everyone thought A-Train was awesome after his first year and he has flopped hardcore

QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 10:50 AM) I saw Nirvana in 1993 at the Aragon and they were really great. I passed on seeing them at the Metro in 1990, but my wife and I had just met and I chose to go up to Wisconsin and see her. Still the right move, 19 years later. My best friend was at that show, he still raves about it.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) Terrell Owens hasn't been on the field for a playoff win by his team since January of 2003 (remember, he didn't play in any of those Eagles playoff wins that got them to the Super Bowl). To quote a wise man, he's 35 years old and he's not going to get a whole hell of a lot better. He's still put up some numbers recently, but it's pretty clear he's on the downside of his career. And none of that includes the fact he's one of the biggest, most toxic locker room cancers in recent memory. I would say no thanks to this guy, especially if I were a team like the Bears with no quarterback to speak of because he'd lose his mind (if not what is left of his game) pretty quickly. Great decision by the Cowboys to get rid of him. I agree with everything you said but the bolded part, mostly because even on his 35 year old legs he is better than 90 percent of the WRs in the NFL
  16. From the suntimes, Soriano's opinion of the Crosstown Classic Go f*** yourself Adolpho, I dont see the same player in the playoffs that I see in the regular season
  17. QUOTE (Texsox @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 08:38 AM) Locally I heard it was a bigger cap hit. I just read on ESPN that it was 9 mil, not 680,000 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3953647 .
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) You would trade Forte and potentially a first day pick for Jay Cutler? Alex Mack in round 1, or Eric Wood/Max Unger in round 2? It was more of a "Who is going to replace a multiple time probowler and 11 year anchor of a amazing line" question then a "who will the vikings draft" question
  19. Matt Birk to the Ravens. I wonder who fills his spot on that Vikings O-Line?

    Spinal Tap on tour. Sweet
  21. Nice effort by the Bulls so far, they look pathetic off the tip.
  22. Flight of the Conchords, no doubt for me. Just to hang out with Jemaine for a day
  23. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) I know in these economic times I shouldnt complain about my job cause I should be thankful......but what the f***?! This place is a f***ing circus today and now Iam crying as I am typing. hohum LOL, its like there is a magnet between I and A for you.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) That might be a really bad sign for that company. I thought the same thing, but not so. Apparently the companies accountant wasnt doing her job correctly, and as a result no longer has a job.
