  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) So that's "Rosie's" real name, huh? The Donald and Rosie
  2. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) i liked the first four. Siamese dream is real good. I think I am one of the few that really likes both Machina albums. I like how The Corgan Experience™ did something different in each album, and drifted into a more electronic sound. And he really knows how to build an album. The only problem I have with Corgan is his arrogance, but most of it is due to his talent with music. I think the reformation of the Pumpkins will be fun, but I doubt it will last too long. Kind of like when Janes Addiction reformed then broke up after making an album.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) If Eli Manning's name was Eli Floyd, would the Giants be considering hitting the FA market for a backup QB this offseason? Or thinking about using a draft pick on a QB? If Eli Mannings name was Eli Floyd, would Philip Rivers be the quarterback of the Giants right now?
  4. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) Are you f***ing serious? And what the hell do graphics matter anyway? GAMEPLAY > graphics Windwaker even has better graphics than Twilight Princess, which, in my opinion, aside from Majora's Mask, is the worst game of the series. I agree, I thought the cell shading graphics were an interesting change for the series. The strange thing is that they come off as being paper cut out graphics, but the more you play it the better they seem. Hard to explain, thats just how I felt when i was playing the game.
  5. I just got to the point where I loathed anything on the radio anymore and didnt feel like setting my Ipod playlist all the time, so I started listening to sports radio. For one thing, it really has changed the way I think about sports, I try and look at the whole picture as opposed to my own viewpoint and opinion. On the other hand, some hosts and some people who call in are such wafflers and knee jerk reactionists that I get angry just listening to them talk. Boers and Bernstein are definitely devils advocates and pessimists, its the way they run their show, you should know this when you listen. The longer you listen to them, the funnier they are because like hammerhead said, they are an acquired taste. I still dont get the "Love your show, Love your suit, Lovie Smith" introduction with callers, but I think it is funny that they get their audience to participate like that, much in the same way that Dan Patrick used to greet callers who said "Hi Dan" by quickly finishing with "-Na Kournikova" (get it, Danna Kournikova? Get it? Get it? ) Mostly I listen to Sports talk because of the speed that information travels nowadays. You usually find out about trades, injuries, situations about 1 hour before it is confirmed online, and I love hearing something and seeing a posted conversation spring up about it. There is something about the initial doubt in the story, followed by the formation of opinions, and changed into headbutting after a story breaks that I just love. Boers and Bernstein seem to fall into a good time slot where things happen, news breaks, and they are usually very good about drawing lines and involving the callers in the arguments. Sure, they hang up on people they percieve as idiots, but there is hardly a radio host with that power that wont do that sort of thing, they arent different than anyone else.
  6. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jan 6, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) A precursor to this will be what Carlos Zambrano gets next offseason as I beleive he is a FA. He will be 26. Is there anyone that can be compared to him recently for his age. He can blow out his arm next year and get a Zito contract. Wanna win the WS every year. Sign he and Santana. Your bullpen gets a rest two of every five starts. Yeahhhh..No. If Zambrano blew out his arm next year, he wouldnt be getting Zito money. And if anyone would be able to afford Zambrano AND Santana, they wouldnt have much money to put elsewhere.
  7. Laurie Laughlin is hotter now than she was when she first appeared on Full House, definitely a crush of mine. What qualifies as a strange crush though? Someone you wouldnt normally say was a girl everyone would crush on?

    The Office

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) kyyle, Pam is the receptionist. Jan is Michael's boss. And I don't think she knew about the email. I have no idea why I typed that. I should stop trying to watch TV at the same time as posting
  9. I love listening to that show. My lunch break is at 2:30-3:30 at work, and over the fall I would go out to my car and eat my lunch and listen to the show. The only thing i hated was the commercial time from 2:30-3:00. They talk until 2:40, come back on the air at 2:45, for three minutes or less, and back to commercials with Bernstein doing a live commercial around 2:55, commercials until 3:01. I had it timed because it p*ssed me off so bad. But they talk all through 3-3:30, its their interview time.

Did Jan know about the emailed picture? Because I dont really think she had any idea about that picture, and they didnt talk about it.

    The Office

"Im not supposed to say anything, but I did see Jan. I saw her at night......and in the morning.........We had sex." The grin on his face was priceless.
  12. Im with you guys on the lists. Ocarina of Time Windwaker The Legend Of Zelda (the original never gets old for me) im reserving a space for Twilight I loved Windwaker, I thought it was a nice breath of air into the series, and they needed a little changeup in the storyline and idea of the storyline. In the end, it ended up being the same, but at least it was told differently.
  13. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) Good to see that things haven't changed much around here. No contributions from that juggernaut clown? That's a bit surprising, unless he's been banished or took his all-knowing box of crap elsewhere. Juggs has been gone for quite some time. Havent you noticed the lack of ID discussions? His spirit lives on in Filibuster discussion though
  14. It is strange how great their front office is with drafting, trading, and developing minor leaguers, and how awful the free agents they pick up are.
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) The Van Dam / Lashley one was a work because for some reason, the creative team showed sanity and didn't job out RVD to Lashley and they weren't going to take the belt off of Lashley that fast. As for the Mahoney one, he looked legit hurt when he got nailed. Haven't heard anything more about his injury though, so perhaps (and hopefully) he'll work through it. Viva el Chair Swinging Freak! Yeah, that was quite a shot. Vampire-guy didnt pull his punch on that one at all. Balls went down and immediately crossed his chest, and the ref made the quickest 3 count I have seen since the NWO was running the WCW
  16. I dont know if anyone watched ECW last night, but I think that Kevin Vampire guy hurt Balls Mahoney in the match. It ended really abruptly and Balls was making the X sign on his chest after he got nailed with a forearm shiver across the jaw/collarbone. The end of the RVD/Lashley match had them both crying injury too, but I think that was on purpose.
  17. You know what was the worst thing about the Cena/KFed match? It wasnt a conclusion. This crap is going to continue on, and that POS is going to get more facetime
  18. i hate you all for telling me this and making me envious
  19. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 2, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) Two things since I'm just back from vacation and didn't want to read through 9 pages. 1) Getting John Danks hopefully will help us get Jordan out of Texas after 2008. We drafted him but he chose to go to Texas instead. Not sure if we retain his rights or not, but if John likes the org, than maybe we can get Jordan to sign as well. He's a hell of a hitter, although I don't know how good of a fielder he is, since he DH'd a good part of last year as a freshman.2) Putting McCarthy in Texas isn't going to make it easier for him to succeed. That's one hell of a hitters park. That is all assuming that Jordan will be available for the White Sox to draft again. His family already stated how much they appreciated the White Sox organization when he decided not to sign,I dont think that is an issue

    Dear RockRaines

Dear Dan PMs are a wonderful thing
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) You're saying that we shouldn't use the vaccine because it may mutate at a later point? No, Im not saying that. Im just wondering about the possibilities of such a vaccine. If you are trying to nail everything with one shot, and the vaccine mutates past that, where do you go from there? Im not a micro-biologist(if thats even the right field, ha), so I dont know how these things work. But I do know that viruses(viri?) have been around for a long time and they have a knack for surviving and doing their thing. And, I have watched more than one science fiction movie/show about worldwide viruses that have mutated into something we couldnt cure.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 10:21 AM) If you read the article, the mutation issue is addressed. LOL, I read everything but the paragraph about the mutation, i should know better They say the M2 protein has "barely" changed in the past 100 years, but that doesnt mean it will not change. If it does mutate though, wouldnt that put the scientists back to square one, considering this virus would be mutating to get past everything we threw at it? Kind of a scary thought
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) Every pitcher is a huge risk long term. The White Sox were prepared to go a lot of years for Alex Fernandez, but luckily didn't get the chance. They liked the fact he was young and had impeccible mechanics. He blows his arm out a couple years later. I can't see the White Sox ever offering more than 4 years for any pitcher, except maybe they would go to 5 for Santana. Other teams would go to 7 or 8 though. Wasnt it at the end of the very next year with the Marlins? IIRC, he started off the year unstoppable for the Marlins, but didnt get to pitch in the World Series or Playoffs because he was already shelved, and never really recovered.
  24. Wont a virus mutate to survive a vaccine? I dont believe there is ever going to be a true end-all be-all vaccine, a virus is a tough little bugger(no pun intended )
  25. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 03:36 AM) Who really does that, though? It's well-known that he's not only cheated on his wife, but had a really bad gambling problem. To the point it had been linked to his father's death (although there hasn't been a shred of proof that his gambling played a role). Wow, I never heard that before. I never really thought about it, because the two guys that were caught were basically kids(idiot kids at that, you cant flash your world championship Bulls ring around without drawing attention to how you got it). I would tend to believe that his dad was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His gambling problem doesnt necassarily make him a bad person in my eyes, just an addictive personality. Its a problem he has, but he can afford his problem.
