  1. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) Dye didn't help him get out of that ugly inning either... No, Dye's throw to home directly led to that inning being blown open. If Rios hadnt advanced to 2nd base on the throw, the next ball put into play was a tailor made double play ground ball. Vazquez was definitely hurt by Dye's throw.

    QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) i fell asleep during the hills have eyes more like passed out but still because of the movie? Or because of some other reason?
  3. Its time to bring the whoopin stick outta the closet.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 08:47 AM) Yes it is..but every angle at each park is different. The only time the camera was directly in CF was a few seasons back when ESPN tried it. Everyone complained about that camera too, IIRC. I really dont see a difference in what we have now as opposed to the angle before. I remember when ESPN tried the straight shot centerfield angle, now that really made the umps look bad.
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) ^^^ Going to school in the 80's and early 90's the teachers were mostly still old bags left over from the stone age. exactly. It was either guys in their 40's, or women who were set to retire one year after I was outta there. My first hot teacher was in college. I had a few TA's in psychology and mass media that were smokin hot. By that time, I was legal!
  6. Isnt the camera always un-centered towards left field?
  7. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) What is with all of these teachers trying to bang their students? I never remember anything of the sort when I was in school. meh, I never had any teachers worth the thought.
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I'm surprised that there isn't a www.HeaveTheSingleton.com site up yet. raise your hand if you checked it just in case
  9. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) it was! oops, i've been using that as my religion. Ha, there was a guy in Carbondale who used to ride around on his bike all over town and put up flyers for his galactic picnic in the public park where you were invited to bring your own food. And towels. If you went(So im told), he would go into his belief of HGttG. One of the whackies that roams C'dale streets.
  10. QUOTE(sti3 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) EAT s*** WHITE SOX!!!!!!!! OOOPS I MEAN BLUE JAYS!!!!!!! QUOTE(sti3 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) /me rips several juicy farts in succession. Oh, you were talking to the WHITE SOX! Lay off the drugs on gamedays.
  11. I actually liked Hawk a whole bunch when I first started watching games(around 1990, when I really became interested in baseball), because I was a sponge for everything baseball and in reality Hawk does tell you many different things about baseball. My problem now is that I already know his schtick, so it just becomes boring to me. I really dont mind him calling a game, and sometimes he gets annoying and full of himself, but he really is a fan of the White Sox. I appreciate that from him, because he really respects the organization(sometimes to the point that we all think he throws too many bouqets, so to speak) and the White Sox need a blowhard like him to defend them at every concievable angle. Every team has an outspoken apologist, and most of the time its an announcer. The Cubs have Santo, the Angels have Hudler, the Yankees and Red Sox have ESPN, the White Sox have Hawk. I dont really mind it. Its funny to me that the guy from Wheaton would expend SO much energy for such a lame concept and idea. And Website.
  12. That looks like something out of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy." Except HGttG was written in jest.
  13. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 11:54 AM) TNA is absoloute crap All it is, is WWE/Out of Wrestling castaways... STINGS BACK!!! WHOA SCOTT STEINER!!! NO NOT JEFF JARRETT!!!!!!!! Point in case, WWE doesnt re sign Christian.. he becomes TNA World Champion like 2 weeks after he is out of WWE.. Yes, the same Christian who was jobbing in WWE is now the TNA Champion.. That should be enough right there. The WWE will continue to pump out young talent to replace people they dont want.. BUT, I hope they see that letting Orton go would be a mistake, hes my favorite wrestler and I dont want to see him on TNA. I agree, I dont like TNA either. But what I am trying to say is that I think Vince has WCW in the back of his mind, and he doesnt want another situation where Hogan wins the belt and crosses over the next week. What is happening with TNA is very similar to how WCW rose up. It started with a few nobodies and jobbers crossing over and making a name for themselves, the veterans made a huge crossover, then the writers started jumping ship as well. If Vince starts letting his possibly great wrestlers like Orton go, he knows they are going to have to find work somewhere. TNA is the most visible promotion going besides WWE right now, it would only make sense that he would go there or cross over to Japan. Im not saying that the quality of TNA is anywhere near WWE, but the startup is there for TNA and all they would need is another gang of WWE stars to jump ship and they could be off and running. BTW, I cannot stand Jarrett, and while it is sort of bad that Christian won it all in 2 weeks, I always liked Christian and never thought he got a fair shake. I miss Sting, but I wont tune in to TNA to watch him.
  14. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:00 AM) Ok...maybe its not the funniest joke in the history of the world... I tried to use limited satire to make the point that North and Murphy are really bad sports radio hosts... pssst, I think he is just mad that he didnt get the joke and I had to explain it to him
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) Well, most recently he was charged with Disorderly Intoxication in January which was later dropped because he performed a couple hours of community service. This was related to alcohol consumption but hey he could very well enjoy the powder as well. Back when this website was known as "Griffey-talk", there was a reds fan who was hanging around giving us updates from their end. I dont remember his name, but he alluded to Freel having some off the field problems, and I PMed him about it and he replied "Freel likes the nose candy. He has been busted a few times.". Thats all I really know, so TIFWIW, which isnt too much
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) Remote start. elitist
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) Freel has serious baggage though, he's probably a better player than Podsednik but he couldn't make it through a year here without picking up a few DUI's. hmm, I heard that Freels problems were more coke-related than alcohol related.
  18. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) . Last year when he pouted through the American League playoffs was just another example of his huge ego. How did Hawk pout through the playoffs? He said he didnt want to be involved, probably because he was superstitious. What did he have to be pouting about?
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) I refuse to get excited over this outing. Ask any mariner fan and they will tell you thornton has the ability to make hitters look foolish as hell for one, two, maybe even three innings... while hammering the zone. Little bit downt he road he will suddenly lose control and implode for a four spot... and those three scoreless innings he just threw go for naught. We likely won't know if cooper is actually a god or not (everyone here seems to think so) until around the all star break. Sounds exactly like Damaso Marte.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:12 AM) The poll had nothing to do with the decision. In general, I am usually the Patron Saint of Lost Causes. There is always healthy discussions with several differing opinions before any action is taken. It is probably as fair a shake as anyone could ever hope to get in real life. Well now I know who to PM when I am in hot water I know Juggs got his fair shake. It wasnt anyones fault but his own that he chose to present his faith in a questioning manner so he could cause an argument that he would never lose. Its a shame that his intelligence is wasted in such a close-minded manner, but he used to fire up even the mildest of posters with his condescending threads. And then in the palehose threads he would pull stats and arguments out of nowhere that would make me say "Holy s***! I didnt know that!". Its too bad he couldnt be just a fan.
  21. No Baptism for TomKat.
  22. Wow, Cena has never come off as that kind of prima donna to me.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) What are you talking about? LOL, its a joke. Read it in green
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) Also known as suicide. LOL
