QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) Netflix update: Watched AP Naked Mile, much funnier than Beta House. Isnt that like saying "Zooey 101 is so much better than Drake and Josh" (This will probably only be funny to parents of 5-10 year old daughters like myself" )
  2. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) I was confident after Rivers and LT went down bc i believe if NIU alum Michael Turner... hell, i even belive in Billy Volek. On paper those are probably the two best backups in the game. but still... thats two big losses and to beat indy on the road was a defining game for the chargers. assuming they get LT and Rivers back... an upset is brewing in foxboro. book it. this sounds similar to
  3. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) Yeah, if you're 10 years old. Seriously. Steve, i could care less what you think of the game, I happen to like it.

I dont mind all of this marketing deception though. At least it creates a buzz about the movie and makes me interested in it, as opposed to knowing the entire plot and what the bad guy looks like before I walk in the theater. And watching internet guys break down the 5 milliseconds of the trailer where the monster destroys a building in the background is pretty cool too, there are a lot of different ideas based on a small smoky frame between buildings
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 09:27 AM) im sure playing on turf will enhance his chances of staying healthy meh, it seems as if Rolen could play on down feathers and he would injure his shoulder. Oh well, thats the Blue Jays problem now.
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 08:27 AM) As kyyle can also back me on, Playground on the Wii is also insanely fun. Word of warning though, tetherball is probably the most physically exhausting game on the Wii. My arm still hurts two days later. I dont think I have enjoyed paper airplane flying, track car racing, dodgeball, tetherball, wallyball and kicks this much since I was 6. And the game makes you want to be a kid

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) The Ain't It Cool News guy Harry Knowles really liked the early screening he saw. A lot. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/35236 Harry kept talking about making a Godzilla movie, interesting

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) Would you care to know some of the info that I know? Yes, I do want to know some of this info. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) I really thought for some reason that it was going to be a fake monster, like something someone was imagining or something. But i've seen a picture of the "monster" from the movie, so who knows. where is the picture? url? This guy thinks that the creature will be the same as the american version of Godzilla(godawful movie with Matthew Broderick), only not called Godzilla.
  9. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) I know this idea looks very bleak with Benson, but the Bears should really look into Julius Jones to be a Chicago Bear. He's a Free Agent after this postseason and after Barber got the start this week He was very mad with the decision. We have had his brother so why not get him heh. Seriously though, He will be 27 going into the season next year and I think he is a great back. For having to share his carries with Barber, He has excelled particularly with his 1000 yard year last season. In 2005 with only 13 games played, with 257 attempts, rushed for 993. In 2006 16 games played, 10 more attempts with 267, rushed for 1084(and this was the first year with Barber). Now this season it has been a complete favor over Barber getting probably, and this is a guess probably 60-62% of most plays. Basically what I am saying is I gave Benson a chance last season to shine with no TJ here, but he did not take advantage of his opportunities and decided to be a mope. Benson signed a 5 year 35 mil contact in 05, but the contract total is obviously a lot more and I think the backend of the deal is loaded more so I see getting rid of him will be hard. Angelo said he will have to fight for his job this year so lets bring in Jones let him battle with Benson then pull a Jack Del Rio and cut Benson. In theory I would love this, but I doubt you could convince JJ to share carries with Benson the way his brother was forced to. JJ is pretty much of a clone of TJ, the offense worked at its best with TJ and Benson performing.
  10. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) ya, i love the patriot act, and the internet being regulated. can't wait to be arrested for talking about illegal activities (non terrorist) on my cell phone and over the internet. maybe there can be a pop up saying "you've been arrested". also, anyone who thinks we shouldn't pull out of Iraq immediatly, talk to (1) a current or recently former member of the military (who supports Ron much more than anyone else) ( ) and (2) go enlist to make sure we leave the "right way". I'm sure they will take you, no matter what age. I'm sure the never will be born children and grandchildren and so on of the US military members who will die before we finally leave thank you for your thoughts into why we should not leave right now. And my theory on who should be President, IF NOTHING ELSE, is that it should be the MOST EXPERIENCED (check) and MOST KNOWLEDGABLE (check) person who wants the job. Simply. Also, Alpha Dog is just trying to stir people up and refute everything just to make them mad. I do this, too. But not over the internet like a 9 year old. Just saying. return volley!
  11. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) I'd have to go with David Wells. I can say one definite... Ben Wallace is my least favorite Bulls player of all time. I reserve that for John Starks
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Great Blitz by SD and Merriman. Turnover on downs with 2:09 left but Indy has all TO's It seems like all of Indy's playoff games end up being decided on a 4th and goal.
  13. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) I would say 3 years, he would be 22, would be an extreme safe bet at the least. Especially with Rolen they will not push him to go any harder then he is, they are teaching him to switch hit right now and he very strong right handed(which is what he was first) and he is still working on his left, though they say he is looking very strong and he will learn it. He did play a lot of SS in High School so maybe he gets some time there while Rolen is still on the team because of the arm and fielding Then Rolen would be a nice "stopgap"(for lack of a better word, Rolen is more than just a stopgap), provided he could stay healthy. And that is a BIG if.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) Fixed. true, however I have to encompass southern illinois sports in that assessment as well. And nothing has been more dissapointing to me this year than SIU Mens Basketball
  15. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) oh wait I forgot about Kevin Ahrens, duh .. How far away from the majors do they project Ahrens? 1 year? 2 years?
  16. so whats the deal with Rivers? I am at work right now, so i cannot tell what happened to him or LT. Possibly season ending injuries? A little banged up?
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) What is the upside of this for Toronto? Rolen stays healthy, is productive. Do the Jays have any 3B prospects in the next 3 years that Rolen would be blocking?
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) Bulls only gave up 69 points today...in the first half. 2007-2008 has made me loathe basketball.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) To get a guy like Glaus is a STEAL by the Cardinals times ten. Rolen was never going to stay there with the bridge burned with LaRussa, and if Glaus is healthy, he could put up some really nice numbers in the NL with Pujols protecting him. Nice job by St. Louis to get something out of a really bad situation IMO. I dont know if it is a steal. Looks like to me that the Cardinals traded an unhappy, often injured 3rd baseman for a somewhat happy, often injured 3rd baseman. Its not like Rolen didnt put up huge numbers with Pujols protecting him. Plus, Glaus has that whole "had steroids shipped to my house" thing as well.
  20. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62586 i already put a pm out to a mod to merge the thread after I posted it. Dont worry, you will get full credit for breaking the story
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Not surprised. I think I'm closer to getting a date with Mandy Moore than the Cubs trading for Roberts. Dont give up your hopes Brian. Mandy is still single
  22. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) So the Cubs are still close to getting Brian Roberts? For the past 3 weeks? Bruce "bombshell" Levine said that the deal is dead because the Orioles want one of Colvin or Pie in the deal as well as Murton, Marshall and Gallagher
  23. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) That speaks very highly of his management and oversite skills. Nice cop-out answer. You know, while Mr. Paul may have some ideas that sound good, he has some that just sound nutty. And while there are many people on here that are passionate about their candidate , you two on here just sound like total kooks. There is zeal, and there is zealotry. You two fit the latter. Alpha Dog pulls the pin.....
  24. Jose Paniagua, Tony Phillips, Jim Parque(after the surgery), David Wells, Bret prinz
  25. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) I think Pie's starting to head into "can't miss who did" territory. He just isn't hitting enough to be a starting MLB outfielder. If the Cubs were smart, they'd try to package him for a reliable starter before his value drops. I agree, merely looking at the fact that Pie couldnt take the CF job from Jacque Jones last year(or at least create some playing time for himself) speaks volumes.
