  1. Look, when you have a decades long season ticket holder telling the organization to f*** off, the problem isn't if the fans are big enough fans. Most people get that.
  2. I want to see more of Smith before I judge. I want to see him go six innings to see if his stuff plays up in relief, or if he can do this for a full start. I have a bit of hope, but I am not ready to judge yet.
  3. So Jerry must think he is a perfect 10, because he ain't doing a damned thing.
  4. That whole trade was loaded with non-tenders and non-gonna happens on day one. We are down to hoping Riley Gowens overcomes the odds and gives us anything in a system where about 15 guys are ahead of him on the depth chart.
  5. Almost all of the rotation is back end guys right now. The red meat won't get here for a year or two, hopefully. That whole string of Shuster, Nastrini, Canon, Martin, Wilson, etc, are guys you hope figure it out and give you that 4.5 era over 160 innings to fill some innings over the course of seasons. Maybe a Burke has more of a mid rotation ceiling, but there just aren't those guys here yet.
  6. Even turning Vargas into a bat only something would be the nice start of salvaging that deal.
  7. It's funny, as I have gotten older, I spend less and less time on professional sports in general, and more and more on amatuer. It isn't about perfection, otherwise no one would watch athletics in general. Just like I want to see an honest effort on the field, I also want to see an honest effort off of it. Right now the White Sox are the 400 pound dude on his chat board talking about "no fattys".
  8. I obviously thought you were mocking the idea of a twitter troll being on a serious journalistic payroll.
  9. Same, and for a black and white version of the 83s.
  10. Oh you were serious? Nevermind.
  11. There it is. This is 2025, and there are plenty of things to do with my entertainment dollars and time. I will be watching more of my local HS baseball team than I will this product.
  12. When an owner refuses to wade into the deep end of the free agent market, it becomes necesary to get an extra cheap year from your players so that you can sustain success as a team longer. Granted, there aren't any real good examples of this lately under Jerry mostly because success hasn't really been around to sustain, but it works in concept.
  13. Bears would have done great with my man Braden Fiske too.
  14. That also looks like the typical Getz free agent signee recently.
  15. hahahahahahahaha, this is gold. Well done.
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6186874/2025/03/11/mlb-fans-optimism-results-rankings/?campaign=12883820&source=athletic_top_stories_email&userId=6062851
  17. The Sox were seemingly one of the last teams who emphasized slightly under max and health vs max velocity when Don Cooper was here, but that doesn't seem to be the case here now.
  18. And this chart is why everyone goes max effort. That little bit extra makes a big difference. There is no way to legislate this out of the game either.
  19. Bold of you to assume the Sox will have a stable roster.
  20. Not unless they are willing to start with Dominguez. The Yankees farm hitters are one of the few franchises that saw a worse year than the Sox one's had.
