  1. I was just reading about a team (I think SD) whose entire starting line up outside of C and SP were all former SS prospects who were moved to other positions at some point to get them into the line up.
  2. I can see the pro surgery people exloding as we speak.
  3. The chicken or the egg coming first works either way.
  4. The odds are fair that by the time the Sox could be decent again, that current ownership is no longer in the picture.
  5. Banking on the Sox?
  6. Ideally in any Cease deal you would be getting someone who has a ceiling that comes out around Cease's, a LH power prospect OF, hopefully one that can play CF, but if not one that has RF in their future, and then fill in from there. I would love to pick into some of these specific team's Latin American signings to keep the waves of prospects lined up for the next five years, and maybe find a diamond in the rough that is the type of player that isn't quite broken out, but if they go near their potential would be a player that could headline this kind of deal instead of being a #3 or #4. Would have been nice to sneak in an extra draft pick too, but pretty sure none of these three teams fall into that bucket.
  7. Are we talking about losing a draft pick? Because my interest in that is zero.
  8. But are we policing the reporters who police the reporters who police the policers?
  9. Because there are more low revenue teams in MLB than there are high ones, and they would never kick themselves in the nuts revenue-wise.
  10. Yeah, unless it is like a 5-6 player deal loaded with some of their Latin signings in the back or something. The headliners in this deal would be something not worthy of Cease.
  11. It would be an odd time to get a major deal done, but then again, you still have major free agents available and we are closing to opening day than we are pitchers and catchers reporting. If it gets done, it needs to be a home run.
  12. This is where I am. If we don't get Wolcott as a headliner, or like a 6 player deal loaded with 4 other top 10 players (non-Carter, Langford, Wolcott), I am not interested in a 3 player deal from TX.
  13. You spent an entire month mad about this post... to come back with... this? Hahahaha. Go back to bed. Your grudge is just sad.
  14. If he is already hurt he shouldn't be throwing, but sure.
  15. Lat is a whole other problem, right? IIRC it was elbow problems before, no?
  16. Just as long as we don't waste TLRs leftover stash, all good.
  17. Again, the Rangers are a pretty active international team. Wolcott being the top of that list, but I could see the Sox also having interest in Leiter and/or Rocker too if they think they can do something with them. Anthony Gutierrez is another one who is super young for his level, but could explode once he figures it out.
  18. Soxtalk, that's who.
  19. It happened to an announcer in BAL last year most recently.
  20. Especially on the network the team owns.
  21. And it was really freaking obvious things were falling apart just based on what was happening on the field over time.
  22. If he puts up a HR every 15 AB in full season ball, we will never be able to touch him again unless he is a big deal headliner.
  23. Also would tack in John Cruz as a similar guy who seems to be having a break out. He put up HUGE LH power numbers in rookie ball at 18 after being in the class of 22 for the Yankees Latin American signings.
  24. I think a guy like Brandon Mayea could be a huge bust out candidate in a year or two as well that maybe we can get today, but not in a year.
  25. If we aren't going to get Jones, it would be interesting to try to pick off some of their other and younger international players to make up some of that quantity at the back of the deal. Paddy seems to have an eye for talent, even if he doesn't have the budget.
