  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) To all the negatives out there, what was your brilliant plan of upgrading, in this dead, shallow market? KW gets critisized for making big moves, but then takes more for not making one. Exactly. I have been saying for two weeks with so few sellers and the prices so insane, our best move is to hope that someone decides to sell of at the last minute. That really didn't happen, so we made the best move by not tearing off our nose to spite our face. Making a huge move in the market would have been stupid, and this is futher supported by the fact that NO team made a major move.
  2. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Great Work! Gotta love that Geoff Blum trade. That'll put us over the top. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Trade WINDS?, more like a fart. Sounds more like trolling to me...
  3. Damn. Too bad for Torii. He is one of the most exciting defensive players I have ever seen.
  4. QUOTE(scotty22hotty @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) looks like another case of Oz playing injured players TOO EARLY Ummm if that is anyones fault it is Franks for telling the team he was healthy enough to play. Once he said he was ready and he got his ABs on the rehab assignment, Kenny and Ozzie pretty much had to put him on the roster and play him. Only one person out of all those knows how bad Franks ankle hurt, and I don't see Ozzie having any superhuman mindreading powers...
  5. Mostly because you are looking at the wrong place
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) I'm iffy about adding a countdown clock because it's one more thing to f*** up the site. I dunno, it's a possibility. Just make sure you don't let Gage do it.
  7. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) Anybody see the White Sox buying out his contract. I mean he's a good player when healthy and he puts fear into the opposing pitcher. We want him to retire with the White Sox and spend his whole career here...BUT he gets injured way too much and this injury will not go away. Here's the lead...Sorry if this has been posted http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Someone told me that Offman reported that the Sox would buyout his contract but he's not sure if the Sox will make him a new offer. There is no doubt in my mind they will buy him out. I was about 95% sure before, now it is 100% for sure.
  8. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I am in no way bashing your posts greg, I like different perspectives, but you gotta stop being so depressed. At least sometimes point out good things about this team, and not just nit picking problems...... Threads: our record against probable 1st round playoff foes Frank...how patient are you willing to be with him Isn't Joe Crede just Jose Valentin Attendance: start of something big or just a fluke Shades of 2000? Hmmm I am sensing a theme here...
  9. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) well with this injury its looking more and more like he will not, I see the buyout happening then who knows what he is going to do..... The buyout is a 100% guarentee in my eyes right now. The wild card is will he be nearly healthy enough to even offer a contract to for 2006.
  10. The guy who offered the bounty on Daley just got fired as COO of Prime Groups Inc over this mess. http://www.nbc5.com/news/4784452/detail.ht...994&dppid=65192
  11. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) I agree. All these surgeries and recorvery time, plus the risk of re-injury. It may be time for The Hurt to call it a career, unfortunately. Then let the HOF debates begin. Its ironic that a HOF thread got bumped today. People might want to start looking at making reservations for Cooperstown in 2010.
  12. A good way to pass the time is to eat peanuts and look at outer space.
  13. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) They just said in a subsequent report that he may even have re-fractured the ankle coming back too early...they are not sure yet If he rebroke it, we have seen the last of Frank in a Sox uniform. We won't pay him that much money to sit out another year. The only way back is if they pay him something with an incentive laced contract for 2007.
  14. Damn. I am not surprised, but still that sucks. Get well Big man and we will see you in 2006.
  15. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Who ever deemed SS as a power position? Frankly, I think Uribe blows ass -- he is basically an automatic out at the plate -- but he has singlehandidly won us a ton of ballgames this year -- with both his glove and his bat. Doesn't he lead the team in Sac flies? uribe actually is near the top of the AL lead for Sac Flies along with Everett.
  16. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Just finished up with talking to Kris. He said a lot of great things and I still don't understand why people think he has a bad personality. He was a great interview and he said he finally feels 100%, which is awesome to hear. I'll type my story up ASAP, guys. Excellent, and I can't wait to see it!
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) However, I digress. Hibbard, there is not a statistic out there that can actually prove someone's defensive worth. It is really impossible to do that. Just watch the games and you will notice how damn good Uribe is at SS. Watch the games and you will see such a huge downgrade in quality when Pablo fills in for Uribe. Uribe is a stud in the field and that should not even be up for debate. His bat I would like to improve. However, is Pablo really that huge of an upgrade offensively that you would be able to deal with the huge downgrade defensively? Who is to say that if you start playing Pablo day in and day out that he will be that good offensively? Plus SS2K pointed out that Pablo has absolutely no power. There is no way I am taking a chance with him playing everyday when I am not making my team any better. Now if you want to acquire a SS like Vizquel then I can understand that and I am with you, however I am not for replacing him with Pablo as the everyday SS. This pretty much sums it up. As much as some people would like it to, with all of the intangibles and intracacies of baseball, so much of baseball is unquantifiable. Defense is hugely unquantifiable. You have to watch the games to appreciate what Juan Uribe brings to the field. You can't judge everything with statistics.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Good job making s*** up Yeah Ozuna actually has a lower fielding percentage than Uribe

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Where do they play..? Benedictine U http://chicagobandits.com/stadium/directions/
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) LMAO @ "could you give me any of the players email addresses..?" that was my question, stop laughing at me
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) 157 Riverside Avenue. I have been on a personal mission to get them to Naperville RibFest. When we had them at Porter County Fair they were pretty reasonable. I don't know how big their arena is but PC had seating for 4500, and they sold out.

I know the Bandits have played lots of games against other countries Olympic teams, maybe those are included?
  23. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Theres an article on whitesox.com about the white sox possibly buying out his contract. IMO its not a if, but a when. But I do think they will get a deal done at a lower price.
  24. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) I just proved how Uribe is the worst offensive player in the AL. Let's look at his defense. 7th out of 10 shortstops in qualified fielding percentage at .972. Don't like fielding percentage, you say? Fine. Let's look at range factor, something you seem to be insinuating is great about him. 5th out of 10 qualified AL shortstops, 14th in the entire majors at 4.5. Zone Rating? 11th out of 25 qualified MLB shortstops. What about his defense is remarkable? Even if Ozuna's not the answer, anyone other than Uribe clearly is. Even Royce Clayton. LMAO. Royce Clayton. The only thing you proved was that you are stirring the pot again. Have fun trolling.
