Roster Moves
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) Walker had an outing against the Rangers in the blowout game. Before that, it had been like 12 days since he had seen any action. Something tells me we don't really need that extra relief pitcher right now. He's as good a person to replace as any. And we could use an extra bat right now. And oh...to any of those folks saying McCarthy should come out of the bullpen...yeah...let's put him in Walker's role, so he gets 12 days of rest. That'll be great for the kid. Exactly. We don't need Walker at all, and we definately don't need to waste Brandon to have him pitch once every two weeks.

Tickets
QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) That was 2 tickets for tonight's game, but thanks. Quick has season tickets up there. Definately give him a try. Real cool guy too, well except when you get him going about Willie

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
Also from what I was just reading, it sounds like KRod is going to be activated for the game tonight, so those 9th innings might be a little tougher.

UHL/Pang coming to Chicago
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) 3 teams in Chicago? Mmmmkay. I wouldn't bother counting the Blackhawks as a team after this strike. An interesting side bet would be to see if the Wolves or Hawks draw more people when then NHL comes back. On the bright side, it will be kinda cool to be able to see the "Komets" again

What can the Sox do ...
make more threads about it. In all seriousness, just keep winning. Attendance is already up double digit percentage points over this time last year, and it shows no signs of slowing down. The attendence is fine.

UHL/Pang coming to Chicago
- GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
This is an ESPN game on national TV... we all know what that means- best Sox player of all-time
QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) *cough* dead ball era *cough* So should we discount Frank's numbers because he played in the "live" ball era?- Would anybody be interested in Mondesi
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) That was an awesome play. Probably the best outfield catch I've seen all season by the Sox. Seriously? I think Rowands forward diving catch in short centerfield was the best dive for the Sox this year. Honestly I though Dye misjudged the ball at first , and had to dive to make the play.- Roster Moves
QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) Yes, but does he have/need the injury for that? Personally I think he has been hurt all along since he originally got hurt. His numbers have plummetted ever since then.- Offense is showing some signs of life.
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) I agree with all you said except for Crede. Yeah he had the dinger today but this last month his average has been falling like a stone. He needs to get his s*** together and start hitting. Uribe has been terrible lately as well but he has gotten a few big hits during the last week. One good sign was that the ball was hit to right center, and it was a short swing. Who knows if it will last, but that is exactly what Joe needs to do to be effective.- Roster Moves
I like the Everett to the DL option... Good idea, and it makes sense with his slump.- France Rejects EU
QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) Sad to say, its most likely a short term gain for the Dollar. Which sucks because it keeps me from a European vacation for quite a while. I was just about to say the samething. As a result of all of the protectionism that the WTO has allowed for other countries in key industries, and ruled against the US, the weak dollar has been our only means of evening the playing field. I wouldn't look for too big of a rally, as I really don't think the Bush team wants a strong dollar right now.- Mariotti Article
So essentially Guillen is an idiot, but he is underpaid at the sametime. That's about what I expected...- Cotts is doing much better
When Neal has gotten work he has been solid. Nothing great or special, but solid. I haven't looked at it, but it sure seems to me like at least most of his wild outings have come after long layoffs.- Was Frank brought back too soon?
Frank self-admittedly tweeked his hip flexor because "he got excited and ran too fast" Think about that for a second. Frank ran too fast. Look out Paul Konerko. Yeah I don't think there is any doubt that if he pulled something from running too fast, he came back too soon.- Offense is showing some signs of life.
