Attendance had to look like a bell curve this year. Slow start, huge crowds in the middle, and a big drop off at the end. 2.4-2.5 wouldn't have been out of the question without a collapse. On the bright side that means at worst payroll should stay stable, or maybe even jump a little if Boyer and his crew can get out and sell some tickets for next year.

That is almost a tough call for me. Really I would rather see somekind of a Borchard/RH RFer platoon out there, and save the $3.5 million over Everett. I think we have seen this year that he is lazy if he isn't on a winning team. His weight and conditioning have shown that, and I think that is why he was injury prone this year. I definately would rather see the $3.5 mil put into another arm for the pen.

Is Borchard showing signs of life? That gives him hits in 5 straight games and 8 of 9. He has raised his average about 20 points over that stretch with a couple of HRs, 2 doubles, and 8 RBIs. I hope it means good things to come for Joe, but I am not going to hold my breath.
