One interesting tidbit gleamed off was that Bull and Baj didn't think too highly of Sandoval, maybe the word prick woulda been used in the PG-13 version.
-
I can't believe this thread has gone on this long, it wasn't even a particularly good joke.
-
Good point on Meaux, wish they'd have given him more innings in ST.
-
Word going around is that Wunsch is who KW was pissed at, still no reason to trade him unless you've got an alternate plan in place. Right now it seems like it'd be a scramble.
-
I thought they lost three in a row a few games back.

KC has a killer schedule the first two months, if they don't come out of the gates smoking they'll be done by June 1. Minny has a fairly easy schedule til August and could build up a large lead if we don't play well in the first half, they also have the benefit of KC and the Sox both could go into white flag mode in July if we're far enough back. Bottom line is we have to stick with Minny thru July, if we do that we have a good chance of roaring past them in August. If things go Minny's way they could win the division with 86 wins, for us though it'll probably take 94. That's not impossible but we have to get off to a good start.

I believe they are do into the commish office on Sunday.

Heaven is a toilet bowl? Guess that explains why it goes round n round.
-
Buehrle today, Wright Tommorrow, ELo Thursday, Schoe Friday, Garland Saturday. Of course that could change.
-
Gee Coop, why did you guys only pitch Cotts 3 innings then? What a dump F.... I don't know Coop, he's scheduled to pitch in the Yankee opener, how about then? Or is that too much like a death sentence. What a dump F....
-
Why Grilli? Where are you seeing this? If I'm reading things right then Cotts could move himself to the lead with a good showing vs KC today. I'm not sure Grilli will even be given another opportunity again if Cotts can step up.
-
Unless Grilli has been walking around the clubhouse like he's already on the team then.......... Schoe is suspect no. 1, he's the one who's been in the papers saying he knows what KW thinks of him, he's the one who kept using the excuse that you had to wait til he used his full repetoire of pitches to judge him but when he did in his last start he was still ineffective, he's the one who could create problems for the team if he was demoted from the rotation now, and by maybe no coincidence at all he's the one starting todays game with Cotts(his possible successor) getting switched to the A game tommorrow. Wunsch would be no. 2 of my suspect list, not because he's been terrible but because he needs to step it up now for the season and a lefty specialist should never feel comfortable with his spot on the team. Shingo is no. 3 for obvious reasons, but it's been hinted enough lately that I don't think that anyone could be surprised by him starting in Charlotte. Koch is no. 4 but he's probably untradable at this point.

You're doing a great job Kap

ELo is on the mound for the Sox.

You're a day late with that post.

I think you're reading a little too much into that, he's saying that if Perez is anything more than a reserve for us that that is bad news. That's true. He's also saying he's a fan of Ginter's and that Ginter wasn't going to have any opportunity in Chicago. That's also true. I have no problem with guys writing the truth, that's infinitely better than what we get out of Moronatti.

It's official: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...4news&fext=.jsp

LMAO!!! From the Mutts board. yeah, wait until they get a load of his yellow banana hammock in their locker room...he doesn't even know english, right? an alien who doesn't have much baseball knowledge that enjoys gallavanting about in his tighty whities...we really did them a favor
-
I think this solidifies the roster at least positionwise, now we just have to decide on the last two relievers and we are set.
-
Perez is the Mets' best all-around defensive outfielder. He owns above-average arm strength and good accuracy, enabling him to accumulate six outfield assists last year-second-best on the team. He plays one of the more shallow center fields in the game because of his speed and ability to read balls off the bat.

Ok, this makes a whole lot more sense than the Uribe talk on the other thread. I can see this since if Bernard had been able to stay healthy he would've had the last spot anyhow. We're still light in utility IFers but maybe it's best to see if Dransfeldt can continue hitting in AAA, something he's never shown he could do before.
-
Wow that trade makes.......................................no F'n sense at all, we are looking for another utility IFer not trade the only one we have. In fact(and I really hate to say this) I wouldn't trade Uribe right now for a stud reliever just because of the gaping hole it would leave on this team.
-
Amen Yas and let me 3rd that, Willie is our 2nd baseman and will be for the first 2 months at least. If he can't cut it then Uribe will get the call, if Uribe can't cut it then 2nd will be our no. 1 priority for July trades. EOS. Right now we are looking for a utility IFer who can play 3rd and hopefully SS and 2nd, versatility is the key along with being able to either pinch hit or pinch run off the bench. In camp that's Dransfeldt(who has earned it btw), so when you start mentioning possible pickups right now he's the one who needs to be beaten out.
-
Oh I agree, I wish we had overpaid like that. Btw, why wait til July, I'll trade you the Japanese all-time saves leader for him right now.
-
IMO time in the majors beats steady work in the minors but I do see the point if he's only getting an inning or so a week he might be better off in AAA. However, look at the staff, Schoe has proven nothing so there could long relief opportunities every 5 days and or a switch of starters after the first month, then there are two guys(Shingo and Koch) who may get alot less work than originally planned so there's more innings that may be available, finally if they do keep Grilli it may be more because they don't want to lose him than it is that he's earned playing time. So if Cotts can come up and pitch effectively he could end up with significantly more innings than expected and could also be in a better position to take over for an ineffective Schoe if it comes down to that. If I were Ozzie I'd keep an open mind and let this decision go all the way down to the 3rd of April, alot can happen in this final week.
