  1. Actually it was better than that, not only did the guy not throw it back but he handed it to a 3 yr old boy sitting next to him. Pure class from one of the "fireworks-fueled 21,163" Sox fans at the game.
  2. Do you two get paid by the word for your posts?
  3. What Seattle wants and what they'll get are two different things, no contender is going to dismantle part of their lineup in the middle of a race for a rent-an-arm. Talk of only getting guys who can compete now is just another PR line of BS for their fans.
  4. How so? Carl has actually been rather mediocre over his career with only a couple of good seasons sprinkled in, we should just be lucky we got one of those good seasons out of him and leave it at that. Btw, he has only played in 10 games this season and is still on the DL.
  5. What Joe needs is Crede's Crew back.
  6. JM doesn't have this conversation with anyone last yr(or the yr before that, or the yr before that.........), god I am soooo happy he's gone.
  7. He started almost all of ST and has always been a starter til this season, while going a 100 pitches is out of the question he can and should be able to go 4-5 innings quite easily. Again, Roa went 5 IP last night for the Twinks which was his longest appearance since Apr 15th, 2003 and his longest stint this yr was 2.1 IP.
  8. Throwing in the towel????? I hope that's a joke.
  9. Rueter would be the only plausible possibility, he'd be a good 5th starter for us if we could get him cheap and early(before we start interleague play). He doesn't upgrade the front 4 though, but if we get him early and cheap we could possibly make another trade closer to the deadline.
  10. Neal - As a starter, what do you consider to be a "Key" for you that us Sox fans can pick up on when you're pitching, ie..."If I'm getting this pitch over for a strike..." or "If I'm hitting this spot with this pitch.....I'm going to be really tough to beat"? Thanx in advance.
  11. Jeez Louise guys, don't you all remember that the only important fact is the attendance figure for the game and anything else is trivial and irrelevant. Now quit acting like a bunch of know nothing Cub fans and get back with the fricken program!!! Now, did they get get the attendance right? Was it compared to the Cub attendance to show who won? What more do you need!! Sheeesh!
  12. He has does nothing but stake out a relatively safe and defensible position from which he launches an attack upon the Sox, the Org, and its fans. Be very wary or you'll find yourself a stooge to his mallice of forethought.
  13. 2003: $5.0M 2004: Dual option $6.0M player/$8.0M team 2005: Dual option $8.0M player/$11.0M team 2006: Dual option $10.0M player/$12.0M team or $3.5M buyout
  14. Alot of scrub fans have been drooling over the possibility.
  15. Not sure why anyone would've bothered getting past the first paragraph of this tripe.
  16. So he's heading for an 18-6 record with a 2.43 era, cool.
  17. When will they stop bringing it up? In a word, never.

    Koch

Well before we get all goofy here about Koch or ELo, Gar, and Buehrle I have an interesting tidbit here, in the past 3 days(5 games) there's been 27 HRs hit in Chicago including 16 today and it coulda been 40 if it were St Louis or Houston instead of the impotent Bucs. I think what we've had here is what's called Welcome to Chicago baseball in April. In fact, the most amazing(and promising) thing this week was that we scored all 10 runs yesterday without a HR.
  19. Funny, that's the second time in the past few days I've heard that phrase. Albert Belle had slider bat speed and Frank doesn't have great speed either, Manny is barely over slider speed but then I guess all 3 of them have great power thru the zone. Bonds has tremendous bat speed but that could attributable to him choking up the way he does.
  20. Wow did this thread come out of left field, there should 41k sore throats today from cheering, we're 3-3 coming off a tough road trip but better still is we're this || close to really breaking it wide open. We had the lead or the winning run at the plate in the 9th of all 6 games, all we have to do is a better job of finishing and we're going to go on an extended win streak and there isn't a better recipe for that than a loud home crowd behind you. We're about to take off and the Cell should be sounding like O'Hare. Btw, with a 17 mph wind blowing out to right field today expect alot of fireworks for both teams but expect more for the Sox than KC.
  21. Let's hope they stay that way for another 10 days or so!!
  22. Well it doesn't look good to get the game in right now but things could change in 3 hrs: http://www.weather.com/weather/map/USNY099..._animated&day=1
  23. You have a grandson? Man you're old! As has been stated, Magg's current contract was a backloaded $10 mil per yr contract. If he thinks he's going to get $14 mil per out on the open market then god bless him and hope he has a nice end to his career wherever that may be. Whatever contract he does get won't be longer than 4 yrs(insurance reasons) but it could have a couple of option yrs tacked on to make it a 6 yr package. I'd $72 mil tops for a 6 yr package.
