I think y'all are forgetting why there's an unwritten rule for s*** like this, it's simply that nothing good can become of it(and to a lesser point, it only drawing attention to yourself at the expense of others). Two examples: You're at the company party sitting at the table with your spouses and one of the single guys sits down and starts going on about how the office is one big f_ckfest and how half the people park at the Holiday Inn next door to save time after work. Whether you're doing it or not, don't you now have to deal with what he has said? Wouldn't you be pissed off at him? What happens the next time you have to work late? What if Willie had said that he was afraid to walk barefoot in the clubhouse because of syringes lying around, would that have been appropriate to state on TV? Haven't you implicated everyone by association? Should that be public fodder in any way, shape, or form? And who should be more pissed, the guys getting shot up or the guys who aren't?

I don't want to take any of the blame away from the players because they were so deserving of it but I have to give JM an equal share too. No way should a team start out a championship season as flat as the Sox did in KC. That and one good April/May in six seasons for JM is simply unacceptable, not with the firepower he had.

Parking was $14 last yr, I expected them to round it off to $15 but why add the extra $1? The attendants are going to have to start with a big wad of singles. It would be more likely for them to have CLee play some at 1st, with neither Frank or Kong signed past '05(and no 1st baseman in the pipe) and the emergence of a possible OF of ARow, Reed, and Borchard the move of Lee to 1st could be inevitable. I've been thinking about Joe B. making the team and the one big reason holding him back for at least the first month is to preserve a yr of arb eligibility. With the Sox, that could definitely be an overriding factor.

I've said elsewhere that I think that Bernard will be our 4th OFer but there's nothing wrong with Joe taking Gload's spot. He could use the major league AB's alot more than Gload and since Gload can't play 3rd and we already have 2 1stbaseman jockeying for playng time he won't be missed.

IMO Joe B. is battling Gload for the final roster spot not Bernard for the 4th OFer spot.

If Cotts is our 5th starter then we'll be starting 3 lefties in NY anyhow so there's no point in splitting them up. Personally, I like the idea of throwing all those lefties at them. Btw, if Cotts is the 5th starter his first start would be the series finale. How sweet it would be to have him going to the mound with a chance to sweep.

I'm not a fan of it when it's abused like Mo Vaugn and Barry Bonds to hang on top of the plate(sometime I think Bonds is going to get hit and they're going to call it a strike). However, when a guy is hurt or all the pitchers are trying to bust him inside(like Frank) then it's fine by me.

I wouldn't discount Wright either, he has the stuff to be a great reliever. The hard part for Guillen is going to be getting these guys consistent work. But Koch is still the key, not only to the pen but to the season. If he's back to form things fall into place nicely, if not, then I'd prefer he go on the DL for the yr so things can coalece around another option. I also think that Arnie could be our late season FRod, that is if he doesn't make the team out of ST which is very possible if we carry 12.

Walker's defense sucks, that's why he couldn't get a starting gig anywhere. Willies' D is far superior, the only ????? is can he get on base. It woulda been nice to have had Walker on the bench and it sucks that we have almost no alternatives to Harris but that's how things are at the moment. It's amazing to think that at this time last yr 2nd base was probably the strongest position in the org with DJ, Harris, Miles, and Hummel(you could even throw Graffy in that mix). Now it's pretty much Harris or bust.

Why wasn't he working on that in the off-season? The way it sounds is he knows he doesn't have his good velocity yet or they'd be announcing it from the mountaintops.
