  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) Why is bringing up Wagner blowing a save out of line to you? He did? Closers blow games. s*** happens. Jenks has blown 2 of the last 3. Yes he deserves to sit a while and closer by committee makes sense right now. Wagner doesn't have an ERA over five.
  2. Via Rotoworld Please don't make this move KW.
  3. Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman from the Offspring.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Please tell me someone else was watching top of 9th in Dodgers/Giants game. I can honestly say I've never seen that before. Mattingly went to mound to talk to Broxton, took a step off the mound, and then took two steps back to say one more thing to him. Giants manager saw this, and told the umpires that should count as two visits. Broxton was forced to leave, and Dodgers had no one warming up. I watched it. One of the craziest things I've ever seen. Have to give Bochy a ton of credit for calling them on that.
  5. I will be very disappointed if we trade Hudson and Flowers for Dunn.
  6. So, the fan on my laptop stopped working, making the computer really hot. The problem is, I searched all over Gateway's website and couldn't find any fans, the only thing they had were those cooling pads that have a fan in it. If I were to buy a cooling pad would it basically workt the same way as a fan? Or would I ultimately need to replace the fan? Just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem.
  7. Yunel Escobar didn't hit a single homer with the Braves all season. He already has two with Toronto.
  8. It was nice to see us back in the gray uniforms as well.
  9. I thought it was really well done.
  10. The original Alice in Chains lineup with Layne Staley.
  11. I liked the trade at the time. Granted, I did think it was a lot to give up. It turned into one of Kenny's better trades. Freddy was a solid pitcher for 2 1/2 years, then we turn him into Gavin Floyd and Gio Gonzalez.
  12. Hughes has been absolutely terrible since June 1. You have to question Girardi going with him when he has guys like Feliz and Soriano available. But of course, he has to get his Yankees into the game.
  13. After reading Verducci's book about the Yankees, I got a very negative view of Steinbrenner. He treated his employees like s***. One year, he failed to give his scouts rings. I'm sorry, but the guy was a grade A douchebag. It sucks that he died, but I'm not going to all of the sudden start talking about how great a person he was.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) Smoak was an overpay, IMO. Perez or Scheppers would've constituted as a gang rape. :lolhitting Well said my friend. Well said.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) It's an incredible haul for the Mariners. Trading for Lee might be one of the best moves Jack Zduriencik ever makes. Amazing. And one of the worst moves Ruben Amaro has ever made.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) What are you hearing? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
  17. Looks like it's the Rangers, which is great news.
  18. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Doesn't matter when you're printing money. Very true
  19. Wow, this came out of nowhere, since the Yankees starting pitching is fine. A five year deal for Lee will blow up in their face. Not a fan of giving pitchers in their 30's long term contracts. I know I'll be in the minority on this board, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox go after Javy.
  20. I'm guessing a Lee trade would have to include Beckham. Something like Beckham + Flowers.
  21. I've liked what I've seen from Rescue Me so far. Hopefully we don't have a lot of the Tommy/Sheila/Janet love triangle anymore. Tommy's sleeping with Janet. No, he's with Sheila. Wait, he's back with Janet again. That's gotten old after five seasons.
  22. He sure as hell has Uribe's plate discipline.
  23. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Allow me to pose this very pessimistic question (I know, surprising): How deflating would it be to lose Peavy for the season after doing so much in the last three weeks to climb right into the thick of things? That's just depressing to even think about. Especially with Clayton Richard pitching so well.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) Exactly, I think Hudson will be fine as a #5. Honestly, I think the key is Garcia. If he can continue to pitch well, we'll be fine. Yep, that's the key. If he implodes, we're in trouble.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) I honestly think we still need a bat more even if Peavy is out for a while. Our pitching is that good and our hitting is that bad. This is terrible news. But I agree, getting a bat is more important than getting Cliff Lee.
